((For Gaius and Aislinn only, for the moment. A more serious moment. <3))
Aislinn settled by the tree, staring up as the clouds slowly made their movement across the sky. Normally, this would be the sort of day she'd do her best to hobble about cheerfully greeting everyone, possibly start up a drinking game of some sort...anything to get the tone of the island back to positive.
Last night had been terrible, though. The pains that wracked her body...and the things that had changed. Well, she couldn't be angry about all of them. The lower half of her body was knit beautifully well back together, as it had been before her accident. It was also significantly hairier than it had ever been, though, something she hadn't really thought about when she'd been wishing her changes to hurry.
That had been easy enough to cover, though. She just wasn't wearing shorts. And she had some long-sleeved shirts to cover the fur that seemed to be developing on her arms...but the ears, those had been trickier. They were getting long and furry..and her hair was starting to turn gray. To hide that, she'd required a hat and it'd taken quite a bit of shuffling around until she produced a bucket hat that would serve the purpose.
But it was -hot- here on the island, and all the long-sleeved clothing items were causing her to sweat like a pig.
...She was pretty sure that wasn't it, though.

Gaius whistled merrily as he strolled along through the duplex commons towards the edge of the jungle. Still un-touched by the changes, he'd donned a light shirt and kapri shorts to survive the pressing island heat.
Today, his goal was to see a bit of what lay beyond the trees. He'd heard scary tales from the other islanders, but surely he'd be okay if he didn't go too far in, right?
His progress was halted, however, as he came across a lone figure sitting under the trees ahead. She was all bundled up, looking highly uncomfortable to Gaius. A bit concerned, he made his way over towards her. If she wasn't careful, she could get a heat stroke.
"Hey! You doing okay?"

Aislinn blinked, looking up at the other. He obviously hadn't experienced any of -his- changes yet. Unless he was turning into a human, "Yeah, just lovely," she harrumped, pulling her knees to her chest and hugging them tightly.
Just what she needed-- prying eyes. She wasn't sure -when- she'd be ready to let people know about the changes. Unless, of course, they figured it out on their own. But she was pretty sure she'd managed to hide it all properly.

Gaius halted a couple yards away, put off by the girl's remark. He scratched at the back of his neck awkwardly. "Er, uh, sorry... I didn't mean to intrude. You just looked kinda, uh, uncomfortable. Aren't you... hot?"
He didn't mean to be nosy, but something about her struck him as 'off.' She certainly didn't look happy. "Maybe I could get you some water or something?"

Considering Aislinn's usual cheerful attitude, it wasn't all that surprising that Gaius was put off by this grumpiness.
She sighed, waving him to go ahead and join her already, "I'm a little warm," she admitted, "but it's better than being ugly."
Right, so, keeping her transformation a secret wasn't working out that well afterall. She couldn't help it! It was awful and she wanted to share that with -someone-.

Taking the wave as an invitation, Gaius set himself down on the grass a respectful distance from Ais. Her statement caused him to tilt his head in confusion, looking her over. "Ugly? You're not ugly! You look the same as always, except the hat's new... But, er..." He fumbled slightly, looking down. "At least, I don't think you're ugly."

Aislinn frowned, tugging at the edges of the hat. She really didn't like it much-- hats had never been her thing. She'd much rather show off her brightly-dyed hair.
"Er. Well, that's because I hid it well," she explained, clenching her fingers tightly around the loose jean fabric, "Because I don't want anyone to see."
