Justin woke up one day and went into the kitchen. He opened up his little fridge and saw nothing that he wanted. So, he went and sat on the couch and decided to watch a little TV. He turned it on and there was a delicious looking fish on the cooking channel. He suddenly had a great craving for a fish. He thought and then decided to go fishing down by the river. He took a shower, put on some clothes and boots, grabbed his fishing pole and set out for the river.
A few minuets later he arrived at the river. He sat down and started casting. He sat for a while before anything actually happend. But then it did! He reeled in his line and saw that it wasn't a fish, wasn't anything like a fish. It was a boot. He threw it back and cast it again. He then sat and waited for something to happen.
((How's that?))

Branwan was going for a walk, perhaps, she thought, I will go down to the river, I wonder if I can swim like this? She shrugged and kept walking, at least she could dip her feet in. By like this she meant ‘at this stage in her transformation. Her feet and toes had gone all hard, her big toe had grown longer, her middle and pointer finger had partly fused, her nails had grown in to what seemed like claws, and she had a very short tail. Not only that but with out losing any fat or muscle, she had lost more then ten pounds!
When she got to the river she saw a young man fishing, or, rather, trying to fish and getting boots. She walked up behind him and said, “I wonder where the boots come from?”
((okay, but it spans a little to much itme))

He jumped up and turned around. "Wha! What...are...you..." he asked scared like. He was very scared. He saw her claws, tail, and even a few fingers missing. He started to shake a bit and then he backed up...but he backed up a little to much and fell right back into the water. There was a big splash and then he popped up out of the water. Taking in a deep breath in and letting it out, he tried to keep his distance.

Usually Branwan would have laughed at the sight of the tall boy falling at the water but the reason for his plunge saddened her. “I don’t know what I am,” she said sadly. Her words said much more then they sounded at face value, they said, ‘I don’t know what I am turning into.’ They said, ‘I’m not really human any more and that makes me sad.’ They said, ‘and you don’t know what ‘s happening, do you?’

He looked at her and said, "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to be so mean about it. I'm Justin, Justin Harp." He did want to know her...but his shy side was knocking. He didn't want to have to run again like he has before. He tends to be a bit shy around new people...but he hated letting it out. Sooner or later he was going to have to get over his fear and be outgoing. Well, that wasn't going to happen. He knew it already. He began to turn red, but he stood his ground.

The young man’s embarrassment caused conflicting emotions in Branwan, she found it amusing but at the same time her insides twisted out of empathy. “It’s okay,” she said sticking out her hand for him to shake, “I’m Branwan, nice to meet you.” She gave him a small smile. She wasn’t thinking about what she was saying, it was just what you said when you met some one. It wasn’t nice to meet him, because her meeting him meant he was on the island, and that only meant one thing, and it wasn’t nice.
Branwan rethought her theory that he didn’t know; he had not run away so he had probably met one of the other islanders, and that probably meant he knew. That meant she did not have to tell him, well, that was a relief.
((Sorry that took so long, my Internet just up and cut out on me))

He looked at her strangly wondering what he should do. He started to blush as he took her feathery hand. He shook it and swallowed. He took a deep breath and said, "What...I mean, if you don't mind me asking...what...exactly...are you?" He tried to make it sound as nice as possible but it isn't very easy trying to make something nice out of those words. He looked at her from her head all the way down to her toes, which seemed somewhat like her hands. He noticed that she was feathery and that meant she must be around birds but what he didn't notice is that she was turning into one. He thought they were just stray feathers from other birds. But he ignored that and knew that his shy and embarrased side was going to come out. He couldn't help it. He didn't have many friends because of his shy and bashful nature.

“Well, that’s the problem, isn’t it, I don’t know.” Branwan shrugged and smiled, “I’m thinking that I should call Mr. Duvert, but that would mean talking to him.” She gave a short laugh, “What about you?” she left this question very open ended, the boy could take it as ‘tell me about your self.’ or ‘what are you turning in to?’ or, “what do you think?” she looked at him curiously.
((she has no feathers yet… O.o))

“Oh yes, definitely,” said Branwan without thinking.
Idiot! She chided her self silently, that was mean, you don’t want to make him feel that there is no hope at all, and what if he isn’t changing, idiot, idiot, idiot!
“Um, I mean, pos-, per-, not n-, def-, um, maybe not?” She smiled at him worriedly, “You might actually be here for, um, what are you here for?” she gave him another worried smile.
ooc: I'm back from camp!
