I've never had a very good idea of what they are to begin with, honestly. sweatdrop

Well, they are pretty expensive units however, in my opinion anyways, their saving grace and reason why I like to field them, is because all their weapons have ignores cover, and their save is 3+ invulnerable, they are also slow and purposeful so they can fire the heavy weapons and still move, they are fearless and have fear which is pretty much the same, and you can reroll their scatter if you want.
So, great against Tyranids then. pirate On all counts, pretty much...

Yep, I usually take flame units against squishy armies, and the one time I fought a swarm army that covered half the board I managed to deep strike behind the hoard and they did the most damage out of everything I had, nearly wiping out forty models before being swarmed.

Unless they are charged that is. wink

Slow and Purposeful means they cannot perform overwatch fire.

What are your thoughts on proxy-ing a Chapter Master as a biker?

The character I'm trying to portray is lightning-fast and extremely tough, so I'm considering paying points for a bike and putting him on a bike base to demonstrate that he's using those rules. As long as he's on a bike base, do you think it's clear enough that he has those abilities?

As far as I can tell that should be completely game legal.

As far as I know,
It needs to have a bike to be on a bike-base (What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) ),
on more casual games thought I think it´s alright,
aslong you make sure that´s what it is to your opponent.

Why not a jump pack instead?

Jump pack doesn't have a toughness bonus or an every-time Hammer of Wrath.

What if I stylized the base to have a ruined bike along the bottom, with the character leaping across it?

How would you justify the twin-linked bolter tho?

I could do the quintessential injured Space Marine on his back with a raised and firing bolter as part of the base. pirate

Will the other "bikers" also be running dudes?

No other bikers, this concept is for a standalone character. 3nodding
