I was discussing this with a close friend a week or so back, and I thought it would make for some interesting discussion on the fourm. ^^
But, anyways, what I was discussing with my friend was the age of ones soul. Such ages are not measured in mortal years, but in how much your soul has matured over a series of lifetimes(or even if you've gained immense experience over a span of just a few lifetimes). This really has little to do with outward sense of maturity, as I have seen many goofy semi-immature people who appear to have older souls. I really don't know how to explain how one can figure out how old thier soul... I just more or less 'sense' it...
I do feel that my soul is fairly old, though it's extremely difficult to decipher how old. Sometimes I just have this sense of weariness with the monotony of life, as if I've gone through this so many times that I just need a rest from it all; yet, despite this I also have this sense of conflicting emotions due to my lacking of a comprehensive understanding of human nature. I can see two sides of the human soul, yet I have yet to be able to understand exactly how they can work together in harmony. Sometimes I have this very optimistic view of humanity, but at other times it's very pessimistic (though I do believe in the fundamental goodness of man...). This view leads me to believe that my soul, though older than most, is not extremely old and is going through a bit of a 'mid-life crisis' so to speak. I don't know... I have this sense of monotony and an extreme mellowness that often comes after many years of life, however I still retain these conflicting emotions and have yet to gain a full understanding of life, humanity, nature, and divinity.
I just wanted to hear everyone elses opinions and takes on this.

My soul's still a puzzle to me, but I get the feeling that it's old, I've always had that feeling to some degree, but I wouldnt even began to know how old, or even to understand the state of my soul, that's just how it feels to me.

To me my soul feels yong and new to the world. there are so many things that i want and feel that I need to experience. I wish i could describe it to you, but it's very hard to put it in words. I feel a need to read books on different perspectives. I just want to make sense of everything.

My soul feels relatively young. I often have an optimistic outlook on life. That may have to do with the fact that I'm also young in mortal years right now, but I don't think that's the complete answer. Sometimes I feel like there's a wide horizon in front of me, and although I already know a little I need to learn more.

I have to say that I feel I am an older soul. People always come to me for advice, and it was like I even understood my mother's emotional issues as a child...and I always tried to protect her and look out for her.

i see my soul as mid old and new. i can not realy deal with people emotions very well but can understand people emotion a little. sometime i can be view by some one with common sence. but at the same time do something just for the experience. i can tend to be old fashion and new at the same time and like to figure out people problems for some odd reson. I think with people with older souls take life more ease then some one with a new one. example i think some new souls would be trying to be cool and empress others while a older soul just chill out and do some thing ells. so my answer is experience. i think a soul and life it self is to have experience, with out it what is life for. which would leads to you DreamerSpirit is that some things can not be learn by what you hear and read, but by exspriencing it. only then you can uderstand. i think over time for your soul to life to life you will begain to understand. which for me i have the same problem, understanding human nature. just a theroy do people with a stronger faith tend to have old souls then then people with new souls. because i learn that some people do things more differently with them selfs then others with faith.

I feel like I have lived a little over a thousand lifetimes... but I still feel like I don't know much. lol. I must not have made the most of them. I've been told by empaths and psychics that I am an empath and a "powerful" healer.. and that I am a wise soul, but I just don't feel that any of these things are true for me. My senses are very dull to others' emotions, sometimes I feel I have no sympathy for anyone who isn't close to me, and as for being a healer I don't feel I have any natural talent for it. I've received the master level of Reiki, but before my Reiki training I did not feel like I had any natural healing ability. and even now I don't feel I deserve the title of "Reiki Master". When I do healings it works great, but I hardly feel a thing.
If what people say about me is true, then it must be that i HAD those traits before i entered this lifetime, because i just don't feel that they are true for me now. That must have been one hell of an amnesia pill I took before I came here. lol
