o0NeMo0o I don't know how Callous it is. We all know they are doing their jobs, it's not out of malice, more of procedure and logic. The only that upsets people is that it's Big named users, or fact that you want to evaluate each user on merit all before actually stopping the spread of this. If it wasn't someone you knew, would you really care? It has happen to many people you don't know before you started speaking out about it, some of which ran charities, donated and accepted donations from other users. Some of which were brought back. Ebay provide's some information to the Admins (As for IP Addresses, I'm not too sure, again you can easily spoof IP's). It's been stated time and time again they are trying to work with eBay to get this handled. You can't sell some else's intellectual proterty without their consent. Nobody has their consent as stated in the TOS. As for the other places that sell this stuff, i'm not too sure. Mostly likely they don't give any infromation, that's why it spread so much. So think this is stemming off from another site, one of which is that purpleshpere people keep mentioning. Agreed that they merely do their jobs. Though not quite true Nemo, I spoke out more than once and for some that I barely know. As one who works with databases, I know how one could screw up royally especially if one does not even consider that the error might be in their side. Yes, e-bay can provide some information but not too much. Giving out IP addresses is not something they would do as they do not want to open up that can of worms either. There is no argument here. I agree they are doing their jobs, but I have seen other banned individuals as well as those who have shown me the response of the mods they contacted to ask. It is unprofessional and insulting. There are quite a few things that also could happen when such a thing does go: 1 - They do get a headache for dealing with this 2 - They simply do not care. 3 - Anywhere in between. I am curious however on how they take their data and figure out the information. Banning an innocent is never a good thing.

So have I, but you didn't care about the people you didn't know at all. But maybe that's just where you I differ. I get people PMing me for help on pretty much all matters, I do my best to help. Anyways, about the whole eBay thing. Yeah, they are limited as to what they have to work with. I too am curious how they take their data and figure out the information, but i'm sure's not really a secret method, i'm sure you can figure it out. It's not simply banning the innocent. I mean think of this way. If you recieve stolen goods and you don't know. They still have to figure out if you didn't know or not. It's not like, "Did you know?" "no" "Ok go ahead". They can't go on that alone, and what it's tough to figure out if the knew or not and what the intentions were if any at all. You can't go by this person did all this good stuff blah blah. It doesn't matter. Now, On some occasions they don't even question the person cause some how they figure it out. Then they take out the Gold and/or items and tell them. I've seen that happen a few times and also have been told about from Aquafire. Even then, the users complain and so some reason or another decide to PM me and complain to me and ask for help. A couple of those cases were friends and ultimately left Gaia. Now i'm curious how they figure that out. Quote: There is no argument here. I've seen it both ways how the people constantly PM and comlpain, it happens, even on other sites and from job to job everywhere, you can't escape that. I don't think it's not caring. You have to care enough to be noticed as such. I think they just get tired at some point. Which is why some Moderators switch status at times. Just to switch it up. I only a couple of them that did that. It maybe more to it than that. meh. I don't know, useless really talking about it. Since there is really nothing we can do. A suggestion maybe, though.. I don't .... just tired of talking about it.

Nemo - Understood and agreed. However please do not accuse anyone of not caring about people they do not know. I know you are not trying to be insulting, nor do you know what I do out of the lime-light, and don't ever think that you are the only one who contacts those who have been banned to help them out. I mean I get information such as this from those banned: Some Mod You've already contacted several mods about it and you have already been informed of the reason and the fact that the accounts will not be unbanned several times. Please stop PMing us about the same issue (and lying about not knowing what was the cause of the ban), this can be consider Inbox Spam. The difference is not that people do not care, it is that some just do not like being seen. One thing I did account for(but refused to do) before is that there is gravitas brought by an older character, rather than one who is pulling strings from behind. Which is different from me working behind mules and letting others take the spotlight. Showing my hand now, is more of a forced decision on me rather than something I wanted to do. I like taking the role of a hidden advisor than anything else. Which is what I used to do and still do up to today. In any case, as I mentioned I have no argument and pretty much agree. I also did say that I have made my peace with it for now. Still, if I do get to see Lanzer on Otakon, I will most definitely ask him on their protocol on banning. Other than that, I should stop, else my revolutionary streak would get the better of me. What is funny though, I barely know Plexi and haven't really talked to her yet, I get accused of not caring for people I do not know. Amazing, damned if I do, damned if I don't. The hell am I working for any way? Just because people do not know what have been done by people like me, who donate, support and advise from PMs, messenger systems beyond gaia to help out, it does not give any one who lets their works be known the right to denigrate those that prefer to keep what they do unknown. As such, it does not give you the right to say that to me. We are speaking outside ourselves, and need not bring ourselves in to the discussion. Yeah, that response from that mod isn't out of not caring. More frustration after many of them already explaining. Basically they were banned cause they were involved, not actually for lying that they didn't know. (Obviously not bad enough for the mod the be reported and their status taken away). I like taking the role out in the open, so if I mess up, they know where the information was from, I have no need to hide (which isn't a bad thing), I can take the good and bad critisism. (XD Which reminds me of all the bad times, drama and such. It was funny..) Yeah, I barely know her too, i've yet to have a conversation with her. I respect her art and what she does. In the end, I think we are a like in most ways, you seem to agree with a lot of it, and I agree with some of the things you say too. I'm kinda leaving gaia, just another little break. Anyways, I hope you see Lanzer and get some good information. 3nodding
