We met Jason's mom in Santa Fe after Jason got off work and dropped Jade off with her. She was pretty sad that she was going to be 4 nights without us, but the times we've called to check up on her, she was having fun with Jason's youngest sister (11). We stopped on our way back at a Mexican restaurant called Gabriel's where we haven't been in about a decade, and it was SOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!!! I was in heaven! They make homemade guacamole right in front of you (if you order it, of course.. it's $10, but there's a LOT of it, and it's divine!) and now I know the ingredients and preparation (which I might add to the recipes thread after this!) And the rest of the food tasted fresh roasted and authentic! Everybody going in and out told the people waiting that it was worth the wait, and it so was! We're staying up a little later than usual tonight because Jade's not here, Jason gets up an hour later than usual tomorrow, and he's only working til noon, so it doesn't feel like a work day to him. It feels odd without Jade here.. I feel kind of... lost! I bet this is how I'll feel when she starts kindergarten in 2 weeks!

I bet this is how I'll feel when she starts kindergarten in 2 weeks! it is gonna feel wierd at first...all 3 of mine are going to school...they started on the 1st....and let me tell you..first day i was like..where is the noise...i am slowly getting use to it...its the first time in almost 5 years that i have been without any kidlets here....but they are all loving school....so that is good...and being at the headstart thye are helpign with the potty training of the twins...which is awesome cause stephen finally lets me know when he needs to go....its been a great first week xd

You totally deserve your break during the days from three little ones! It's great they're all at school at once, and that the twins are starting to potty train! We had a FABULOUS time on our little mini vacation! I will show some photos of some of the places we went when Jason gets them uploaded, but I keep reminding him about the ones of baby Alisha too and that hasn't happened yet..
We ate at some nice little local restaurants, got treated to homemade breakfast burritos by the lodge owner, went on hikes, saw waterfalls, viewed elk through a telescope out in the caldera, collected fossils, and spent some good quality time like we haven't gotten in 9 years! 4laugh

sounds fabulous!
i do think that when a couple has children they become Mom and Dad and sort of forget what it was like before an little additions arrived.

Poppetta sounds fabulous! i do think that when a couple has children they become Mom and Dad and sort of forget what it was like before an little additions arrived. i hope you do this more often 3nodding Yeah, and Jason's mom is really encouraging this and says she can take Jade any weekend we just feel like being alone, even if we don't go anywhere special! She's the whole reason we finally went in the first place because she pretty much insisted she would collect Jade the day before we left and return her the day after, and she almost forced Jason to call and make lodge reservations! lol She knows how nice it is to have a break, as she with her 11 children didn't get a vacation without them until she and I went to Egypt together in 2000! So, she dropped Jade off about an hour and a half ago and they just left to go return to Albuquerque after they stop through Santa Fe for a day of shopping and fun. 3nodding Jade's already back into her usual routine, although she had a blast with her cousins and they say she was really well behaved! mrgreen

i was going to ask if she got along ok, most little ones do i think, though the initial thought of being without Mommy is a bit scary.
but if, like Jade was, they have plenty of other family members around them they're usually fine, she wont make a fuss next time you decide to have a weekend to yourselves 3nodding
