I'm a Gemini Rising, but I find myself to get along quite well with a Cancer Ascendant. So ahh, anyone?

What exactly is your question? You're not sure which ascendant you have?
If you use astrodienst (www.astro.com), it should be accurate (so long as you know your birth time) because it automatically incorporates daylight saving and so on.
If you get along well with people who have cancer rising - do you have anything else in your chart (planets in water signs, etc) that might explain it?
Someone with a cancer ascendant will come across as cancerian, so it may just be that you're drawn to cancerians/get along well with them.
