I've seen two of the three DVDs of .Hack//Sign and I haven't seen any reference to Tsukasa's gender being female. I've seen Mimiru and Bear talking about it, but no, it's never been stated flat-out. Is it said in the 3rd DVD?

At the end of .Hack//Sign, you actually get to see Tsukasa come out of the hospital, and sees someone familiar in a wheelchair. And for the first time... the real world is portrayed... in COLOR!!!

The two DVD's you've seen must not have said it. I'm pretty sure in one of them they say it flat out.

Really? I don't remember any of them actually saying she's a girl.

Just the question whether she was boy or not.

her mind was worped by "The World" so she thought she was a guy. so why would she act girly?

She knows she's a girl... I mean, she still has her memories and all from the real world. She just doesn't want to tell anyone else. I guess you could say I'm paranoid, but I wouldn't try to reveal that much about myself.

Yes, it is revealed that she is a girl. In the 6th DVD you get to see her.

Indeed, just go ask some friends or someone who knows about it and I'm sure they'll explain.Unless they don't know or are stupid. stare

Wrong. Tsukasa's the Angst Master, so she decided to make her character a boy in order to further escape her real life. When she was Data Drained, Morganna erased all her memories except those about her angsty, emo life, and created memories to make her believe that she was male, and Morganna was her mother.

Until she started resisting Morganna, Tsukasa fully believed she was male. After being asked the question several times and questioning it herself, though, she started to realize that she was really female. Bear knew it all along, and Mimiru was a tad skeptic, but Tsukasa was the one who confirmed it near the end of the series.

Hooooon. There are six dvds, not three. They start mentioning it frequently in the fifth dvd, and becomes apparent in the last.

Tsukasa kept insisting she was male because in The World, she wanted to be a male. Morganna probably tampered with her memories a little bit to screw up her emotions enough to mess up Aura's awakening, which ended up slowly deleting her.
