one of my Bisexual friends wanted to start a GSA, and went into the office to ask about it.... they gave him this look like "Wtf!?!?!" and in a very rude voice said "i don't think the Parents would approve of that."
Seriously..... stare

I'm pretty sure that as long as its a public school and as long as other non-academic clubs are allowed, they're legally required to allow them to start a GSA. Tell your friend to do some research on the policies about it.

Its not a matter if the parents would approve or not. Its all about having the right kind of information, knowing a teacher that would be willing to support it, and knowing your principle or the head of student affairs.
There are other threads in another section of the guild. I belive in the Life form.

With links to info about starting a GSA and about how to start one if your school doesn't want to.

Confront 'em with some policies, find a few teachers to back you and be mediators (the more the better!), take it before the PTA if you have to, and in general get support from wherever you can! There are actually websites out there that are literal how-to guides for starting your GSA! If you get enough people in on it it'll be harder for them to refuse without causing a rucuss!

Tell your friend to do some research on the policies about it. Exactly what I was going to say. Glad someone else did. I couldn't remember what, exactly, I was thinking about.
