ok I was browsing the feedback forum because I had soem issues with the new layering and came across this thread

no matter how much I try to explain that more subforums and stickies actually make it harder to keep things organized due to the workload on mods...... they just don't seem to get it

so my question is this

Does the average gaian just not understand the logistichs of moderating a forum?

To answer your questing..no not really

Now A days the average Gaian is only intrested in Gold and getting boob signs. They have no idea how the website is runed at all.

At least that is how I see things

that is about the impression I am getting to

I have attempted to explain the logistics of running a forum with the traffic of the VGD..... but the guys in that thread just do not seem to understand

I think its the fact that close to 54% of Gaia hangs out in either the GD or Chatterbox and since does the Forums are pretty much down the drain and dont have any guidelines at all Idiots users beleave that is how the entire site is run so in truth the VGD isnt as bad as we all make it seem The mods may take A while but they get the job done some times to harshly but they do A good job in keep the forum in order.

I have just been explainign what Beramode and Ryonin have told me when I hasked them abotu stickies or subforums being added

yet explainign what two mods have told me...... apparently makes me smug and close minded

Obviously not, because I see a topic suggesting a Versus subforum every fortnight or so. They always fight, when the reason why such a thing can't be done has been explained repeatedly and in great detail.

Oh dear lord, they looked stupid!

The only things I really see that the forum needs is maybe a way to keep at the VS. topics together, and maybe another mod... some spam topics in there stay for hours, when they should be gone in at least 15 minutes at the most D=

Off topic: Heh, I remembered when I joined myspace... I deleted Tom off my friendlist because I didn't know who he was =P

I used to think like that for a while. But the moment where I started to report ToS breakers and started helping out in a guild, that's when I realized that controlling forums and stuff is tricky work.

Until those people at least try to keep Gaia in order, they'll never learn.

well I deliberatly left out the fact that I used to Admin two Invision forums, and that I do mod several guilds on gaia when I was in that thread

I mean when you are actually in the shoes of the mods of a forum you start to understand some things a little more...... like how much work it is to actually watch and moderate multiple subforums

It works in this guild because each subforum has dedicated moderators, but they would have to double the number of mods in the VGD in order to accomplish that
