-Marian was absolutely in heaven. A dream of dreams. Each new magical place that had been brought about she'd enjoyed in one way or another, but this one was different, and inside she almost lamented at the knowledge that she knew eventually the world would be dragged away.
So best to enjoy it while she was here. And so far she had, having already been through 3 battles with creatures and characters unknown to her. And as of yet, she'd come out victorious, a boost to an ego that needed no boost. And one again she was on the prowl, bow slung dangerously over her shoulder.-
-A soft whimper touched Duchess' ivory throat, her two young ones clutched protectively to her chest. In her opinion, with excpetion to that magical Halloween, all the world transports had been scary.. but this one was horrifying.. Battles going one here and there. This was no place for children. No place for anyone, and worry nagged at her form as she clung close to Gaston, the one that had protected her from every world before this.
Ears flattening softly, her whimper sounded again, along with a simple.- "I don't like this at all... When do you think we'll be able to go home?"

Gaston, being Gaston, felt totally different about this new World than Duchess. Every fight that they had passed on their way to finding a safe place, Gaston had wished that he could join in. There was no way Duchess would approve of that though, especially with the twins there, so he tried to keep his yearning to himself.
As Duchess questioned him, he shrugged his broad shoulders lightly. "If this is anything like what happened at Halloween, it could be a while..." Saying that, he moved his arm to rest it around Duchess' shoulders. "Don't worry though, we'll be fine..." He couldn't help but grin has he motioned towards the bow that was slung around his back.
Much like the Halloween World, his clothes and his weapon of choice had changed, but not as dramtically this time. He now wore a long, navy blue cape, a tight red top and yellow gloves, tight brown pants and big black boots. Perfect hunting attire. The string on his bow had been shortened and tightened and it was completely flexible, making it the perfect hunting weapon. His quiver was full of arrows too. As always, Gaston felt completely safe and confident in his skills.

-Settled up upon a short brick wall fingers working to sharpen the tip of one of her arrows, Marian had seen the familar family's approach, and a devious smile touched her vulpine maw.
Stringing her newly sharpened arrow in her familar old bow, she lifted it, and aimed directly at Gaston, before she called out in a dangerous taunt.- "Enguard Gaston! Ready to go down?"
-Duchess' ears perked with the familar voice, taking a long moment for her to realize the threat. But when she did a stern look touched her face, and if she'd had a free finger to wag, she certainly would have as she scolded the kit.- "Marian! Don't you dare! Someone will get hurt."
-Voice falling a little she took a step forward, her scold turning more to a plea.- "Come on Marian. We can all just stick together until we get out of this nasty place."
"Nah, I'm doing just fine on my own. And besides.. once I get done beating the crap out of someone they always pop right back up just fine. It's like a big game or something"
-Her eyes didn't leave Gaston however, inspecting the large bow in his possession. The time had come, and there wasn't anything at all that was going to get him out of this battle.- "Come on Gaston. Why don't we see just how strong you are."

As soon as Gaston saw Marian, weapon raised, he couldn't help but snicker. "Oh grow up Marian, as if I'm going to fight a girl..." He replied with a smirk, forgetting for a moment that this was his wife's sister he was laughing at.
As Marian went on though, Gaston raised a brow. If everyone was healed automatically after winner was declared, then what would be the harm? "Duchess, you don't mind do you? If what Marian says is true, then we'll both be fine anyway..." He trailed off, looking back towards Marian, still smirking. "Some of us more than others..." It would see that Gaston's rather nasty attitude towards others from when he was younger had remained, despite all that Duchess had done to change him.

"Awwwww... afraid to be beaten by a little girl?" -Her tail twitched with pleasure as she watched his attitude change. Before she added a few words that would change Duchess' mind for her.-
"Who cares what she thinks. It's about time we show her just how big a wuss the man that 'stole her away' really is." -Slipping from the wall, she let the bow string fall loose once again, sauntering up to stare coldly at the man that towered above her.- "If you can beat me then I'll just accept you truely are the better 'man'. But I don't for see that happening."
"What if she's wro...." -Her sweet voice trailed abruptly as Marian's words touched the air. And a heavy sigh racked through her. She didn't want them to fight.. she really didn't. If either of them actually got hurt...
And yet.. how could she sit here and listen to Marian go on and on like that about Gaston? Maybe this was finally the way.. The way to get Marian to understand. To leave them alone and quit trying to convince her away from her future husband. With a soft whimper, she pushed up to her tiptoes placing a kiss gently against his arm.- "Good luck love.."
-Before she quickly slipped away, far further then even necessary, two little ones in tow. She didn't want to watch.. but if she didn't watch.. and things got too bad. Settling gently beneath a tree, she clung her two kittens her gently, murring soft words of comfort to herself and her babies.-

Gaston rolled his eyes. Yes, he still had a nasty attitude, but his temper had faded a lot as he had gotten older. There was a time when words like that would've caused him to erupt, but now, he just laughed and shrugged them off, eager to prove Duchess' little sister wrong.
"Keep your eyes open, you may just learn a few things..." He sneered, pulling the bow from over his shoulder and gripping it tightly in his gloved hand. With his other hand, he reached back into his quiver and pulled out an arrow. Although Duchess was still there, she was behind him, not in his direct line of sight. As long as it stayed that way, he could do whatever he wanted, without worrying about the look on Duchess' face. "Fox hunting season is officially open..." He muttered, the nasty streak again taking hold.

-Watching Duchess and the children make their way away from the makeshift battle field, she couldn't help but laugh a little at his taunt.- "Aren't we clever? Hope you're as quick with your bow as you are with your tongue."
-But soon she was back, carefully watching him as she drew back an arrow of her own. Her ears pressed forward to listen for the sound of his attack. Even though he looked big and slow, he other opponets had possessed short range weapons, and she'd easily held the advantage.
Never having seen the 'great hunter' with a bow, she could only hope that his ego was greater then his skill. And that perhaps her quickness would be enough of an advantage to take him out.
It was dangrous to take the first shot, but maybe she could test his speed, and take a little mystery out of things. Aiming, she quickly snapped the string, sending an arrow flying in his direction.-

(( xp *Considers that guy in The Scorpion King who can catch arrows* rofl I'd be pushing it a bit with that though... ))
As Marian drew an arrow, Gaston shifted slowly, side stepping ever so slightly every few seconds, waiting for that one swift movement that would signal her attack. When it finally came, he was just about ready for it, and half-turned on the spot, allowing the arrow to drift just past his chest. The gauntlet had now been thrown down.
With the same speed that Marian had attacked with, Gaston raised his bow and fired an arrow, pulling back the string as tight as he could before launching it in Marian's direction. He then quickly lowered the bow and pulled out another arrow, which he went on to launch just a few centimetres left of the first arrow, in an attempt to hit Marian if she dodged the first one towards the left. It was a gamble of sorts, as she could just as easily dodge right.

((*giggles* I don't see why, in a stressful adreniline-filled situation he couldn't do it once or twice. wink ))
-As luck would have it, Marian dodged the first arrow to the, almost far enough to miss the second shot infact, the second arrow impacting and grazing her shoulder, before flying past to clatter onto the stone beneath them.
Good GOD that hurt! But she simply hissed and snapped her mouth shut, pushing on as if nothing has happened.
Pulling two arrows from her bow, she set them both against the string before releasing them together, a move that'd send on high, towards his right shoulder, and the other low, towards his left thigh. Hopefully one would hit, whichever form of defense he managed.-

(( rofl *Forgets that no one catches arrows like Gaston* xp heart ))
Gaston laughed as Marian hissed. "What's the matter?" He jeered, completely absorbed in the battle. Apparently it wasn't only clothing that this World affected, as Gaston seemed to be getting nastier by the minute. His taunting didn't last long though, as Marian retaliated quicker than he expected.
He managed to dodge the top arrow by shifting his shoulder backwards. The other arrow however, managed to find its target. Gaston frowned deeply and looked down at his leg, only to find an arrow sticking out of it. His pride was hurt more than anything, as he didn't think Marian would get a single hit on him.
Muttering under his breath, he reached down towards the arrow and wrapped his hand around it. With one firm pull, it was out, leaving a bloody wound behind. It wasn't long before his smile returned though, as he flicked the arrow round in his finger tips and positioned it beside his bow, only to shoot it straight back at Marian.
