Kurai's Spiffy lil Work Journal
but but why?: I decided to make this lil work Journal so the members of Ria high and fellow GGN members can read about how Kurai goes about managing his spiffy lil Roleplaying Guild Ria high. In a sense i wanted to do something Lanzer was doing. I think its a great idea sweatdrop and i hope i can keep up with at least one update per week. Can't promise anything :XP:
Introduction:
Hello world! My name is KuraiGekkou. Or the people who walk around me call me Alan. I am 18 years old currently, going to a community college and currently off the market, sorry ladies Xp (and guys if you were interested >_>;; ). I run a guild called Ria high School which started from an inspiration with the help of a simple high school RP and an RPing group called Ria way back 3 years ago. Now Ria high School has grown with the help of an almost 2 years of loyal members and full of ideas members of Ria high. I tried my best to keep up with Ria high for these 2 years now, and i think its going great 3nodding . I met so many new friends and so many RPiers much better then me. Its almost embarrasing that i am the Captain and they are not sweatdrop . I understand posting my work ideas and work here risks the chance of having it stolen by other guilds. In a sense I am expecting and ready for that. I believe that ideas are meant to share (Mind you not bluntly ripping and stealing Ideas) and that is what makes us GGN guild captains build up better services for everyone. My own personal belief, may not be too true sweatdrop . Anways enough of my rant, I hope you enjoy my Journal and that in some way it can build our GGN and Ria high Community into a much more better community here on Gaia. Even though the community in both places are just wonderful already 3nodding .

Art Woes and enter Nevada-tan
Yesterday and more or less the day before yesterday has been quite a lazy day for Ria high. Many of the people participating in the Star Test event (our 5th one too :3) went on vacation. Silly Summer. Guess it couldn't be helped, with a few chats with some of the test takers, they managed to convince me to give an extension of the deadline. I already gave out the Stars to those who finished their test on time. Once again everyone has passed again XP. Maybe the Star system requires a few more tweeks. meh. It'll be harder for those who will get more stars later on anyways. I haven't been giving out much stars recently actually. Shame on Kurai.
My account banning was much better then i expected when it passed by the members of Ria high. I think it was only cause they just don't care at all XP, as long as i stay in the guild. However i lost a few respect from my crew members for some of the foolish actions I done. Especially Ai` who specifically told me to not go and do such a foolish thing. The entire day she decided to ignore my posts in the General board and other boards. 'dissepearing' each time i come on. Finally after she watched some Anime and i caught her on Msn. I apologized for my stupid mistake flat and out and simple, and she smiled and forgave me.
I should be much more carful with my actions from now on. I didn't realize it could affect my crew memebers so much. In the end they all managed to just come back together and just give me a big slap on the back and be like. Silly Kurai~
possibly the other biggest damage i got with my account ban is that they were all after i ordered some art. Now i have a rather large debt to pay off the artists :Sweat: i had to use pratically everything in Mint's account just to get all the gold i needed to pay off some of it. Most of the art is Ria high releated and is rather needed for some 'spiffin' up on the site. Fourtantly i have a great friend named Misao who lended me some of her gold so i can pay off the art now, and pay her back later. w00t.
Moving on, Ai` came to me today with a wonderful idea for our use on the Rian credit system. She certainly is a great Vice captain to be with. She suggested that we should have clubs in Ria high. This struck me as a great use for the credit system for clubs in a way needed funds. With this idea, i may just have to create a new subforum. But i fear it would make my guild look cluttered. Guilds need Sub-sub-so-forth-subforums. It would be so much easier to just stick it in the off-campus thread. in a sense the students of Ria high can use the Rian credit system to create threads for their own clubs in this subforum.
I shall think about it more before using 2.5k and space in the guild to create a new subforum.
One of the more interesting things that happened today was a user by the name PORGY joined our guild. lawd who knows what the P stands for. She is certainly an interesting young lil 13 year old RP-ier. A 4chan fan and a quite, lets say, perverted young lady. A loli that likes loli. my my. I was most happy to have finally somone who visits strange image board sites in my guild. Especially a well behaved one too. Unlike some other... strange.. 4chan visitors who shove gruesome images onto the board. She was cosplaying as Nevada-tan with her avi and she is certainly one nevada-tan fanatic. Therefore i simply addressed her as Nevada-tan from now on.
Oh.
And she's a great RPier razz . Can't forget that.
Slowly and Slowly the Guild is growing up bigger and bigger. I certainly hope to reach to the point where our/Ria high Can outrank TZRPG. I am totally against unorignal RP guilds =.=;; no offense to the ones they have it, there are a few good ones out there. The poll that is updated every now and then in the general thread certainly shows an increase in members. Im not sure if its cause my polls are getting more interesting, or if members are just growing more 3nodding
Reading Lanzer's most recent work journal entry made me very sad crying . I still have yet to see him excited about updating the GGN systems and all. I guess the Gaia team is still pretty pre-occupied about the new site layout still. And of course.
who can forget.
The battle system :3. Go monks. XD.

Regrets and the bright future
Orignally Ria high was not meant to grow into such a big role-playing guild. When it was first made, it was meant to be a small Ria community of the previous 3 years on which it was runned on. Simply Saying. it was meant for Kyalan, Me, Aili, Chii, Mattus-san the baka, and some of the other old Ria faces. I appreciated seeing the new faces that came into Ria high during that time. No set rules were really set down during that time, but due to the first 20 people wave, I decided to add in some basic rules such as One-liners and such. It was very simple rules and the community seemed to like it.
Something must be with the having High school in the title that attracted people..
Cause before i knew it. Many others were reffered and before i knew it. Ria high ended up different... a new face...
I Disliked it in a sense. But at the same time, I Loved It.
Ria used to be a very close packed community, now suddenly its a beacon of a piece of paradise for many other Rpiers.
What was it? what was it that Ria high had that attracted the other people?
I am praying and hoping it was because of the community. Otherwise i would be very saddened.
I stress on the community... i really hate the seriousness of some RPs and just wish for everyone to have a fun time.
But now i find it increasingly hard to mantain such a vision with so little available crew members and the increasing amount of new people.
I am very happy to have the members help out each other though. that was a beatiful thing : smile :.
But still.
Regret. is starting to build up inside me.
I love Ria high no doubt. There a lot of little things in the guild that make me smile and simply find the guild itself irresistable. But such joy comes with a heavy price of time and maintance of the guild.
I want to go back
But i have a responsibility now. I am after all the Captain of such a large community now.. and a handful of Rpiers depend on me for keeping it a good RPing area.
But sometimes i worry im not good enough
I always ask myself. Am I good enough Captain?
I doubt it... Thus brings up a big purpose of a upcoming event i wish to bring to my guild. It is in a sense. A Captain feedback event. And to make it fair, i added the crew members in it too. Hopefully i will be able to get myself in a good light.. and that i am doing the job i am supposed to be doing, and to the best of my abilities.
In the end i hope to build Gaia up to a better community so many others can get the Joy i recieved during the early days of making my guild.

But its hard. XD. And Kurai for one is very lazy.
The Rian Club idea turned out to be very spiffy, at the cost of another subforum. I still pray for the day when the GGN comes out with a sub-sub-so forth-subforum feature. As long with customizable crew tools (Specific powers for different crew members) to come out, so i can add more crew members. Trust after all. Is an important factor to a Crew member.
This will be hard.

Coffee run.
There's something frightning when the most activity that comes out of the guild starts when you announce that there is a need of more crew member and guild helpers (a new rank I added into my own guild as a crew member without having crew powers). I find it kind of ... akward... I have to offer something this much to get out the most out of my members. Then again, if i was offered something like this for like say, Gaia Moderation, i would certainly start kissing up and put on my best display of "good Gaian citizen". Still... akward~~~~~
Possibly the more akward part of this lil Guild helper sign up sheet was when i started getting people i have NEVER seen post in the guild. UHHH... How the hell am i suppose to trust people like that? not happening :/ . I already know a few of the people i plan on picking, but other then that, getting 3 pages of requests within one weekend certainly is screaming. DANGER DANGER. something might be up... Its like.. we have spies from another guild just awaiting a chance to rip the guild apart XDD.
Pi, Mother Misao and I disscussed this situation online and was very very wary of who we should give Crew powers to and such. This was easily answered. Just don't give them crew powers when they become a guild helper. I thought this idea was grand. Just give them warning rights and authority over inside the General thread/subforums/whatever they are issued to. Until Gaia has the option of choosing which powers whould be assigned to which Crew. I guess for now im stuck with just not giving them powers at all.
The power to delete, edit, posts and all. Way too much.
Overall i'm kinda scared. The dissaproval of Crew tools is a grand idea that will reassure me a little more saftey for Ria high and such.
I talked with one of the Main crew member in The Elemental Warriors guild. A very nicely made and orignal guild which is sharing the Front page listings of guild up there. I don't want them to be bumped off the first page I love the orignality of the guild and just orignal guilds over unorignal guilds in general, they deserve better.
One of the more interesting things i saw in the Elemental Warrior guild team. This spiffy little Crew member works harder then the Captain.
Wow
I always wanted to see a guild where the Crew works harder then the Captain XDDD.
Just imagine Ai` Working harder then me or something. Even Joy! Man. that would be much more relaxing for me XDD.
Back to the new Guild helper topics. I guess i will be giving the Crew members a decision on which member to adopt into their team and such. Meaning. Joy i know already adopted a certain crew member (or more or less i assigned her one) and such. I guess ill get to that situation after i interview with every applicant first.

I will not give up my high school work to anyone.
I think its high time i close it and bring it to myself.
