"Hmm..." One finger lightly tilted the delicate article to one side, then rolled it back curiously. "It's... definitely magic." The man's tone was clearly sarcastic as he leaned back in his chair.

Nothin'. That's what this thing did. Which usually meant trouble. "You're not going to have night terrors like Laiou are you?" As if the thing in his hand would answer the question. It was a bad habit he'd picked up from when Shae was a wand. As the saying went, bad habits die hard. So here he was still talking to inanimate objects that clearly couldn't hear him. Everything from thought to be explosive gemrocks to... "Relics."

And it was such a lot of trouble to get too. Oh yes, he'd risk life and limb to get it. Tomb raider style. What with dodging the crowds and not getting run over when everone panicked. Truly a rare business. And he'd managed it, oh yes. Braving the frightening mounds of party goers for it all. Because he had to meet with someone.

Right, well as least he hadn't brought the children.

He could feel a part of him dying as he dared to think about what would have happened if the kids had been there. Keanu would have run off to find the problem and 'save' everyone. Arianna would have tried to make her great escape. Everyone in the building and likely five miles away would have heard Laiou's screech of fright. Who next? Oh the twins. Well hopefully he would have still had them in their kiddy carriers. If not, then there would have been missing mischiefous racoons on the loose. As for Jeanus... Jeanus would have caused the problem. He wasn't sure how, but he knew it would have been Jeanus' fault. Oh... But he was forgetting Evani. The child might have pick pocketed someone. Wouldn't that have been wonderful... he would have loved to be there.

Definitely never take those children to any formal events. Ever.

Now where was he. Oh yes, contemplating the wonders of the latest children.

Or thing as it was.

He continued to rock the thing in his hand, careful not to break the delicate parts. "Mm... I wonder what you've got to do with anything. You two don't look all that similar." He mumbled, tilting his head at the thing. "Maybe at least one of you will be normal?" Oh yes, that would be the day. He'd have to pay with some strange completely insane child to get anything normal. It was never going to happen. "You definitely don't look like you've had the best of times." He continued in his half daydreaming speech as he lightly prodded the beaten up metalic wing.

"OUCH!" Maybe that wasn't such a good idea. He'd instantly withdrawn his finger to suck on it where a thin red drop was forming. It looked more fragile than it was, but it was definitely as sharp as it looked. "You're going to be evil to me too, aren't you?" He mumbled quietly eyeing the thing suspiciously.

Great, nothing was simple as a parent.

Well, the thing hadn't caused more trouble. It'd been good and sat on it's shelf like a nice... relic should. Oh sure, it was a magic relic bound to backfire eventually, but for now it seemed more than happy to sit. And sitting things were good things.

It also served as a great paperweight. Which was it's current occupation. Last minute calls often meant Raja was sort of lacking in time, which meant you grabbed what was availabel on hand. That meant the relic was shoved on top of a pile as he attempted to make his way through what could only be called a sickeningly large stack of work that had been piled on. He was supposed to have the day off, supposed to! That meant little with work though. Oh yes, calling in last minute to tell him he needed to get a project finished overnight was brilliant. Especially when it meant your job apparently.

The threat did work wonders though. He suddenly felt as if he could finish anything, because otherwise he'd have to deal with finding some other way to support the family. Not the best of things to look forward to. So on with the blueprints he went for some showing he was supposed to do later. Nearly done too. Thank god for that, the last time he'd dared to glance at the clock it had been 1AM, which meant it had to be later now. Or earlier, depending on how you looked at it.

That aside, he was tired. A few more quick scrawls that looked good before he deemed it sufficient and slumped back and closed his eyes. "Rest... finally..." Ah yes, he was going to bed at... a quick glance, three. Three in the morning. Perfect, and work was at seven. They'd better let him sleep durring the presentation. He closed his eyes and rubbed at them briefly before stopping as a rattling noise drew his attention. What now?

One hand withdrew, the eye opening slightly to see if the desk had decided to become possessed. Nope. Looked fin- oh hell.

"You where behaving so well too." It was more of a quiet mutter as he eyed the shaking object a moment before thinking to shift it to the floor. Better to not have whatever it was doing mess up his work. "So what exactly are you going to do next?" He mumbled, taking a few steps back as the thing shook and wobbled arund on the floor. The once pale gray shifting to more vibrant hues. One a pale purple the other a reddish hue. It didn't stop there though, no shortly after all the gray seemed to have left it the thing lit up slightly before abits of what seemed to be light flew out of it. Just a few but before long a sort of bubble was made with them around the where the relic had been sitting. It remained like that for a few minutes, this blinding array of light in the middle of the room. Then all at once it seemed utterly dark.

The light went out and revealed just what it had to offer. Not one, but two young children sitting on the ground. If you could call them that. Though humanoid in nature the pair weren't exactly normal. One was the pale purple and shared the looks of one of the two animals that had previously been the relic. The other was it's counterpart, red with darker markings on it. Both looked a bit confused, though the reddish one seemed to get it's ground first.

"I KNEW IT! THEY DID IT AGAIN!" Was the first thing out of the young girl's mouth as she quickly started to shove herself up, both darker marked arms flailing a bit. "They messed with my head!" She didn't bother to mention just who these they where, just that.

As for the other, she simply stared in disbelief as once more Raja came to the conclusion he'd been right. He'd never have anyone normal in his house. Never. They always sent the wierdest thing in his direction. Simple as that.
