I haven't posted anything in a while, so I figured I'd share.
#1- Rabbit.

There's a story behind this one. Recently I've found a BB gun and started shooting stuff out in my yard. There was this ground hog that I could never get, so the silly target practice became a hunting expedition for that stupid rodent. The ground hog didn't show up often and I'm a bit trigger happy, so when I saw a rabbit I jumped up and shot it. I hit it in the left jugular. I felt a bit guilty, but mostly I found it funny as hell. I painted this in honor of the deceased bunny. It's nothing special, it took about 20 minutes to paint (reference from a picture I found on google). I used the painting as a target after I made it, so now it has a bunch of holes in it.
Wow. That was a long, boring, pointless story.
#2- Random!

Random contest entry. I still haven't won anything in the contests I've done. It's a bit frustrating. Maybe I should try neater lineart. Those silly gaians seem to like that more.

You kill bunnies for fun?

The painting of the bunny is nice, anyway. On the second one, though, the only advice I can think of is: 1 - Her right art seems to have no shape to it. Try to think of bone structure when you're drawing arms. 2 - The linework is very sketchy and thick. Try to work on your line value. heart

I didn't mean to kill the bunny cry . I mistook it for the ground hog in my state of triggerhappyexcitableneedtoshootthings.

You should have eaten it. Bunnies have an odd, but rather nice taste. Good in stew.
That second picture does nothing for me. The highlights on the shirt are just blobs of lighter grey in what seems like no particular place. It's primary school colouring. Did you do that with a mouse? I can understand if it was, but really you should just slow down and zoom in if that is the case.
Your rabbit is nice, but tell me, why didn't you do a still-life painting of the dead rabbit? You would have gotten much better fur reference.

I would agree that one should profit from the rare occasion of having a dead animal to paint.
And rabbits are good. We eat them regularly here. The french are not very uptight about eating animals.

ficklefiend: I would've been all over eating it, but wild rabbits have (insert chemicalish disease sounding word that i can't remember) and its unsafe to eat. I agree about the second picture. It's pretty much digital s**t all smeared around on the screen. I did it with a mouse, but that's not much of an excuse because there's some hella good mouse art out there. I just lack the patience and skill to do it.
As for painting the dead rabbit- DAMN. Why didn't I think of that earlier? Too late now, it's in the woods rotting or getting eaten by scavengers.
Page Boy: Same as above. I'm not uptight either about eating animals. I actually suggested cooking it for dinner, but got the response I said above about the disease-tastic poisonous whatnot in it.
toadstars: I'm not such a fan of ground hogs. They're quite vicious, and are usually covered in fleas and ticks.
JapaneseVinyl: Damn. I really need to get my a** to France.
Thanks for the comments everyone!

getsumoon ficklefiend: I would've been all over eating it, but wild rabbits have (insert chemicalish disease sounding word that i can't remember) and its unsafe to eat. Myxomatosis. Actually, not all wild rabbits get this, you can tell if they do because they get bulging p***y eyes and won't run away when you go near them. We call it mixi and it tends to happen when the population gets too big, that's why it's good to go and bangbangbang before it gets to that point and enjoy some rabbit stew. /biology lesson over. mrgreen
