This morning, I asked my dad if I could take his car down the street on an errand. He, of course, replied with a stright up 'no'. I asked him why, and he said he didn't want me to. I asked him again, and he said the same thing. I told him he didn't trust me driving, and he said yes. I told him mom lets me drive her truck, which is a standard. Also, I sapose I should say that I've had my license for a little less than a month now. The state of New Mexico says I can drive. But in any case, he later told me he'd take me for my errand. So I agreed. I later asked him when we would go, and he yelled at me and said later. So I left him alone about it, and he toiled the day away on Everquest. Now, it's too late to go. About 30 minutes ago, I asked him when we were gonna go. He huffed, looked at the clock and said, "Tomorrow morning." I huffed and went to my room. As I was about to go in the hallway he said, "Maybe after bowling." I should have known better than to trust him on something like this, because he'd much rather play on the computer than spend time with me. The other day he said he loved me for the first time in at least five years. He was drunk, but it still meant a great deal to me. I should have known better than to think he meant it. He can't keep his word.
I know it's something simple, but he does this all the time. He doesn't take me seriously. He likes to pretend I'm still seven. He loves spending time with my brother, but when it comes to spending time with me, he makes excuses. He wouldn't even go to my birthday party.
