Two weekends back - why haven't I posted until now? - my father took my friend, sister, and myself to Cardiff. =D
All being Doctor Who nuts, we of course went along to the exhibition and so on and so forth.
The annoying thing was we missed the crew by a whisker! Apparently they'd been filming the week before. I can't believe I missed an oppertunity to jump David Tennant 3
However, we got a spiffy hotel that gave us an inflatable Dalek that has been doing the rounds of my house - the hall, my room, my Mum's bed... xD - and I'll shower you all in photos just as soon as I get round to uploading them.
Oh, but the funniest thing is - and I have PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE, hoyes! - they had the coat the tenth Doctor wears. At the bottom, most amusingly, there is a line where it looks like they've sewn on an extra foot or so of material to make it taller.
I can't remember, is DT short?
We just found that too funny.
WELL.
Who else had been to Cardiff?

Tennant's supposedly 6'1", so he's taller than such shorties as Tom Cruise (rumored to be 5'7") or Sylvester Stallone (5'9").
What's the name of this hotel? I'm assuming not all the hotels in Cardiff have inflatable Daleks and other such Who-related paraphernalia.
I think it'd be fun to wander around Cardiff looking for the locations where they shot Boomtown and other episodes...

The Fountain in Boomtown is gonna have Jack's branch of Torchwood under it. 3nodding Just for those who dont know.
Thing is, they made everything look like London, not a hint of Cardiff, I doubt if they hadnt told us, many of us wouldnt have known it wasnt London.

@Hairy Priest - It was Park Plaza or something like that. Veeery snazzy; my father was calling in a favour from the owner. Apparently it's one of the ones the crew and cast stay at when they're filming. whee
We saw the... political building - wow at my mind! xD; - where part of Boomtown was filmed. : D
And went to the docky bit - wow again - with the... Oh, the words will come to me.
@Torchwood - D'you mean the big wet silver one? That was great fun. : D

So lucky! I wanna go the Cardiff. I love the fact that in Torchwood, when they say something is in Cardiff, it really is in Cardiff. ^^ No pretending.

I'd love to go to Cardiff, if only to go location hunting. Sadly, I can totaly see myself hading my camera to someone and going "Oh! Take a picture of me standing on the Rift!"
Of course, I live all the way over in Canada, so I won't be going any time soon... College is coming up, so no overseas trip for me in the near future. ^^;

I've never been there and I can't say that it looks likely I ever will. I don't get out much, let alone travel.
