'Ello! 2006 will be my first year in the Artist Ally, and I was curious if anyone had any pointers/tips.
Also, Is the tax thing absolutely mandatory? And if so, (I'm guessing it is) where can I find more information on obtaining one?? I *think* I want a full table, for me and my friend Lee, and I'm sure I can fill it with things. I'll probably get a half, being my first year, just to see how it all goes. Lee and I make what we like to call 'Silly Cats'. It's just a small stuffed cat out of various fabrics, with googley eyes and a bow.. and we have themed ones too (Pirate, Ninja, Gothic, Candy Cat...etc). We were wondering about how we should price them (I guess you'd have to see them to give me insight, unfortunately, my friend dropped my camera, and its dead). Aaaand, I was wondering when I can reserve my table, I deffinately want one, and I don't want them to not have any left for the Silly Cats.
: )

>O> you dont need any id to get a table..just pay to get into otakon and show your ID to get your badge. after that i think you just give the artist alley table your..table registration paper they sent you and you tell them your name/whatever and thats that. O_O i dont remember.

WARNING TO ALL ATTENDEES:
Okay, I went to the artist alley looking for pictures of shonen-ai. Well, I found a great seller and bought like 2 pictures, but they were customs. Well, I have yet to get them, and probably never will. I ordered from one table, two artists. One never even contacted me, and the other never finished. I am greatly disappointed. So, avoid those people. I belive one of them was Namiki or something like that.

Just an artist ally tip:
My friends say that there were a lot of people at artist ally, but the people who cosplayed manning the booths attracted their attention.
So... cosplaying might attract attention to your booth.
Another idea might just be cosplaying as a character in your comic, or something that you've drawn. People love to relate the comics to the artists, and cosplaying just boosts your tables image.

The artist's alley is the only place I can't remember from Otakon. I know I was in there a bunch, but I can't remember a damned thing about it.
