http://www.alexhan.com/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pK5xR90PfuoAnybody heard of him? This kid is so freakin good! He's been studying saxophone since he was 8. He's alraedy played with alot of great jazz giants and tourerd at most of the major jazz festivals in the world. I heard about him but never really checked him out. I think he's 18 now and got a full ride into Berkley eek He's already making alot of waves in teh jazz community and he only has room to get better.

Yeah, he's had the original 875b since he was, like 10. I remember seeing pictures of a very little boy holding this alto that was almost as big as he was.

Cannonball by far was the coolest band director ever.
I remember overhearing my band director joking around with some freshmen about who the best band director ever is (implying that it might be him).
I shouted from across the room, "Cannonball Adderley!"

Man, I've heard Alex Han... He inspired me to practice seven, eight, outwards to thirteen hours a day. My dream is to come within shot of his greatness by my senior year...

Wow. He's really good. eek I don't really like the style, though... it has that, um. I don't know. Whiny quality? I've heard it before, but I can't remember where. Oh well, can't deny the fact that he's got talent! biggrin
Even if his tone is whiny, I'm still jealous. ninja

I watched the video, and his first notes led me to believe he was going to be a smooth player. Surprised me a bit. Kid likes to do a lot of side-step chromatic slides in some interesting places. Not fond of the style, but he's got some great ideas in there. Actually, he did a whole tone lick I REALLY liked a lot ^^.
