Chopi sighed and smiled weakly. "Then you're perfect for the jungle. I couldn't climb if my life depended on it...and I learned that the hard way."
She had a bad experience with tress before adulthood and she didn't want to face that again. The cheetah stood to her full heigt, her legs snapping to attention. Her limbs weren't meant for climbing. They were meant for using speed to capture prey.
"I have never seen a snake that was big enough to eat me but I have nearly been trampled by wildebeasts. Stay away from large herds atleast."

"You can't climb?"
The small leopard cocked a brow, one ear falling back. That was very odd indeed, what kind of cat couldn't climb trees? That must be a very boring life, climbing and running through the trees was one of the most fun things a cat could do.
"There are big snakes here, they wrap around you and squeeze you so they can eat you."
Keone shivered, snakes were terrifying creatures.

Chopi shook her head, her ears flickering.
"I have never been able to climb in my life. Atleast, not very well. I have my good and bad days but I'm not built for it."
The golden cat was much happier just lounging around in the sun or chasing down her next meal. Trees weren't any use for her to climb in. She was much more content with sitting under them. If the leopard didn't understand that then she didn't need to explain it. Her throat went dry as Keone told her of snakes.
"They squeeze the life out of you? That must be a horrible end..." Chopi went through her head and thought of questions that needed answering, trying to change the subject.
"Do you have a name leopard?"

The leopard's eyes widened at the cheetah's words. Squeeze the life out of you? He didn't like the sound of that, not at all, as if snakes weren't terrifying enough.
"I guess you could put it that way... I just stay away from them..."
Keone tilted his head, looking over the cheetah and her lean build. Her legs were thinner than his certainly, maybe that's why she couldn't climb.
"Huh? Oh, I'm Keone, I've lived here all my life."
He grinned proudly, he loved his home. There was a question gnawing at him though.
"If you don't climb trees, what're you doing in the jungle?"

Chopi already didn't like these snakes. Anything that could actually kill something as large as her was something to stay well away from.
"I just try to stay far away from trees. THey get in my way while I'm running anyway." She was much happier in wide open spaces than stuck in a tangle of trees. Her ears twitched as she lowered herself back to her haunches.
"Chopi...just call me Chopi." She didn't really want people to know that mouthful of a name that she had. Her red eyes trailed to her kill. "I was eating...'

Keone's gaze was questioning for a moment, as if not understanding what the cheetah had said. He was about to ask when his eyes followed her movements to settle on the prey that had been resting at her paws, he hadn't noticed it before.
"Ohhhh... you mean you actually eat those? Karama eats stuff like that too, I didn't know cheetahs did too." Not that he'd known cheetahs existed until a few moments ago. "You know if you take that up a tree no one could steal--oh, that's right, you can't climb."
It was a leopard trick to carry prey up trees where they could eat at their leisure without fear of other predators stealing their meals. Of course the biggest thing Keone ever ate was fish...though once he had caught a particullarly fat hare. He had no need to carry his food up trees, but he had seen Karama do it several times.

Chopi nodded but kept her eyes on her kill.
"Yeah. I eat these. I eat them all the time actually." The meat no longer looked very enticing but it would be perfect for Korou to peck at. She nudged at one of it's horns. "I have to eat my prey as quickly as possible or it'll get stolen easily."
She wasn't one to fight for her meals no matter how hungry she was. The cheetah normally left when the larger scavengers got there.

The leopard titled his head and looked as if he would scratch his ear inquisitively were cats prone to do such.
"Doesn't that make your stomach hurt?"
Keone's ears flicked, his tail curling about behind him. His jaws parted in a wide yawn, and his eyes began to wander. He remembered that he was thirsty after the mouse he had eaten, and a nap by the water sounded like a wonderful idea right now. Maybe he'd find Karama there.

"No. I'm built for eating fast. It's my specialty if that's what you want to call it besides running of course."
The cheetah became much more laid back as her hunger diminished. She lowered herslef to her white belly before speaking. "I take it you would carry your prey up trees to get it away from scavengers huh?" SHe looked up at the trees around her. "That would be a good idea if it wasn;t so hard to drag large prey."
Before she got too comfortable, Chopi remembered the cub resting at her rock. She needed to get back to him soon.

Keone shook his head, tail flicking in the leaves and debris of the jungle carpet like a snake, something that fortunately the leopard had never noticed.
"No, I don't eat anything that big, but my friend Karama does."
A smile crossed his maw, a soft purr at the thought of the dark leopardess he had grown so close to. He thought maybe he'd stop and pick her a flower on his way to the water. She would like that.
"Umm...I think she may be waiting for me..."
He hoped anyways, he had grown to miss the dark leopardss more and more everytime they were seperated, and he was growing very fond of the idea of taking a flower to her.

Chopi smiled. "Well then Karama must bge very skilled to take something down in the jungle.
I'd never be coordinated enough to do that." She looked up again at the sky and finally saw the buzzards that she had been dreading. Korou would probably be wanting water soon and she need to keep him out of the sun. "Well. It's been a pleasure talking to you Keone but I have someone to go back to too."She bowed her neck and turned slowly.
"Maybe we'll see eachother again sometime." She nodded and sprinted off towards her rock.

Keone simply nodded, though he didn't think it was all that difficult to hunt in the jungle, but maybe it was for a cheetah.
"I guess so."
The little leopard stood to four paws, tail flicking behind him as he turned toward the direction that would carry him to the water He really hoped Karama was there. He could give her a flower and they could catch some fish then take a nap, he liked that idea.
"Maybe we will. Bye!"
He called his farewell after her as she left before trotting off his own way into the jungle.
