A precious Ingenue Jeebus. Not another Erik was real thread. Erik's name was just that. Not Eric, The Phantom, The ugly ghost guy. Erik WITH A "K"! Chill out. So the person who did the article wasn't that smart, big deal. This is still a discussion topic.

Personally, I think he did exist, but maybe not in the way Leroux wrote the book. Maybe every version of Phantom, lest it is Kay, Leroux, or whatever other books there are, it may tell some truth about Erik's life, and death.
For all I know, the article got one other thing wrong beside the name. It said that the skeleton was "large, and very masculine". Was he or was he[Erik] not a supposed walking skeleton? Then how could this be large and masculine? I say that article is a heap of garbage. It is well written for the unsuspecting Phan to read, however.

He could have had big bones. Plus, he's male isn't he? I came across another article someone wrote in 1994, but it seems more like a summary of Kay's book than an actual re-counting of a deformed man's life in the 1880s.

I hadn't thought of that. As for the bottom of your statement, I've got no comeback for that.

Personally I'm not too quick to believe he was alive. I would need to see pictures of that skeleton (though depending, the skull couild've been deformed by a blow to the head or just natural rotting/whatever) and older documentation, which would be difficult to procure. It's a cute thought, though.
