Once saved always saved - I believe it. Because if you reject God after being "saved" I don't think you ever
were saved.
See, that's what I believe. However, the subject is kind of a paradox in and of itself. It depends on how you look at it, I can't type it. It's too complex for me to put into words. My head hurts.
It doesn't depends on how we look at it. That's what the Postmodern thought wants to bring to our minds, that everything is relative. We are not the ones who give salvation. We are not the judges. Our God is a
God of absolutes. What does the Bible says about 'once saved, always saved'?
1.
Someone who calls himself a Christian, but does not behave as a Christian (or later says he's not a Christian),
was NEVER a Christian. No matter how much he affirms it. The Bible says it clearly: "
They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us." (1 John 2:19)
Clearly, this verse says that if someone is a true Christian, he would remain a Christian.
2.
No one can snatch the sheep of God out of His hands. Jesus said in John 10:27-28: "
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand." Those who God saves, can't be unsaved, for salvation implies having eternal life, and if salvation is lost, then said life wouldn't be eternal. If said life wasn't eternal, then it wasn't salvation, so we go back to the verse of 1 John 2:19.
Thus, the Bible would be a lie, and as we know, the Bible is the Word of God: The God who calls Himself "the way, the truth, and the life."
3. Final thing: The "Christianity" of the modern era is characterized for being more focused on feelings rather than on the truth. Because of this, some people call themselves "Christians" because they "feel the presence of God in their hearts." The Bible
NEVER, NOT EVEN ONCE, says that if we feel something inside us, we are Christians. NO, my friends. That's a lie of the devil. What the Bible says is that "
by their fruit you will recognize them" (Matthew 7:20).
I hope I clarified your doubts with this.
