Last March my mom had ISH in the car and I fell in love with it! I also started dating my current boyfriend a week or so later, and he also loves Green Day, so people started to get the impression I was only saying I liked Green Day to impress him, which is totally untrue! I simply found a guy who liked the same band as me after taking a liking to the band myself.

Hate me all you want, for the hell I don't care, but I just started listening to them only in January, 2005. mad
I listened to Green Day on and off since 1997, like...only on the radio...and my sister liked them. I hated rock then, and only liked pop, and I was a huge fan of The Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. I was born late, so shut up.
What got me into Green Day, I must admit, was American Idiot. I knew them for a while, but never liked them. I heard Boulevard of Broken Dreams on the radio, and I thought it was the crappiest song ever. It was then I found out it was Green Day, and I started to like BoBD, then I got obsessed. I researched about them online...........and then made my friend buy AI for my b-day present. I went back and found Dookie in my sister's pile of old CDs. I listened to their older songs more often, and....yeah.
Really, their old songs are much better than AI. xP Hate me. mad Because I'm a late fan.

I started listening to them right about the time American idiot came out. I wasn't really greatly into music until them. Just over the last year I've become greatly obsessed with it. The first Green Day I've ever heard is American Idiot (Yes I lived under a rock) I used to live on Cape Breton island in Nova Scotia and there really wasn't all that much stuff there. So I really wasn't given the chance.
We moved to Iowa 4 years ago (Which isn't much better...X.X) But I atleaste have some good music now! Woot! American Idiot was the first C.D. I bought and sense then I've branched out into earlier Green Day and become sadly obsessed... I now have all of there C.D.'s except for three of them which I'm dilagently searching for. So even though I haven't been listening to them as long as some people. I still adore them just as much as any other True Blue Green Day fan here. There the band that got me into punk rock music and stuff so I owe all of that to them and I love all of them to death.
