Lets see...
Relic weapons that you initially get in their first stage from Dynamis are DMG:1 Delay:999. That's stage 1. Stage 5 is the stage you want for the final forms. They are the highest base damage and possibly lowest delay (varies by weapon type) for all of them. Pretty much, their stats are the best. Also, depending on weapons, they'll either give you ACC+20 or ATK+20 along with their own WSs as well as their own additional effect and...Yeah...They pretty much have different stats that are pretty good.
Now...This doesn't mean they'll give you "OMFG I AM TEH GOD!!! I PWNZ EVERYTHING!" type damage you want with their WSs and etc. BUT these WSs allow you to follow up a Lv.3 SC (Light or Darkness) with another Lv.3 depending on the weapon and which SC was used so you can do another Light after a Light SC or a Darkness after a Darkness SC.
These WSs also have some additional effects once they make contact and etc.
Now for the final point...There's two things having a relic weapon really means: (1)your LS is dedicated to doing Dynamis enough times to help you and (2)you have a LOT of gil. If anything these things take hundreds of millions of gil to fully upgrade.
If I remember right, the only relics that are truely worth upgrading are the PLD's Shield and the BRD's horn.

um what r the stats of relic weapons?as in stat boosters 4 all of em?

There are 5 stages for each weapon the stats are different for each weapon and its an item you will pretty much never touch. Just drool over the JPs and very few dedicated NA players that have them or go to youtbue.com and search "wsfrenzy" and watch em all =D.

Hard to say stats because there's a relic for each and every weapon type as well as the shield and horn for BRD the relics. Just need to look on sites to find the stats.

We're upgrading the Relic Shield into Aegis. 80% chance of blocking fully and 200 dmg shield bash. Too bad that our PLD is a real jerk/idiot/retard that calls me a f*****t all the time. <.<; If we did the Gjallarhorn, I'd be the one to get it, gjallarhorn is +10 wind/string and +2 all songs which gives 3 mp/tick on ballad 1 and 4 mp/tick on ballad 2... I mean, gosh, 7 mp/tick must be broken. razz
Relic Sword is nice too, Knight of the Round isn't as powerful as Vorpal Blade, but the additional effect of dealing dmg equal to 1/4th of your hp is just... awesome.
As a BRD I often get to PT with people with relic gear.
We actually have a guy with both relic sword and relic shield on Phoenix.
Done that and with the relic katana, relic g.tana, relic h2h and relic dagger. =)

Just a little info i know Shiled and Horn is the first thing i would let people get because this is most important to these jobs
Most melee weapons wont always be completed because of the fact a DYnamis shell wants to get the best stuff to help out the shell
Excailber is preety godly as a weapon, will do aditonal effect based on a person HP Galka hitting and a 256 aditonal effect is preety insane
Monks Saphari are preety awsume, will ocasional do triple damage of next attack
horn i would probaly say is > then all Relic and brds should get there upgrades first for the good of the shell

Eh. If anything, depends on how your shell runs your Dynamis. Mine knows Shield and Horn are the best yet we just let whoever wants to upgrade their relics sponsor Dynamis and etc. So far all/majority of the Dynamis we've done that aren't the CoP ones have been sponsored by this one guy in our LS that's been aiming for the bow and is getting there. Just lacking some currency and the attestation from glacier before we worry about hunting down in Xarcabard for his fragment yet I know he has that gem needed in the final upgrade.
But yeah...Just depends on how your shell runs your Dynamis in terms of getting relics upgraded and etc.
