Personality: Minka is generally distant from other people unless they are close friends of hers. Not many have seen her genuinely smile, because she prefers to keep a straight face to the world. She has a very pessimistic outlook on life, since so far life hasn't treated her very well. A complete skeptic, she has a simple defense mechanism when it comes to the shock of being in the Brink the first few times-- 'this isn't really happening.' When things start getting a little too weird for Minka's tastes, she goes into denial and tries to convince herself it's all a dream. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In her own world, she tends to have delusions of grandeur, and has been known to call herself 'Minka the Great' every once in a while. Those who know her are used to it by now and usually don't say anything about it.

Background: Minka was born on a small farm outside of St. Petersburg, Russia on November 29, 1875. She has an older brother and an older sister, Mikhail and Natalya. Growing up, Minka hated the farm and aspired to be great in the world, or at least known for something. She figured that was never going to happen if she kept up the life she had in Russia. At the age of 24, Minka finally saved up enough money to get a ticket on a ship to America and landed in New York City. She quickly realized her foolishness in attempting this endeavor, not having a job or making enough money to pay her rent in the boarding house she first inhabited. Soon Minka found herself on the streets.

Fortunately, she found a job at a shoe factory sewing leather pieces together. She wasn't much better off financially, and the bosses openly oppressed her and her fellow workers, but at least it was a job. Minka gained popularity among her co-workers and soon was able to move in to an apartment with some of her friends and co-workers, dividing the rent into five portions so they could all stay. It is cramped in the apartment with five people living in two rooms, but it has a roof that keeps rain and snow out, and that's really all that counts.

At work, the situation is less than stellar. Minka and her friends are at the very lowest rung of the ladder, and are constantly put down and taken advantage of by their superiors. Minka, after one particular altercation that almost killed a friend, has decided that she can't take much more of this and is attempting to plan a revolt of the factory workers. So far, it isn't going very well. However, Minka hopes she'll be able to pull it together and take over the factory, making it a better place for all involved.

Other: Minka usually speaks in the third person, although sometimes with extreme emotion she may let slip an 'I', or simply forget to refer to herself with her name. No one is really sure why she does this-- she just does.

Abilities: None supernaturally, but can sew and mend things very well, and has a knack for fighting with blunt objects (a baseball bat being her favorite).
