Speaking from a business point of view, if Cena got the title back, whio would the WWE send against him next? Umaga? too new. Shelton Benjamin? Not enough of a push. And what other Heels are there on RAW? Triple H (who had his shots) is currently a face with DX. WWE NEEDS for Edge to retain the title, and do it fairly, because that way Cena won't have a claim to it.
Now, WHEN Edge retains the title, there's not so much of a limit to who can go for it. ANY Face on RAW could challenge for it. Triple H; Ric Flair; Shawn Michaels; Carlito - any of them could challenge for the title.
From a business point of view, Edge needs to win at SummerSlam.

They can basically turn anyone heel, like Kane, then
there's any of the five memembers of the Spirit Squad.
The fact they could drag someone off another brand,
SmackDown! or ECW, so there's all that. sweatdrop
Also as much as I hate to bring up, bradland does have
quite an obvious point, there's Orton.

Orton was supposed to start a feud with HHH after SummerSlam, though those plans might be delayed as far as Hogan is concerned. depends how bad Hogan's knee is and where WWE decides to go with it.
