According to the prophecies of this Saint, we do not have much time left on the earth.
For those who dont know, St Malachy prophecied the next 268 Popes from the date of 1143. This list has just reached the 267th Pope, Benedict XVI, the next Pope is said to bring the end as the Anti-Christ.
Just looking for your opinions on this. Please contribute to this and make it a worthy discussion.

Well I honestly don't think there is much time left either. I truely think Christ will come some time in the course of my life. But Then again i don't think its some that should be "worried about" so to speak. He told us to watch for his coming and that the end was going to be soon- although that was hundreds of years ago i think its a good idea to keep a look out.
I don't really like Benedict the XVI. I can't really place why- It just doesn't sit right with me. I really admired John paul II though. He was a great pope. I know my mom kind of believes that Benedict could be paving the way for the Anti- Christ and i guess i kind of do too. Either way the end will come and leaders are in place for a reason.

These are just some things I have picked up around the ED or school, etc:
His prophecy also stated that the last pope's name would be the same as the first. (I forget the name at the moment) There are supposed to be ten countries in the United Nations, and a tenth has finally joined. (I think I got that right. @.@) Jerusalem is supposed to be the most powerful country when the world 'ends,' and I heard that it has recently become more powerful. The Mayans predicted that the world would end on December -21st or 23rd-, (I forget which) 2000. Their calender was off, so you would add about twelve years... -2012-
But finally, in the Bible, it states that no one will know when the world will end. Not Jesus, not the angels, but God and God only. (Though I forget where I read that part)

I don't think there's much time, but I doubt it'll be in the next 10-20 years. Then again, only God knows. However, I think that God's time for prophets has passed. You can interpret a symbol or where they were from or their name to mean anytrhing you like. I personally don't put much weight in those prophesies. Besides, the scriptures clearly say that NOBODY knows when the end will come. If you've ever thought about it, not even Jesus knows when the end will be. Only God does.Even though they're one, they're distinctly different, and Scripture says that only God knows. If Jesus doesn't even know, I doubt God would have allowed a man to know.

Also,. we do not know how long this pope wil live, could be 1 year, could be 50(unlikely, but i suppose its possible, as anything is possible by God)

i heard about that. my friend's dad studied a lot on the end times. i agree totally that we don't have much time. i think we are in the midst of the end times. however, i think it is going to be a while before we get raptured up, my guess is probably 40-50 years. which really isn't a very long time. but, it's not like 2 years, which i think is too close. but, the end times are now. which is why i feel it is imparative for the christians of the world to stand up and realize that this is war. there is a great war going on in the spiritual realm and i think that we need to recognize that. we need to start winning over people into the kingdom of God. we need to avangelize, and be God's ambassadors to the people. just my opinion.

It's as clear as it needs to be. The rapture will come, then the Anti-Christ will rise. Next comes the tribulation, and during that the judgement of all the believers at the judgement seat of Christ (rewarding good deeds).Towards the end of the tribulation will be the marriage supper of the lamb, when we're given our jobs, which will be unique to each of us, and at the end of the tribulation (seven years of hell on earth) will be the battle of armageddon. Satan is cast into the bottomless pit where he'll be restrained for 1000 years while Christ reigns on Earth. After that, Satan will be released for one last revolt, but God'll eventually say "Enough's enough" and cast Satan into the lake of fire for all of eternity, upon which the earth will be destroyed by fire, and God will create the new Jerusalem, where we'll live for eternity. Quite clear.

I must say that I agree the end times are near. I have heard the theory that Benidict will be the last good pope. I must say that I think that this is true. I am not saying this just to say something. Everyday I see sighns of the end. Wars rage. Natural disasters are more and more common. I am glad to know that Jesus is coming soon but I weep for those who do not believe. My grandparents among them.
