Kuri grinned and kicked the cigarette into the gutter not carrying if it got washed away or remained there for a while. Obsidian was a spitfire to be sure and she was matching word for word every thing that Makito had told him about her on his first night home. It was then that Kuri figured he was starting to like this kid for her attitude and grace, not to mention that she didn't seem terrified or even slightly out of place here.
"Right then, let's get going. I've got to stop by my house to grab the helmets we'll be needing so if you'll pop on inside and let my brother and Michihi know that you'll be going out I'd appriciate it. When you're done wait here and I'll be right back."
He gave a wave of his hand and turned to go back towards the opposite house, his long legs giving him a stride that cleared the distance with little to no effort. This was sure to be an adventure for both of them.

Obie watched him for a moment, then turned and stepped back into the genkan to slip her shoes off. Padding softly through the house, she followed the sound of a TV until she found Michihi and Shino. Not entirely sure which one she should address, she gave them both a small smile.
"Shino-san, Michihi-chan... Kuri-san has invited me to go out with him for a bit and I would like to go with him. Is that alright?" she asked, looking between the two of them.

Michihi turned and leaned over the back of the couch, a potatoe chip in her mouth as she blinked to see who was addressing her. Once it came to her mind that the person in question was Obsidian she quickly pulled the snack out and stood up, pushing Shino over. Shino merely dropped a bit more to the side and let out a small groan, a clear sign that he had fallen asleep while staying at Michihi's side.
"Ah, Obsidian-dono! You're going out with Kuri-oniisan, that's a pleasant surprise. I don't mind at all and I'm sure Shino-oniisan doesn't mind either, but is it okay with Isabel-dono? She's still upstairs sleeping, or should be by my last check. Would you like me to let her know where you are and who you are with when she awakens later?"
By this time Shino had somewhat awoken and was eating a few potatoe chips out of Michihi's bag, causing the younger girl to let out a few words of protest and pelt him against the head with a couch pillow. Despite her manners Michihi was still a young girl and had food grudges to spare.
"But if you do want to go out, please take care. You'll be more than safe here in Hokkaido to begin with and since you will be with Kuri-oniisan I have no worries for you at all. Do you want our home number just in case though?"

As Obie listened to little Michihi, she had the strangest urge to just wrap her up in a big hug. True she was not much younger than herself, but she was so sweet and adorably thoughtful.
"Um... if you could, that is if my sister wakes before we return, could you please not tell her who I'm with? I'm sure she'll end up figuring it out, but if she doesn't, I'd rather her not know please," she said, flushing slightly. She just really did not want to deal with Isabel's cutting remarks if they could be spared. "As for your number... if you please?" she asked, taking out her phone and handing it over to Michihi so she could enter it for her.

"Of course, I'd be more than happy to follow your requests."
Michihi had almost said commands but stopped short of it when she was handed the phone. She proceeded to enter the number into the phone book with little to no difficulty, every now and then pausing to kick Shino away from her chip bag and say something to him in Japanese that would make the older boy shrug and go back to sleep.
"There you are Obsidian-dono. I've entered our home number under 'Nanahara' and I've also given you the number to Kuri-oniisan's house under 'Saieki'. I've also given you my personal number under 'Nanahara Michihi' if something comes up that you do not wish for the whole family to know about, or if you ever wish to call me when you go back to your academy."
She smiled and handed the phone back over less than four minutes after Obsidian had given it to her, showing that once again despite her manners Michihi was a very healthy and average teenage girl.
"Kuri-oniisan should be waiting outside for you now, so don't keep him waiting. I'll be hoping to see you both again this evening, please don't eat while you're out. Okaasan is making some oden just for you and Isabel-dono using her secret recipe so I hope you'll have room for it."

"Domo arigato Michihi-chan," Obie smiled warmly at her as she gave her a small bow. "You are really more than kind."
With that, she turned and slipped her phone back into her pocket as she hurried back to the genkan to slip her shoes back on. Hopping a little as her left one gave her some trouble, she finally managed to get it on and slipped out the door as she straightened her pants leg and gave her hair a bit of a toss.

"There you are, thought you'd drowned or something. I hope you managed to get everything sorted out?"
Kuri was standing outside the door when Obsidian came out, a grin on his features and a helmet on his head. It made him look a little alien yet happy at the same time so it could easily be ignored which was the best thing to do.
"Here's a helmet for you and a rubberband should you want to tie your hair back before the ride. Wouldn't want you to get it messed up since I hear that hair is the pride of a woman...or something like that. I should pay more attention when Kaachan's saying things, seriously."
He shrugged and held out both of the objects, his blue eyes resting on Obsidian without a single faulter.

Obie jumped slightly when she heard Kuri's voice so near her, but gave him a smile none-the-less. Reaching out for the rubberband, she make quick work of braiding her hair in a long, tight braid and tied it off. Returning the look he gave her, she tossed her braid over her shoulder and took the helmet from him.
"Ready when you are," she smiled and slipped the helmet on.
