Her heart beat faster, mood brightening as every footstep hit the ground. They were closer and closer to the river. The whitewater that rushed its way, ripping the eart and forging a path to its freedom. The freedom that she and these other wolves would soon lavish in. This peace in the land surrounded by water.
She let out a loud yip, and a happy growl, a side that she rarely portrayed to anyone. "Remember this well Jori," she said as the river's roar got louder and louder. "This is where the escape from here is." She dove under a bush and wove her way around trees, darting this way and that, making the ground a blur. It was evident now she was a runner by blood, it was what she spent her time doing. This was her life.
Breaking through of the foliage she hadn't even slowed as her body tumoulted downwards.
Sploosh. Splash. Sploosh. Splash. Splash.
She fought her way against the current, it was rather light, but she was in high spirits and made a game of it. Jumping in the water sometimes just for the pure glee of getting wet. "Don't be afraid," she called back, uncaring really of whether the other wolf heard her or not. Her spirits were so high she thought it might be possible to fly and she continued her way across the huge path she had forged in the riverbed.
One wouldn't think it was possible for a wolf to laugh. But laugh she did, even if it was the strangest sound a wolf had ever heard.

Jori padded along silently behind the older female, strangely content to follow. The roar of the river grew louder and stronger as they approached the bank, and Jori imagined she could see foaming rapids between the thick tree boles that lined the waterway. She wasn't sure where Kara was leading her, but knowing what she did of the older wolf, Jori was certain it would be a stronghold at the least.
At Kara's voice the small blue started, looking guiltily towards the female. But only the rustle of a bush gave evidence of the lanky wolf's passing. Jori took off after her, tearing her way through the undergrowth. Tree, tree, forked branch, scratching bush, mud - she flailed and caught her balance - oak, ivy... With a startled yelp she plunged into the chill river waters.
The currents weren't too strong, and she managed to climb up onto the bank only a few paces after the lanky red. Shaking out her fur, she stretched nonchalantly and surveyed the land through half closed eyes.
"A stronghold." She muttered, affirming her earlier thoughts. Grinning, she turned to Kara. "For this, I'll make sure I remember." Any pack trying to enter their lands would have a difficult time indeed.

When were they ever going to stop moving, his paws were stinging with every footfall. It was like some sort of mini-torture every step., but he wouldn’t be the one to break the silence to the other of something as pitiful as feet. They would bleed before he would allow the other that has become his ‘father figure’ to find out they were actually hurting. Pain was the first thing he must learn to ignore if he ever wished to be strong and respected.
Blinking brightly colored eyes the pup make a silent yawn, taking in the scent of rushing waters as he walks onward. Carefully weaving himself around obstacles so not to hurt his feet anymore than they already were. It would do no good to get a sharp rock placed in his tender pads, nor would if be much fun for a stick to get embedded into the tender flesh of his paws.
When would the traveling end and the resting begin?

Kara was quite frankly in the best of moods. It was very evident in her stride. For the very first time in her life her tail was up and her head was high. There was no one around to stop her and so she simply did what she felt like. It was here, with Jori, that she truly felt free. In a pack all to her own. Joy spread through her very soul and she broke yet again into a run.
"Isn't it beautiful?" she asked, tripping on a rock and going head over heels.
Another strange giggle escaped her throat. She was not at all detered by the fall, but merely laid there, panting, eyes scanning all about her. She couldn't believe she had found this place. A place of beauty and of wonder. How long had it been since pack life blessed her old and beaten coat. Too long. Memories of dear Rechelle flooded back into her mind, but she let them come, enjoying them while she could.
Kiros was hardly faring better than the pup. His paws ached and his head and tail drooped low from weariness. Xan pushed them far to hard. Xan . . . his mind faded.
Water. . . all around. Crushing.
No not this dream again. Please no. Not now. I can't give in now.
What are you doing? Get the hell up! You've fallen in a river you ******** idiot!
His senses snapped back and he shook his head. River? He wasn't dreaming?
As if in response he suddenly could feel the liquid in his longs, he coughed and sputtered, lost his footing and fell into the river. Curses.
Get up damn you. MOVE!
Kiros nodded, he ached all over, but he persued forwards, stumbling towards shore, barely able to get himself there.

As the older wolf went sprawling, Jori looked on with an expression of bemused wonder. No one played in the Deep Forest pack. Her father regarded play as a useless, energy-wasting activity, and taught his pups to avoid it. With his teeth and claws.
But something strange was bubbling up inside of her, an exhileration... she panted and pricked her ears, watching her leader. The tip of her tail, held straight out from her body, wagged a bit, startling her. But she couldn't keep the grin off her face, and finally gave up trying.
A scrabbling noise behind her! She spun, teeth bared and ears flat, to find a blue and grey wolf climbing onto the soft bank. Her tail lowered slightly and she backed up a pace towards Kara. If he ment to attack... I won't let him get the first friend I've made. The addmission to friendship worried her, but she put it aside for future consideration.
A low growl escaped her muzzle. "What do you want here, male?" She demanded, legs braced for an attack. Although he appeared exhausted... I won't take that chance.

When was the water so close? When had the male fallen into the waters? Staring at him he wondered but wouldn’t get too close. The river was far to fast for him. He was far too small for survival in the river. Though his eyes never left the male, Beere growled softly as well. Two others he registered. Only two, no more. None being mother, none being known to him-- ….There was one that smelled rather familiar… The female he mistaken for his mothers on the first night.
“I seem to have been brought into your path again tall one.” called the small child, who was still staring at the other male. His paws hurt yet he wouldn’t sit, not unless told to. He wouldn’t take liberty to do anything that his ’master’ couldn’t do himself.
“Why are we all here no, why were we woven into one story again? “ Berry eyes came to stare at the two, they ere slightly glazed over like he was drugged or far too tired for his own good, more than likely the latter but none knew anything when it came to pups. They seemed to find the most random of things lurking through the grass, and ate the most strangest of things.

Kara's ears pricked up, confusion washed over her face. From where she was she couldn't see the male's face. But what was worse was the females quickness to defend her. It left Kara speechless. She would have done the same thing for Ran if she had been Jori and Jori had been Ran in her spot. This was insane. She had stumbled across a loyal wolf without knowing it. This was just all the better for her. Life was just brilliant.
Now to the intruder.
Letting out a huff she scrambled to her feet, her eyes swept the area.
MURDERER! her mind screached, and her hackles raised, but then she quickly calmed herself. She noted his absolutely horendous state and decided that alarming Jori would only make things worse. She knew Kiros. If only slightly. That wolf didn't fake anything. But what the hell had gotten him into that state?
And he's always injured when I want to kill him the b*****d. Why can't he be in good shape so I can rip him to pieces?
Her eyes caught the pup. This just got WORSE! She definately couldn't do anything harsh in the small one's presence. "It would seem," she half growled.
It started talkin in riddles. It made her brain spin again. She didn't have time for this. "I don't know," she snapped. "But you brought him," she growled, nodding her heads towards the worthless male.
Oh ******** style="color: orange">Huh?
The crazy b***h.
Kara?
Yes.
HERE!?
YES DAMN IT! HERE!
Nonononononono.
Kiros dared the look up, water dripping from his face. What he saw first was not Kara, but a blue female.
Why do all the hot ones hate us?
Maybe because you rip their limbs from their bodies! Came the squeaky reply from Kiros. His mind was spinning. What was she doing here? Would she kill him? She wouldn't. Would she? She wasn't like Xan right? No. She couldn't be. Never. Cold hearts were few. Everyone was like Rechelle.
Then again. Kiros lived in a strange world. A sheltered world. Life was not like he thought it was.
He stood up and stumbled again, managing to megerly pick the young pup up and then fall back into the river again, tripping his way towards the red female.

Jori kept the silent snarl on her face, but her ears flickered with confusion as the male gathered himself and retreived the pup. The pup... The blue felt a wave of annoyance. So little and helpless. Can't even feed themselves. Worthless. She ignored the knowledge that she had been one once.
Kara had finally regained her footing and stood gazing at the intruder warily. Although her body was calm, almost relaxed, the look in the red's eyes spoke otherwise. Jori backed down slightly, but remained alert. If Kara was this... upset, there might be something here afterall.
Not with the shape he's in. She whined. He'd go down before it could properly be called a fight. The blue grimaced and looked to Kara, tail still held stiffly out, but ears no longer flat against her head.
