Are the fish brought in from the ocean disturbing the natural balance and are Tank raised fish a safer choice when purchasing a saltwater fish?

The answers are no... Tank raised or wild caught have the same chance of survival rate in a home aquarium...

Usually ocean caught fish are taken from a man made reef and are always watched by the governments of that country...

Tank raised fish might seem safer... Usually they carry tank killing dieases from inbreeding and unsuccessful seasonl changes that need to occur to produce healthier offspring...

You know usually people give others a chance to answer a queston to a poll until they answer it themselves

Tank bred fish are usually better suited to life in an aquarium setting.

Ocean caught fish are more easily stressed and can bring all kinds of diseases into a tank.

basically tank raised are better suited to life in a aquarium becuse they eat better act better. while wild caugth are more prone to eating problems and more aggresize when put in confined spaces. they also tend to bring in disses and are stressed out alot more then there captive freinds.

The quality of tank raised versus wild caught fish can be a huge difference. Take banggai cardinalfish for example: the wild caught fish tend to be hard to feed and are prone to disease, while tank raised fish are very easy to keep and feed and are often suggested to new hobbyists.

Edit: They are now on the endangered species list, so I urge everyone to boycott the purchase of wild caught specimens.

im sorry, but this thread promotes negative IQ
"Ocean caught fish are more easily stressed"
super goo nailed it on the head
captive bred fish are naturally adapted to life in an aquarium (captivity, hence, "captive-bred"). & well, jacking a fish out of the ocean, will make it stressed, GUARENTEED. plus it's just downright sad and wrong. you can read it anywhere you like.
