i love finland..i hope to visit it someday( i will) though i really want to live in japan, not for anime, but because of the technology. my grandparents lived on china and they say its pretty cool...im not sure how it might be on japan, but ivd seen documentaries and stuff and its really kool. also, the career im going for involves a lot of graphic design and etc, and japan is basically the best place to study it, though im probably going to study here only cause i dont understand any japanese and im not thinking on learning it any time soon...but i will...someday.

i read that finland is the third country in the world with the best education? is this true? eek

Japan can be a really tough place to live. You'd need work harder than hard. surprised But I guess if one wont be afraid of the challenge, it might be ok.

And when it comes to Finnish schools, we must remember that they're free for anyone. They offer high level education to anyone willing with only VERY few expenses, and those vary from school to school and are around €5-10 (atleast in the school I used to go to). All school meals are free however.

Although technically it's not free. We sort of pay for it through taxes.

Well might be... Japan is above, but I don't remember the other one above...

I think... like pikku-timppa said that its because free schools... At cllage you have to pay your food at school, but it's like 3 €/ 4 dollars for full warm meal...

Not all are silent. biggrin
Theres a guy named Pasi.
He was quiet at first then all he could do was talk,talk,talk....

My friend is also exclusion from this rule!
He talks a lot too: tells stories, jokes, news, and I rarely have a chance to tell something.
I used to think I was talkative, before I met him... sweatdrop

I think that "Finns are silent" sterotypia comes from that we don't have chit-chat to fill silent moments and we don't speak much to the strangers...

but with friends finns can be VERY talkative...

But when it comes to finnish teen girls... They suck. neutral Sure there are the exceptions, but they still suck. They're only (read: mostly) interested in drinking and having random sex with people.

I'm sixteen and an absolutist, too. Most of my friends drink, some more, some less. It's really an issue to me, so I've started to make more mormon friends... they don't drink, you see. And they're really nice people. At least all of the ones I've talked so far... -__-

Turku you, as my mom uses to say.

In general, Finns do drink too much. We also drink coffee more than any other country and Spanish friend of mine who visited Finland, told that their cappuccino is less strong as our normal coffee. So.. Being as much in dark and cold seems to encourage to that.

But I still say that drinking with your brains where they're supposed to be and also remembering to use both halves of those is key to drinking alcohol. Its relaxing and fun to take some from time to time, but I'd never aim to get passed out. Actually, I'm twenty-seven soon and that has never happened.
