I need some help on this. I'm still working on it (unfinished gun and ammo xd ) because I needed more references and Aside from critiqueing the proportions, etc. Do You think I should shade this in? I'm thinking about the folds at her throat...they might come out messy xp And Do you think I exaggerated her hair too much?

For such thick hair it seems to be hanging very flat, which is a shame.
I like the start on the shading, exaggerated hair looks cool, I wouldn't worry about that.
I agree those folds look scary. Why not print out a copy and have a practice go just in case?

I agree that practicing first would be beneficial.
I agree also that her hair seems to be hanging a little flat. It would be really cool to somehow give it more volume.
The gun looks pretty good, are you going from a reference too for shading it?

The hair is giving me hell right about now but I'll see what I can do sweatdrop The gun....ahhhhhh I really am not looking forward to shading that because I've had zero practice with metal but I'm gonna use a reference for it. Another bit of advice --
Keep in mind that hair, no matter how flat, has some volume. The bandana she's got on her head is sticking very close to it; it looks as though she's got no hair under there. Maybe try making the bandana go a little farther away from the head, if you know what I mean.

It depends what you're going for of course- it could be a very shiny gun or a dirty less shiny one. I think the thing to remember with metal is bright highlights and that it reflects what's around it.

I think you need to google some curly hair.
The hair there looks like metal shavings or something.

You might try loosening up a bit, everything is sort of over-worked and starts to look static..most noticeably on the hair and folds of the clothing.
Hair and fabric tend to have more irregular shapes, so the curles and folds and ruffles shouldn't be so uniform, especially on a pirate. I suppose i've seen rignlets like that on a person, but she probably had to spend several hours in a salon getting it permed and gelled.
anyway, like i said, you maybe a bit too detail oriented, payin more attention to the ruffles of her cravat than the fact her head seems to large for her body, given the proportions of her chest
your pencil work seems really nice and controlled, you could afford to focus on other parts of the drawing.

I did check up some curly hair (found the most perfect thing in a magazine) but I decided to lose it because....the horrible truth is...I ain't got all that patience. I changed the gun because I don't think she'd have been comfortable holding it in the previous position I had it in (the scanner cut off part) and is that thing that sticks out after the trigger important? and I changed the folds at her neck cuz they were practically impossible to shade. and I hope she looks more untidy XD
