o_o I know three of us here has this game.. I'm still playing it since it's like.. the only great portable game I have at the moment. @_@

Anyway, I will soon be going to the level where you fight those 3 Inspectors I think.. Or defeat them for teh goodies they leave behind. I'm wondering how well I'll do... LoL.

Priorities of stage 15:

1) You got Graviton Launcher by having Viletta kill all the grunts in stage 6, right?

2) You upgraded the Hiryu Kai and gave Lefina SP Recovery on the space route, right? Lefina can be useful or nearly worthless in this stage.

3) This is important to remember. All Inspectors will lose 1 morale if they don't land an attack.

4) NEVER LET THEM TOUCH WHITE STAR!

5) You have two turns to gain morale. Use them wisely.

6) If an Inspector's prioritized unit is aboard the Hiryu Kai, the Hiryu Kai will become the Inspector's target.

7) ALWAYS STAY ON WHITE STAR!

Agiha - Silver Wind is probably the most dangerous machine, seeing as it has the highest speed and Bunshin (130 Morale). Kill her first. Seems to put a priority on downing Viletta. Remember to take advantage of Inspector's Morale loss to disable Bunshin.

Shikalog - Despite having the highest attack points, this is the easiest machine to destroy. It's agility is among the lowest of any units in the game. Seems to have it out for Ryuune, but will probably never hit her. A fun fact here is that Viletta can snipe him from one square out of his attack range with the Graviton Launcher. Be warned though. Of all the enemies in the game, Shikalog probably has one of the most noticable Potential effects, having 2000 Armor at this point. Yeah, he's easier later, but he's gonna take a long time to down.

Mekiboss - I've heard several translations for his machine, among them are Greater Kin, Grey Turkin, and Greater King. I prefer Greater Kin, but let's get back on topic. This is the middle ground between Silver Wind and Dorukin. As such, it's certainly the best performance wise, able to dodge like Weiss Ritter and take hits like Alt Eisen. Mekiboss takes his score up with Guilliam, who is arguably the best match up for this. This is where we reset the game a lot, lest you have the collective luck of Kyosuke Nanbu, Lowe Gear, and Shiro Amada. It must now be said that you MUST DESTROY MEKIBOSS LAST. Destroy Agiha and Shikalog in any order, but Mekiboss pops the items only if he goes down last. By now, if you gave Lefina the above preparations, this won't be so bad........otherwise, it's gonna be a long night.

Another fun fact is that the Turn Counter will not exceed 99. I was getting into the seventies on my way out of the stage and got curious.

Items Scored:

Soul of Steel (<3)

Hero's Mark (<3)

High Performance Upgrade (What they said)

Shishio Blade (Wish this had one more range......it's such a long sword)

G-Impact Stake (Alt Eisen begs for this, but I love seeing the little R-Blade lifting up the hulking Dorukin with one arm and pumping nails into it)

Thanks, even though I've already got most of it done. o_o' Unfortunately, I didn't have Lefina upgraded. o_O I guess it's because I took the Earth route instead of Moon, and I had no chance to upgrade them, or missed it or something. SP Recovery would help so much... @_@
PostPosted: Fri May 06, 2005 1:44 pm

Yeah, I took the Earth route my first time through. I got a thing for the Hagane/Kurogane.

.......*sniff*.........CAPTAIN DAITETSU!

Yeah, to strike back with a divine vengeance, I let Tetsuya tear through Lee...............quite literally.

ANYWAY, back on topic, it's here for future referrence and all the players here who may wanna look at it.

What really stinks is the lack of preparations you can take for this stage, being limited to the Graviton Launcher and Hiryu Kai. Makes you feel a bit helpless..........

Still, scoring those items is SO worth it! I love Alt Eisen having two stakes to stab n' shoot with.

Amazing.. I actually had time to finish the stage today. @_@

I never could stand that stage. I don't mind quicksaving and reloading occasionally (Zero from SRWR anyone?), but that stage required just too much. stare

The G-Impact Stake is awesome though... but it reminds me out of a weapon out of The Authority:

If Lefina can use Lock On every other turn with SP Recovery (Hers costs 20 SP, if I'm not mistaken), and the Hiryu Kai has some reasonable funding dumped into it (Maxed EN at the very least, and some investments in the Bowside Ultra Impact Canon), the battle becomes reasonably easier, but of course, such things would probably be best met on a replay.

I'm on my third time through, going into EX Hard. What screws me is that I'm a regular Hagane/Kurogane user, so my use of Lefina in the last game was somewhat limited. I did make use of Hiryu Kai, but only to get the support seishins of Sean and Lefina.

Hopefully it'll be enough to learn SP Recovery, or enough to let me earn it for her in the space route (Or the upcoming Megaroot/MP Huckebein Capture would be nice, provided I can score good kills with my usuals).

I have the ROM (I know, bad me...*bites own head off*) but I kind of lost interest in it because it was so hard (I got stuck on the fifth mission, how lame ._.;; ) and truthfully, I don't enjoy the OG games as much as the other SRW because I like getting to know the robots and pilots from a bunch of different anime...

I did buy the actual game for my best friend for his birthday, and he's on the second-to-last level. =O How cool is that? Sure he's stuck because it's insanely hard, but I still think it's cool that he got farther than I ever did... XD

I briefly played the rom to get the basic stuff written up for my FAQ but I couldn't stand touching the thing past four levels. Roms are icky horrible little file critters and I feel dirty having any association with them no matter how limited it is. stressed

I really should give Hard Mode a try... but I'm on this crazy Shining Soul II kick right now. sweatdrop

There's a Hard Mode? =O I'm scared now. XD

Heh, that stage was easy. Took those three out with only a few upgrades made to Hiryu Kai's Ultra Impact Cannon and EN. Had the Graviton Launcher, of course.

Several pointers:

1. The three Inspectors at the beginning declare their targets. Agirha aims for Ryune, Shkalog for the Hiryu Kai, and Mekiboss for Gilliam.
2. NEVER LET MEKIBOSS LAND NEXT TO ONE OF HIS ALLIES. It's NOT fun eating his Photon Beam Cannon support attacks.
3. Keep all your units in a square formation. Preferably with Viletta and Ryune next to Hiryu Kai and Gilliam opposite the ship. You want to have Viletta SA'd by Hiryu Kai or Ryune, and Gilliam by the other.
4. Keep Hiryu Kai at LEAST four squares - but not more than six - away from Shkalog. You want to stay out of hammer range, but not so far that he'll move closer when his status missiles run dry.

okay I'm actually trying to finish my first time through on this game, ( And yes I am posting here as a way to get more gold for Gaia), I'm at level 40. but I missed my chance for Ash saver. stressed I swear I got the events right, but it didn't seem to happen. anyone know maybe a reliable way to get Lamia's hidden Mechs, so that perhaps on my second time through I'll get it right? it bothers me not to have a good completion. sweatdrop my biggest upset though was not getting the shion blade.

You can't get Ash Saber or Vysaga on your first playthrough.
