Amani stood on a rise and looked over the lands they had come to. A soft, satisfied smile spread on her maw as slowly as the rising sun. And it was just as radient.
She was just so happy to finally have come to a stopping point, a place where she and Harabu could finally settle down together without having to worry about their pasts catching up with them. She glanced over her shoulder to Harabu and her smile brightened considerably.
Oh, how she loved him. And she greatly enjoyed showing him, as well. She padded towards him and affectionatly ran her cheek against his.

The mountains were different and out the way, it was perfect. He had wanted to get away from anyone he had known or met or even seen before and here seemed to be perfect.
They had came across the path to the mountains accedently, but he wasn't bothered now. The lands were great and though there was quite obviously other lions around he was happy to have found somewhere to settle at last.
He smiled as Amani rubbed against him. "We can look around Amani but there are lions around and we may have walked into pride territory, if they ask us to leave we must, even if this place is right for us." He smiled at her again, hoping they wouldn't have to leave once again.

"I know, but I am hopeful," Amani replied and matched his smile. "You know, your face seems to brighten when you smile. It makes me happy to see it," she added, a little ofhandedly, but truthful nonetheless. She turned and walked back up the small hill to look around again. She pricked her ears foreward and scanned the area as best she could.
"I believe it when you say that there are other lions around, though I see none at this moment," she said, glancing back at Harabu. "Have you heard any stories about this place before? I must admit, although I wandered a fair bit as a cub, I didn't take to listening to traveler's tales. In fact, I was too scare to get near most others."

Harabu shook his head, "I stayed with prides my whole life, Asi's and then Nyeks. I heard no stories but those in the prides." He smiled again and continued to walk onwards. This place was strange to him, different. He raised his head to the sky and sniffed about a bit but the smell was still faint but recent.
"We must find one of the lions." He never did speak much, he never had done. He was however trying to find something, some way of finding a way to stay here, out of the way from everything that had been past to start a new.

Amani nodded and followed him. She was used to his short sentences by now and didn't mind as much as she might have. He was a lion of few words. "Do you think they'll accept us?" she asked a little worried. She wanted to stay here, however the last thing she wanted was a confrontation. If they had to leave, so be it. She didn't want Harabu to get hurt.

He didn't say anything for a while, just kept walking. He did stop though and turn, "I don't know Amani, least we can do is hope." He forced a smile and continued onwards. His mind set on finding a lion around here.
