We're just traditonal. We don't high step very often (thank God), but we add visuals. We added the first one just a few days ago. And I nearly blew it in our half-time show. redface

Dancing and lots of flashy body moves?
In my band director's words "Band, we don't do that here."
We do some body moves, but we don't do bicycle stepping. We've got a straight leg approach and pivots for turns and all of that sort of DCI style stuff.

I march in a military-style marching band. It must be perfectly straight alignment to look awesome, torqued turns as we call 'em, and there's many a confusing moment out there when we learn new stuff. "Number intense sections", or places where a load of people have different #s is favored this year so far starting a few weeks ago. Our first show was all straightforward. Easy countermarching and crazy/rear marches.

[[ Helios ]] I was just wondering... I'm in a show band. We swing our instruments whilst we march, we chair step all the time, we dance around on stand still tunes, etc. Also in out fourth tune of each show we do a coreographed (sp?) dance. This year's is extremely hard because it ends with the entire band going down into splits. lol we are a show band and we do the same thing but we change shows...u think on song going down into the splits is hard try going down in the in 2 out of three songs and then like 100 times in band camp and practice >.< Its not hard lol it may take awhile to get used to though

I don't know what style we are. We do the chop step when we run on the field. We do the rolled step,flanks, to the rear, pinwheels,slides, to the box, backwards marching, and we dance. 3nodding

Our band is traditional. I wish we did some things that show bands do... but, we don't because a lot of people in my band are stupid, so our band teacher won't let us....
