A Pidgey trilled, gliding by overhead and disappearing back into the foliage. Soon, even the sound of fluttering leaves and feathers gave way to the peaceful silence once more. Hayden stumbled slightly stepping over a root, distracted by the flying Pokemon. He grinned sheepishly at Tara, turning back and clearing his throat. "Err, here we are."

Just ahead of them, a small cluster of buildings seemed a little out of place, surrounded on all sides by forest. The area immediately around the buildings was clear, however, and the buildings themselves would have seemed inconspicious in their plainness anywhere else. Hayden stepped out of the cool darkness of the forest and into the warm sunlight, leading Tara to a small door on the side of the largest building. He pulled an electronic card out of his pocket, swiping it through a reader on the wall. A few seconds later, the reader beeped and there was a click as the door unlocked. He pushed the door open, revealing a long, sterile-looking hallway. Stepping just inside, he held the door for Tara. "Hurry, there's an alarm that sounds if the door is left open for too long. Not a big deal, just to let us know the door didn't close properly or something like that, but it's near-painfully loud." He chuckled, grinning lopsidedly.

Tara smiled at the sight of the Pidgey. She had a Pidgeot in her little group of pokemon before. She looked at the building, mouth irking to one side. Didn't exactly look like a very happy place. Ah well, not like she was going to be there for long. Or so she thought, anyways. She looked into the hallway, eye scanning over it slowly. "Alright..." She stepped in, fingers tapping on the slick fabric of her black jacket idly. She bit her thumb on her other hand, looking down the hallway. Twas a nasty habit, biting her thumb, she had done it for as long as she could remember, anyways.

Hayden led her down the hallway and into an unmarked door that appeared just like all the others. Inside was a simple room containing a wooden table, a couple chairs, and nothing else. "If you'll wait here for just a moment, I'll go see if I can't find a free phone for you to use." He smiled, nodding slightly before heading out the door, not waiting for an answer.

Once outside, he closed the door behind him and sighed with relief. His portion of the work was done and he was safe. Leaning against the door, he shook his head slightly, eyes closed. Poor girl...

But it was her or him. And he chose himself. What else could he do? It's not like he had much of a choice in the matter. "Sorry about this...about everything..." he muttered softly before heading down the hall to report to his superiors.

Tara tilted her head to the side, looking into the room. "Alright..." She stepped in and sat on one of the chairs, fingers running over the wooden table. Jeez, this place was so sterile it was kinda creepy. She sighed and leaned the chair back onto two legs, fingers running over the bandages idly. She did realise what a horrible situation she was in but something about it did seem suspicious to her. She sighed and folded her arms behind her head, humming something to herself quietly.

It wasn't long before the door opened again and a man in a labcoat slipped inside. He smiled cordially, nodding his head to her in greeting.

"Greetings. I am Dr. Carl Hakan. Hayden told me about your situation, Miss Tara, though I must apologize for his behavior. Young Hayden is part of our security staff here at CRONUS, not a public relations expert."

The doctor chuckled softly, shaking his head as he paced slowly around the room, hands shoved in the pockets of his labcoat.

"He does his job well enough, I suppose."

Hakan paused just behind Tara's chair, eyes darting to the door as two armed guards entered the room. A slow smile crept over his face as he continued speaking softly.

"At least, he does hurry to fix his mistakes. That is one redeeming quality the boy possesses."

He withdrew his hands from his pockets, one clutching a small syringe filled with a mixture of sedatives...and something else. Grinning to himself as the guards tensed, ready for any sign of trouble, Hakan suddenly grabbed Tara's arm and plunged the needle into her flesh, injecting the liquid with a single fluid motion straight through her jacket.

"One more mistake taken care of..."

Tara hissed slightly at his arrival. Though, she did listen quietly to what he said afterwards. "What do you mean mista-" She was cut off, a high pitched almost screech excaping her once pursed lips. She hated needles, destested them. She hated anything that punctured her skin. Worse yet, the needle went directly where some of her scars were located. She got to her feet and spun around to face the man, vicious sneer on her face. Her hand instantly balled into a fist, though she found herself dizzy now. What the hell was in that needle...? Her fist loosened and she stumbled backwards, biting her lip. Her fingers went to her temple, her head curling down to her chest.

Dr. Hakan backed away quickly, watching his latest victim carefully. Perhaps this wasn't the best way to do things...but it was definitely the most fun. He smirked as the drugs began taking effect, raising his hand to signal the guards to lower their weapons. All was going according to plan; there should be no need for drastic measures...this time.

You might feel a little disoriented," he drawled, grinning and folding his hands behind his back. "Trust me, this is normal. It won't last long, however, before you're unconscious anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it too much."

The guards began circling around behind Tara, reaching out to take her by her arms, both holding her up and keeping her from trying anything.

"If only Hayden had done his job properly the first time, we might have been spared all of this drama. But, it's a small matter." He stepped closer once he felt sure that Tara was suitably restrained, taking her chin in his hand and forcing her to look up at him. "Now that my plans are back on track, we'll get you to your new 'lodgings' before the next step. I have very big plans for you, my dear..."

((Something happened to my other post, it skipped a line of the RP x.o Fixed it tho))

Tara glared up at him, silver eye cold. She would've kicked him, but she found herself not able to control her legs fully. She narrowed her eye, hair fallind and curving around the bandages over her left eye as her head was tilted backwards. "And what exactly are you going to do?" Her voice was a low dark growl, "Or rather, what is it you really do in CRONUS?" Her fist finally loosened enough from the effects of the drug and her hand lay limp, dangling from the arm that was held by the gaurds.

Dr. Hakan chuckled, cautiously making sure to stay safely out of Tara's range. Although he had faith in the tranquilizers he used, he didn't trust his subjects not to try and fool him. After all, he'd designed the tranquilizers himself, so he knew they worked...and quite well at that. But desperate and scared people could always surprise you with the lengths they were willing to go to try and save themselves.

"Oh, I'm sure you'd like to know...but you'll just have to find out for yourself soon enough. We do exactly what we tell the public we do...but we just don't tell them what ELSE we do." He smirked, chuckling softly as he released her and backed away. He signaled to the guards with a wave of his hand and they steadied their hold on her, making sure she wouldn't fall and hurt herself when the tranquilizer took full-effect.

Tara hadn't moved in a while. She really didn't see the point anymore. Life had become monotonous, drolling on from day to day. Days rolled into nights, which rolled into weeks, and, after a while, she stopped keeping track of time. She left occasionally to grab food, but stayed in her 'room' most of the time, sitting or laying on the couch, staring at either the opposite was or the cieling. At this moment, she was sitting on the edge. Her elbows were on her knees, and her head was in one hand. The fingers of the other traced over the bandage over her eye. She hadn't spoken in a long time; only thought. She stopped, for the moment, trying to figure out what was going on.

The shuppet, who had been around her since they et at the halloween... thing, drifted up in her face, staring at her in the eye as intently as she had been looking at the wall. It nudged her with it's horn, giving a light "Et" before floating around and perching on her head.

Tara pursed her lips and shooed it off gently before flopping over sideways, one arm folded beneath her head. The Shuppet blinked and floated down, sitting before her face.

The girl was silent after that, staring at the wall. She had grown used to the normality that was this place. She still didn't really know what it was, aside from bits and pieces of conversation that she had listened in to from other people that were stuck here as she was. She tried not to care much, but she couldn't help but be curious as to what was to come...

#006 -- Tara Maigin

User Image

Uncerted Tara

The woman answering to the name of "Tara" has displayed similar changes to Ms. Hakan's. Taking on an almost werewolf-like appearance, the subject causes one to take a second thought before approaching her.

Subject #006 has exhibited the following physical changes thus far: fang-like canine teeth; claw-like fingernails; dark fur spreading over the back of hands.

Behavioral changes will be observed and documented at a later time, as well as the knowledge of the extent of the new growing fur...if we can get close enough to her.
