Don't know if this is really a superstition or not...

My school's auditorium has these rotating panels that you can slide into the backstage area so no matter where you sit you can see what's going on (from all sides), but the unfortunate part is that there's this 18 inch "black hole" between the walls and the stage that people are always falling into, landing them bruised kneecaps and various other scrapes and the like. Whenever that happens, we always joke that the "Phantom" got them.

Our drama directors freak about the peacock feather thing, too.

It's bad luck to say "break a leg" to a dancer. You have to say "s**t" in french to them instead.
Ah yes, 'Merde.'

You wrap your pinkie with someone else's and then bite your thumb.

Also we don't say 'Bloody Mary' anymore because we kept 'seeing' her backstage.

Never say 'Good Luck'; 'Break a leg' is more widely accepted

We have proved the Macbeth superstition at my theatre.... some idiot techie said that on stage and within an hour one of the room off the stage was infested with cockroaches. Ewwww xx

Theatre ghosts are famous as well.

Yes, we have established this one as well. My friend uttered the cursed name of the Scottish Play three times backstage under her breath (we didn't find out until she told us after the show was through). Needless to say, three major tragedies befell our production: a drop roller fell during a build session, coming close to majorly injuring some techies (including moi), our best dancer tore her hamstring on opening night in the big dance number, and the rope of a cottage roof set mysteriously snapped. 3nodding
