?At ten weeks old, the human fetus is so fully developed that fingerprints are in place.? -Dr. Russell Saco; A picture of the fully developed and recognizable feet of a ten week old fetuses feet held between Dr. Saco?s forefinger and thumb called ?tiny feet? is a widely distributed photo, though maybe not widely enough. The following are testimonies and such that I, Heather Marie Condon, have found in my search to convince readers of this paper that abortion is not only wrong and immoral, but should have NOT been legalized January 22, 1973. -It?s murder!
There are several different forms of abortion in the US today. Where as some endure chemicals injected into the womb or medication taken by the mother, others are the actual extraction of the living fetus from it?s mothers body, regardless of the length into the pregnancy; Even far into the third trimester, known as a ?late-term pregnancy?, abortion is legal up to the day before birth.
The most common form of abortion up to the fourth month is salt saline, or salt poisoning. The Dr. injects a salt saline into the mothers uterus, into the child?s living space. The child ?gulps? this liquid and is burned inside out, then the mother is to deliver a dead child with in twenty-four hours. Though this is more common in the earlier months of pregnancy, it can be used anytime after four months, say.. Up to seven. Gianna Jesson?s mother was seven months pregnant and decided to have a late-term saline abortion. Now, don?t anyone worry, Gianna is still alive today. How? She lived through the saline, with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. Miss Jesson couldn?t walk till she was three, and only with the help of braces and a walker. Today she has a slight limp and a loving foster family. Maybe it was something the Dr. did wrong, maybe it was just her lucky day that the salt poisoning didn?t kill her, whatever it may be? Gianna is pro-life, and very strong in her beliefs.
There are other instances where people have lived through abortions. Take Sarah Smith for example. Her mother had got an abortion, but about three weeks later her mother knew she was still pregnant. ?I?m sorry Ms. Smith, there were two.? Her Dr.?s words. Sarah?s mother was strongly advised to abort Sarah as well, however didn?t. Sarah was born with bilateral congenital dislocated hips, and the knowledge that her mother had tried to kill her, and had succeeded in killing her brother Andrew James. She has now forgiven everyone, but says that she wishes she could have known her brother, and no one will ever take his place. In my opinion, this is proof enough that someone is always dismayed or hurt by abortion. If that isn?t enough proof, here? The testimony of a man whose girlfriend got an abortion and then told him about it. -A father's post-abortion testimony:
I shall never know in this life whether my child was a boy or a girl. My former girlfriend, the mother of my child, only told me a number of weeks later that she had been pregnant and that she had had an abortion. Not a day goes by that I don't think about it. I have told only four persons, two of whom live far away and the other two can be relied upon to keep it secret. One of the latter, a close friend, suspected that something serious was wrong and pried the truth from me by degrees. The first big clue was when I went with her to a hospital maternity ward to visit her sister and new niece. When a nurse held the infant up in the nursery, I turned sheet-white. I still have violent emotional reactions. For instance, a television news program recently showed a woman strapped to an operating table awaiting her "procedure." Some ghastly older woman came in and smiled at her a phony "everything will be just fine soon, Deary" smile. In the few seconds it took me to leap out of the chair and turn off the TV I thought, "I'd like to wipe that smile off her face with a baseball bat." My trust in women and in people in general has been rocked. I have not been able to sustain any kind of relationship with a woman since and doubt that I shall ever be able to trust a woman enough to marry her. I doubt, too, whether my own reaction to marriage and children will be adequate. Don't I already have a first child? There is so much more I could say - the strange reactions one gets to news of friends getting married and having children. The sensation of looking at an infant nephew and wondering, "Would my son have looked like this?" My girlfriend's abortion turned the world upside down and there has been no justice to turn it right side up. ?My girlfriend's abortion turned the world upside down..? That shows that the child isn?t the only one hurt, but the father can be as well. Men whom have lost their child to abortion often have side effects just as women do. These may include: .Sleeplessness; bad dreams; nightmares .Sexual dysfunctions .Depression, fear of failure/rejection .Loneliness or numbness .Relationship struggles .Difficulty with commitment .Lack of self worth .Inability to trust friends .Anger, rage .Addictions .Sexual compulsions In order to understand the reaction of men to an abortion, you must understand what drives them: pleasure, procreate, provide, protect, and perform. The impact of an abortion and it?s reality interrupts this ?sequence? and develops anger, frustration, and confusion. When women under go abortions they can have physical and emotional reactions that may never go away. Like, Holly Marie Patterson. Holly was 18, went to get an abortion, type RU-486, and died several days later, on September 17, 2003. ?Monty Patterson said he learned from an attending physician at the hospital that [his daughter] had died after a massive infection caused by fragments of the fetus left inside [his daughter]?s uterus caused her to go into septic shock.?
This brings me to the different types of abortion, which are: .Suction aspiration .Dilation and curettage .RU-486 and methotrexate .Salt poisoning (saline) .Prostaglandin abortion .Hysterotomy .PBA (Partial Birth Abortion)
PBA is legal in 26 states with few regulations, 23 states have banned PBA, and 21 states allow PBA for life and health reasons only. Wait a minuet, that makes 70 states! -information counteraction. In my outline and on several note cares the words ?information counteraction? were placed, and here is where it all comes together. All three of the facts stated came from the same site, yet they counteract each other. So this brings one question to my mind, Just how many states allow PBA and what, if any restrictions are placed on this form of abortion? We may never know ?till some Dr.? and public officials gets their stories straight.
Take Dr. Haskell, he admitted to performing 2000 partial birth abortions in ONE year, add that figure to the number of abortionist in the states today? That should come to about 1.5 MILLION abortions per year, and that statistic makes abortion a modern day Holocaust. Maybe Hitler wasn?t the problem after all. Furthermore, Dr. Haskell says that only 20% of the abortions he performs are for medical or heath reasons, the other 80% are purely elective, being the mother simply wants no responsibility for her actions. This brings me to another point, Can abortion be justified? Patricia Lunneburg thinks that unwanted pregnancy justifies abortion, She goes on to say that the majority of abortions are preformed because a woman?s birth control failed in someway, hence an unwanted child. I personally don?t think that unwanted pregnancy is the highest cause of abortion, but poor education from teachers and parents. If when people were younger they understood that until they had a job, maybe a home of their own, ect. Before they even thought about anything more, then they would know that the ONLY 100% sure way to prevent pregnancy is abstinence. Did you know in a PBA, the baby is alive till the end of the procedure? Did you know that the procedure is guaranteed to be painful to the child? How you ask, well let me lead you through a partial birth abortion. -Step one: The baby is turned around to a ?breech? position by forceps. -Step two: The arms, legs, and torso only are removed, leaving the head inside the uterus or birth cannel. -see figures two and three. -Step three: The back of the baby?s skull is punctured by scissors or a trochar. -see figure four. -Step four: A tube is inserted in the hole as to collapse the skull and remove the brain. -see figure four again. -Step five: The of the now dead child slides from it?s mother, completing the abortion and birth of the now dead child.
A quote from my seventh source about a PBA abortion. -Brenda Pratt Shafer, a registered nurse from Dayton, Ohio, assisted Dr. Haskell in a Partial Birth Abortion on a 26-1/2 week (over 6 months) pre-born baby boy. She testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee (on 11/17/95) about what she witnessed. According to nurse Shafer, the baby was alive and moving as the abortionist ?delivered the baby?s body and arms - everything but the head. The doctor kept the baby?s head just inside the uterus. The baby?s little fingers were clasping and unclasping, his feet were kicking. Then the doctor stuck the scissors through the back of his head, and the baby?s arms jerked out in a flinch, a startle reaction, like a baby does when he thinks he might fall. The doctor opened up the scissors, stuck a high-powered suction tube into the opening and sucked the baby?s brains out. Now the baby was completely limp.?-
No matter how you justify this form of abortion, this procedure of killing an unborn, or rather partially born child is wrong, immoral, and frankly sickening. Thursday, January 22, 1973 was a sad day for many people, though they are not alive, for on that day this ?justifiable? form of murder was made legal. Just as the Holocaust of the 1930? and 40?s was legal, and yet everyone fought Hitler because they found him wrong in what he was doing, which was trying to make a perfect world. However.. No one is fighting for these children lost to abortion every year, no one is morning their loss as we did when over 1 million Jews were killed in gas camps. No one is trying to shut down these modern day clinics that are poisoning and destroying children every day. The fact is, that abortion, no matter what ?technique? used, is murder.
John Paul II- Our late pope, said ?Human life begins the moment the ovum is fertilized and every human being has a sacred and inviolable right to life.?
..I may just be a girl in high school, and yet, I am one of the FEW people who can see the truth in all this, murder is illegal, but abortion has been legal for 32 years as of Saturday, January 22, 2005.

Wow, you really worked on that a lot, eh? It's nice. I'm in high school and sometimes I look around and think no one else around my age cares. A few members in this guild have proved me wrong, and you're one of them.
I'd just like to point out that not everyone was fighting Hitler...they didn't do it until he became a threat to them. A lot of people in the US tried to ignore what was going on and claimed it was all lies, propaganda, etc. that these horrible things were happening. Abortion can't scare them like that, they can't be aborted. They can lose children and grandchildren to abortion, however....I think that's why a lot of people become prolife once they have kids of their own. They realize in those critical nine months how...how much danger their child is in, really. Especially men. At least that's just my theory.
I never realized the inconsistancy with what they say about state laws on abortion. And that's a very good point about what men go through when they lose a child to abortion. Prochoice likes to champion "understanding" men, who are apparently in short supply, but I'm pretty sure the reason they find so few is because men kinda like to have a say in the matter of the lives of their children and can suffer as much psychologically as women do from abortion.
