Lightless Caves

Darkness surrounds you. At this point you're so far into the earth that not a dot of natrual light can be seen. Even the torches set up in the earlier caverns are not present here.

If you do happen to bring some light, you'll see a rather unassuming cave. A pool of water, some rocks... A large immobile rusted metal sphere with strange markings. Nothing out of the ordinary.

"Damn it!"

Muttering as the light failed on him once more Quin was iritated, but at least there was room to stand for the time being. Just bringing into existance a orb of light instead of doing the unproductive method he'd been doing he was able to get a much sharper illiumination and actually take in what was around him.

"What the ******** is that?"

Not speaking to anyone in particular Quin moved hurridly over to inspect the rather large spehere. It was covered with rust, was it iron, steel? He couldn't be for sure whatever it was except that it was old.

Whatever the thing was it was a fine and he had to get word to others somehow. That ment getting back up top or back to base and Quin didn't think he packed a radio with him when he left and it most likely wouldn't even work this far under ground if he had one.

So he had to return to the Dank Caverns.

"********, anyone got a light?"

One jokster took out his lighter and handed it to the man.

"Not funny."

The other took out an electric torch and gave them some light to see what was happening. They had travelled into a cavern where no natural light penitrated. It was rather spooky and it gave them pause before they set up their equipment.

"You know we may die here."

"Who would fight over this piece of s**t?"

"Then why are we here?"

The other just shrugged as he set up the radio and sent a message with a burst of static that they had taken the lightless caves.

"Anyone got a deck?"

And a game of cards promptly ensued, the men would pause though and listen to the radio. Their guns close at hand. There was little chance to catch them by surprise and they still had some dynamite with them.

And a light they got, rather rapidly I may add. The metal orb suddenlt burst open, a metalic scraping sound and shooting light from the cracks. The lightless caves were no longer lightless.

The orb had blossomed like a flower, and inside was a statue of a shapely female, it was like the Venus in ancient metals. Though she wasn't making an effort to cover herself, instead in outstreched hands the stature held a glowing orb. It apeared to be some sort of polished green crystal with an intricate metal protective mesh.

Only worthy adventures would be able to take it. Sorry to the greedy NPCs.

Sam walked in...and it was a cavern....an empty resevoir...except it wasn't empty...It had a shiny just sorta...sitting there...Lovely. "It just doesn't end..." She muttered to herself and ran over to the statue. "Maybe this will be worth a bonus...or something"

She picked it up, all of it that she could, then slipped into her bag, you know, the portable hole one. Nice little bit that.

Sam would soon pick up a nice looking orb in a statues hands.

When you pick up the artifact you can feel the magic flow through you. It's almost like the artifact is tethered to the center of the valley with an invisible magic chain... Which, well, it is. The creators of this orb made sure it was connected to the place it was found. Unfortunately, the magic "Chain" runs out right outside of your base. The bright woods south, The Field of stumps and the Bleached overlook. Saftey may be out of reach, but not for long. You can feel the magic chain weakening by the moment.

As Sam tried to yank the orb into the bag she would find resistance from the chain. Apparantly it didn't want to go in to this container, or any container at that.

Someone who knew their magic could feel this would take about three hours. Though someone without any magical sense would also notice the crystal part of the artifact was glowing their favorite colour...

And any idiot could notitice their very person was now glowing softly that same hue.

"******** Falis, ******** Flais, ******** Falis...." Not the best of curses, but right now...glowing things, Falis' little glowies and the like were her least favorite things. Nothing was ever simple. She didn't know she couldn't run, so her first thought....Home base. SAFE.

Stupid girl...things are never simple.

But she was off.

Wheee!

And she went that a way....Injured, battered and bruises and now...even bloodied.Once the water stopped, she didn't. She just kept going the way the water was flowing.

Hein sputtered and spit as he and 5 UGH members began to wade through the water while very pissed. Very very pissed.

And on their pissy way, they met a pissy man, and that pissy man had a pissy wife. And by God did they want to go pissy on their grass, but instead, they just floated down the water and into the Reservoir, ignoring the entirely hypothetical situation in their minds.

It was dark in here...

Click.

It was no longer dark in here. A flashlight beam shone at the end of the MP5 in his right hand. He got the idea that this dark cave was kinda just that, a dark cave. Jacknife decided that since this was just a dark cave, there was no reason to spend more time in here.

Jacknife found the happy little exit to the dark creepy caves. So he made his happy little exit, in a dark creepy way.
