By "webpage," do you mean your profile or board signature on Gaia? Or do you mean an actual HTML file posted on the Internet for all to see?

The boards on Gaia are powered by the phpBB2 engine, which seems to be the standard these days. For the boards and the profiles, you can write using BBCode, which is similar to HTML tags. As far as HTML goes, you must first upload an image to whatever holding bin you have on the Internet, then link it using the IMG tag. A sample of this HTML tag is as follows:

IMG SRC="http://www.iz.com/gir.jpeg"

Use the < and > symbols to enclose this tag. There are also certain things you can include, such as the dimensions of the image. Using the prior sample, we can continue as so:

IMG SRC="http://www.iz.com/gir.jpeg" HEIGHT=64 WIDTH=64

Again, enclose the IMG tag using the < and > symbols. You don't need to "close" the tag with something like /IMG. The HTML tag is a free standing one, requiring no closing tags of any sort. If you're really curious, you might want to check out Webmonkey for some assistance.

I hope that I have been of aid to you. Please let me know personally if you need further clarification.
