First, let me say I know it's a very bad thing on my part, but I hate seeing revivals. The revival of La Cage aux Folles doesn't have the tap dancing the original did. Were the nineties the death of tapdance? Chitty Chitty Bang Bang doesn't have some of my favorite scenes in it. I understand it's a remake of a movie, but still.
When I see something that's different, I determine whether it's good or not compared to the original production that I've seen, whether it be a school play, a camp play, an Off Broadway production or Broadway. Is that so very bad? Probably.
Am I the only one who does this? PLease tell me I'm not.
