Yes, it's the most important meal of the day. But is it the tastiest? I specialize in desserts/baked goods and breakfast foods (whereas my hubby is captain entree xp ). I'll post here the best recipes I know of for everything from simply french toast to breakfast cassaroles. Post requests here if you have them, and also let me know if you try the recipes 3nodding

OMELETTE PITA POCKET

MAKES: 2 servings

INGREDIENTS:
2 slices bacon
2 slices ham
3 eggs, beaten
1 handful shredded cheese (sharp)
1 pita pocket, cut in half
Salsa or other toppings

DIRECTIONS:
1. Place bacon and ham in a medium skillet over medium heat. Fry until evenly brown and drain. Crumble bacon. Microwave bacon ("pre cooked") works just as well.
2. Mix eggs into skillet, and scramble with the bacon and sausage until no longer runny.
3. Place pita bread in a microwave, and heat on High about 30 seconds, until warm. Spoon the egg mixture into the pita bread halves. Add cheese. Top with salsa if so desired. Serve warm.

NOTE: I adapted this from a recipe found on allrecipes.com. All my recipes can be made in under 30 minutes. I bought one of these in the frozen foods section, the pre-cooked/reheat type, and fed it to my husband. He said it wasn't bad, but preferred the recipe above.

Gosh, for my breakfast, I normally just break an egg into a bowl, add some salt, pepper, garlic salt, and milk, whisk it up, and scramble it on a pan. sweatdrop I do other things too, but when I cook my breakfast, more times then not there is an egg.

Personally, I usually have a couple eggos or english muffins. I like my breakfast simple. But I like making things that smell fantastic for my hubby. If I don't cook breakfast for him, he won't eat (lazy bones blaugh ) so I'd rather he starts with something yummy.

jeeze...breakfast? I don't eat breakfast...I'm not really a breakfast person but I do eat something when I wake up...I used to eat my lunch for breakfast when I was in High School and yea...but generally I used to make a "hole in one"
a peice of bread with a small sized hole placed on it..
.and then butter om both sides.
place bread on fry pan (use butter as non-stick)
crack egg into the hole and wait for egg to cook (season the egg if you want I used Joelyn's Cajun Spice, and some salt on mine...(see spices thread for Joelyn's Cajun Spice))
flip (season is optional)
remove from heat and enjoy! ^_^

Well you all know this, everyone learned it in like grade school: breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It's why restaurants have entire menus devoted to breakfast wink

Well anyway, here's another omelette. Hubby loves things hot (that sounded dirty):

MEXICAN OMELETTE

MAKES: 2 servings

INGREDIENTS:
3 eggs, beaten
4 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 slices bacon, crumbled
1/2 teaspoon Cilantro
2 tablespoons Onion
2 tablespoons Chili Powder
1/2 tablespoons pepper
1/2 cup chopped green peppers
1 cup shredded Mexican/4cheese
Pace Chunky Salsa to top

DIRECTIONS:
1. Place bacon and ham in a medium skillet over medium heat. Fry until evenly brown and drain. Crumble bacon. Microwave bacon ("pre cooked") works just as well.
2. Mix eggs and milk into skillet, and scramble with the bacon and seasonings until no longer runny.
3. Heat up small skillet with oil over medium heat, add mixed ingredients.
4. As the omelette cooks lift edges with spatula and mix centre so it is not too thick.
5. When omelette is relatively solid add other ingredients and allow cheese to melt.
6. Fold in half and serve.

For those of you that say you have no time for breakfast, here are some healthy options. I dunno, it's the only way to start the day to me. If I don't have breakfast I get sick. Well I hope these help... to me, a hot breakfast is better than any cereal or pop tart type thing.

First, if you like eggs but don't know how to make them:
1. How to fry an egg
EDIT: the url of that link looks a little iffy to me, so here's a different one
2. How to scramble an egg

After that, you need something to go with the eggs. There's always frozen waffles (mm, eggos!) or bagels or english muffins (Thomas' is my favorite). And they make that microwave bacon where you stick it in for 30 seconds and you're done. So many yummy options! I'm a fan of putting them all together for a "supermelt".

CLASSIC SUPERMELT

MAKES: 1 large sandwich

INGREDIENTS:
Bread - for an extra healthy melt, buy that "white wheat" bread. Tastes like white bread, but with the lesser sodium count and the healthy nutrients of wheat bread.
2 Eggs - made any way you like, see above for directions.
2 Slices American Cheese - Melted. I prefer Velveeta.

DIRECTIONS:
If you really need directions on how to put a sandwich together, they come premade in the frozen foods section. Save yourself some time and brain cells confused

NOTE: This is what I had at Friendly's yesterday. I swear, the best thing about pregnancy is the cravings. Food never tasted so good! Guilt free devouring of your favorite foods? Yummy! User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Here's one... I don't think I posted it yet.

Baked Egg

12 eggs
About 12 pieces of bread- shredded
About 2 T of milk
Anything you'd put into an omelet.
Shredded Cheese
Salsa
Peppers
Salt n Pepper (not to be confused w/ the singing group razz )
Mushrooms
Bacon- crumbled
Sausage- crumbled
and anything else you can think of....

Preheat oven to about 275 degrees
Mix all ingredents together until everything is coated in the egg. I usually add an ingredent then stir, add then stir...
Spray 9x13 baking pan with no stick spray
Pour mixture into pan and bake approximatly 1 hour.
15 Minutes before removing from the oven, sprinkle additional shredded cheese on top of egg.
Egg is baked when edges are browned and center isn't runny.

Enjoy!

This is really good if mixed the night before and allowd to refridgerate all night... just pop it into the oven the next day!

My boyfriend and I tried out a breakfast recipe once called Breakfast Pizza.

1 premade cresent dough rolled out to form a pizza crust placed on a baking dish.
1 layer of hashbrowns
1 layer of scrambled eggs
1 layer of bacon or sausage.

Bake, cut up and serve. Sorry I don't have specific info. I'm going by memory. I think it would taste good with a person's own fixings too. such as onions, peppers, olives or whatever. 3nodding
