I'm thinking about taking up the 8 Precepts for one or two days a month from now on, but...

I know one of the precepts is to not wear jewelry and perfume. I got a bellybutton ring a couple months ago and I have to keep it in until around february or it will close, which I obviously don't want to happen. I especially don't want it to close because it was my brother's gift to me before he went off to Texas to train for the war.
So... what should I do? It's not like it's a huge, glittery one and not a lot of people see it in the first place as I generally don't wear bellyshirts.

Also, do you all think nail polish would be against the precepts as well? I don't think it is, but you never know...
