yay for guitars! thanks for the compliment on the pretty--of course, it is my second guitar, and as the first was a 60 dollar yamaha, the step up to a 600 dollar Ibanez required an upgrade in pretty as well.

whateva. I have no "mad skillage".... on the guitar, I have, perhaps, skillage. I have mad vocal skills. that's about it.....lol.

@Mafupafup: I've played since I was about 9 (lol..10 years!) off and on. In all that time, though, only about 4 or 5 lessons, so....It's like I've been playing and going to lessons for about a solid two years....

and I just realized, it's actually my third guitar. I had a kid sized guitar when I first picked it up at 8 or 9..... mrgreen I've owned three guitars..........heehee.....

my favorite part of playing guitar is just getting something...I mean, that minute that something clicks happens with everything, but with guitar, it is so awesome to conquer a new lick or intro or heck, even chord! I mean, the first time I sucessfully played an F chord...I think I cried, I was so happy.

oh, I screw up plenty... sweatdrop seriously, I am a better vocalist and a better guitarist when the two don't go together, because I am definitely NOT a queen of the multi-tasking. But you can use skill with one to mask it when you aren't as good at the other. I mask crappy transitions with vocals, my friend masks his, uh, slightly out of key singing with some mad guitar skills.

basically, I practice the two seperately more than I practice them together. Guitar becomes muscle memory after a while--unfortunately, not so much with vocals. But the less you have to think about what your hands are doing, the more you can focus on the words you have to form....
