A sneeze echoed throughout the building as the Caretaker looked around the main level of the Forge. "I think it's time to dust," she said quietly to herself, as there was no one else, and there hadn't been in quite some time. Humming softly to herself, the Caretaker opened the front door of the Forge to let in some air and sunlight as she cleaned. She stopped humming long enough to laugh at the thought that had crossed her mind. "I don't think anyone's going to stop by," she scolded her mental self, before resuming her humming and dusting.

As if to mock her thoughts, a figure moved slowly down the sidewalk, the toddler finally able to walk next to her. While Takiko moved at a leasurly pace, the baby beside her moved as fast as her body would alow, making it seem strange that the adult would not help one bit.

Takiko knew though, helping Sjestaia walk would just result in a massive hissy fit, which was not what she wanted.

Pausing a moment, the teen caught sight of the old door slamming open, and her eyes widened in result. Unbelieving that it could be alive after so long, she glanced to her 'daughter' before a light smile crossed her features.

"Taia...lets go in the store, hmm?" Seeing the small toddler almost contemplating herself, Takiko laughed at the nod, and picked up Sjestaia to head inside.

It was a new place for a new start and she was happy to be here. It was strange though that she happened to find this strange dim shop to enter first but she saw some signs of life and that to her meant that she could meet people and buy some things maybe, who knows what could happen.

She went into the shop not long after the other with the baby had gone in, but she did not know any such person had entered she was far too lost in her own mind to think such things.

She wasn't a clean person but nor a dirty one, the dress she wore was torn and dirty in several places but then thats expected when someone has been sleeping rough. She had decided she would stay here and would look for somewhere to live, this was the reason for entering the shop, to ask for directions.

As she entered though, the thought of living somewhere seemed to not be so important anymore. She saw the woman and the baby and the strange shop keeper. She looked around at the shelves before she actually even thought of saying anything, her black hair was tied back in a ponytail with the ribbon which she was glad of, it seemed dirty in here and it took her years to clean her hair properly!

Nathaniel sighed as he walked into the store he'd seen a day or so before, walking slowly seeing more than one body inside. He wasn't sure how him being the only man would help.

Moving inside he looked at the Caretaker, Takiko, and the other lady. He frowned at the, one again, empty shelves. "Hello," he said to no one in particular, without moving his gaze.

Finally, he looked away, only to move his eye sight to the couch. He walked slowly, more gentle than most men, over to the couch. He sat himself down and mumbled lowly.

Joining Nathaniel on the couch, Takiko smiled brightly and settled Taia on her lap, a grin taking over her cheeks. It seemed that more were coming to the shop now a days, so she couldn't wait to meet all the new faces and help others believe, just as she did.

"Hello!" She responded cheerfully, shifting again to get more confortable and pulling a hand through her hair. It seemed the whole situation was taking control of her and causing her to become all giddy, "It is good to see more faces around her, usually it is just myself and Sjestaia all day, the town is almost deadly."

Caught in the act! The Caretaker froze, arm outstretched as she reeeached for a shelf with a duster. "Um," she said, eyes slightly wild as she looked around. "Hello," she continued, gradually lowering her arm. Upon seeing Takiko and Taia, her eyes brightened and a smile flickered across her face. "Yes, the town is quiet," she added, bobbing her head in affirmation. The Caretaker canted her head to the side in question. "I know this will sound strange, but, why are you all here?"

"I apologize, I am new here, this is the first place I came to." The girl smiled and bowed her head at the shop keeper polietly.

She turned to the girl with the baby and bowed her head, "Your child is beautiful, may I hold her?" She was curious about children, always wanting one herself but never finding the right guy.

.::Thinking::.

She had walked off from the shop quite confused, why would anyone give her a bracelet that didn't fit? She pocketed the purple bracelet and went home.

Home, that was where she loved to be, she had a beautiful pet cat, she was calico long haired kitten. She adored her.

As she reached her house she saw the kitten waiting for her, as she always did, wandering up to her and rubbing around her legs. She chuckled and picked her up, "Honestly, Amber, you should have stayed in doors today! Its chilly!" She smiled kissing the kitten on the head and unlocking the front door, entering and putting Amber on the ground.

Leaving the keys on the side she walked in and collapsed on a chair, getting out the bracelet she looked at it again and sighed. "Amber, come here girl." The kitten came running happily and jumped up onto her lap purring happily as she did so often. Violet continued to look at the bracelet, so confused before she tried it on Amber but it was too big. Sorry girl, your too skinny!" She laughed as someone knocked on the door.

She placed the bracelet down and while holding Amber went to the door. She opened the door and looked around, confused. "Hello?" She was about to shut the door when a boy, identical to her jumped out infront of her.

"SURPRISE!" The boy laughed as both Violet and Amber jumped. He bent down towards Amber and stroked her back, "Hello girl, miss me?" He laughed, the same laugh as violet had before looking up at her.

"Oscar!" She laughed and put her arms around him. "Are you staying? Oh please say you are. I want to show you something, its really rather odd." She scooped Amber up and moved aside to let her twin in.

"Yeah I am staying this time, I got kicked out my job, not working hard enough or something, I think they are a little deluded. Anyway, this thing you want to show me?"

"Oh yes! Folow me." She led him to where she had been previously sitting and put Amber down, picking up the bracelet. "Suppose to be special or something." She handed it to Oscar to examine.

"Special? Nah they are having ya on, I hope you didn't pay for it, we need the money sis. Come on, its getting late. Bed time I think. Come on Amber lets get you some supper first." Oscar smiled at Violet before leading Amber to the kitchen.

Sighing she watched him go. Surely.. it had to be special, didn't it? No, Oscar was probably right, it didn't mean anything.

.::The park::.

Remove
Violet had found somewhere, away from the shop where she first got this strange object, a bangle that wouldn't fit! She chuckled a little before putting it away, she played with it far too much, as if it had some sort of hold on her.

She had found a small park, benches dotted about here and there, this is where she spent most of her time now. It was a lovely place to relax and not many seemed to walk through here.

She got the purple bangle out again and started to play with it again. What else had she to do?

Final_Crucible
Not too far down from the park, a figure sat brushed the sands with another. They were playing in the sandbox, something the toddler still loved to do dispite how much she was growing still. Takiko had a feeling that, soon enough, the strange diety-like girl would have another growth spurt, and would become an even bigger part of her life.

Looking up to the sky above, Takiko leaned back and left the toddler to play alone for a moment, just thinking over the past few weeks and the new members of the family who were currently in her home. Her brother, a new nephew and now she had a few pets, everything was just getting smaller and smaller in that house.

But worst of all, she needed a job.

Remove
Getting up she walked through the park and then past where the mother and daughter were playing. She dropped her bangle accidently before leaning over to pick it up. It was then she noticed the girl in the sand box.

She had seen her before with her mother in the shop when she had recieved her bangle. "Hello there little one!" She smiled and kneeled down by the little girl, putting the bangle into her pocket.

Final_Crucible
Turning her head, her hands caught in mid lift as the youth blinked silently at the elder girl. Gaping slightly in her childish way, Taia tilted her head as well before her bi-colored eyes caught sight of the bangle.

When it was pushed into the pocket, the todder's face fell into a tight frown, before her first and favorate word sunk out of her mouth.

"Mine!" And with that, she moved to grab out to where the stranger was, before Takiko saw what was going on and quickly diverted the child's attention by picking her up.

Remove
Violet smiled and got the bracelet out again, "Here she can look at it if she wants." The girl smiled, she adored children so this was definatly something she would like to do, give the child something to play with, maybe even keep it. The bracelet didn't fit her nor be any use so why not give it to someone who wants it?

"She is such a lovely girl. You must be so happy!" That was all she really had to say, she was too busy admiring the toddler.

Final_Crucible
As soon as Violet offered the bracelet, Taia grabbed out for it with a quick squirm. However, Takiko pulled her back and let out a soft sigh, seeing the quick hissy fit that was about to ensue.

"Actually...it would be better if that didn't happen, Taia has a tendency of keeping things she is attached to and hiding them somewhere I don't even know of...so it is better to just wait until she finds something else, and endure the crying that I am sure will happen right about-"

As soon as her words trailed off, she was caught with a soft wail before more squirming and scratching took place, the baby set on getting what she wanted no matter what the cost. Since she had issues with the bigger mother, she could only cry her way through it until she got older and learned new techniques.

Remove
Violet looked a little confused but just nodded.

"She could have it if she wanted, I mean, a bracelet that doesn't fit isn't very useful to me. It might fit her." She watched the little one crying, which tugged at her heart, she would be a rubbish mother, purely because she would hate having her child crying so much.
blaugh

Final_Crucible
Distracted for a moment, Takiko glanced up to where Violet was and blinked at the offer, her sense of Dejavu taking over for a moment.

"...my ring never fit either..." Soft musing caught the child off gaurd, and Taia stopped her crying as if she knew just what Takiko was really speaking of. At once, her chubby fingers gripped the ring as well, before looking back to her mother.

"Really, it would be too much, and Taia already has enough nice stuff...you should keep it..."

Remove
She looked confused again.

"You had a ring?" She wasn't sure whether or not she was suppose to hear the words, but she did. She was curious. She still found this bangle thing rather uninteresting and somewhat boring.

"Oh, ok, maybe I could give her a gift some other time." She smiled and looked at the bracelet again.

Final_Crucible
Takiko jumped at the question, and blinked once more up to the girl before her.

"Oh well, I still do, it is just...Taia has it now, it really belonged to her. You see, after I found the ring...well she..." Trailing off with a soft laugh, Takiko settled Taia down on in the sand and moved to stand, brushing her pants clean.

"You probably would think it silly...but Taia found me." Sending a soft smile to violet with a seepish blush, she turned to look up to the clouded sky.

Remove
She sat down, playing with the bracelet a little before putting it down in front of her. "Please explain that to me, i would be interested in hearing the story."

She pushed her hand through her hair and settled down to get comfortable so she could listen.

Final_Crucible
"It is quite a long story, one that is hard to tell in one sitting...but I could give you the simple summary, if you last through that..." A nervous chuckle sounded from Takiko's lips as she blushed slightly, "Please forgive me ahead of time...only my brother believes the so-called fairytale..."

And with that, she settled in the grass beside the sandbox, just looking to the sky for a long moment with a contemplative expression.

"I would say it was a year and a half back, possibly a little longer, when I ran across a strange dusty shop..."

Remove
She nodded, "I will listen, then decide whether to believe." She was being honest, she couldn't believe beforehand now could she?

She listened, this is what she needed to know, so it made sense for her to listen, to try and understand what happened to thie girl here.

Final_Crucible
Just silenced for a moment, a slow smile once more crept across Takiko's features, her whistful gaze starring in the distance she she pictured the events one step at a time.

"I had appeared in there a few times before, and always no one seemed to be around. It almost was abondened, until the day I ran across this strange, ebony ring. It all but glowed before my eyes, and I couldn't help but be drawn to it, until I found myself taking it home. When I returned a few days later, I met a girl, but she insisted I keep it, saying great things were only to come..."

Pausing to wet her lips, she closed her eyes before continuing on, "I always knew myself as a dreamer, so every day I prayed that something great would come from the ring. Dreams of it being of the gods filtered my nights, until one day I went downstairs only to hear a shrill crying. The gods had heard my prayers, and they blessed me with Taia, my beautiful little girl..."

As she said this, the child had crawled to where Violet set down the bracelet, and all at once attempted to hide it in her clothing. A good ways away when she attempted this, the child just blinked innocently towards Takiko, having assumed the 'I'm not doing anything' pose.

Remove
She listened, confused but interested. "You think this bracelet might be special then?" She looked down to where she had put it but smiled at the girl instead, it was probably in her pocket.

She thought about it a bit, strange things could happen and this girl didn't look like her mother, so maybe? "I.. I think I believe your story. I do hope it can come true for me. That would be nifty." She chuckled a little and looked at Taia again. She was so pretty, Violet had always wanted children. She wasn't sure how her brother would react though.

Final_Crucible
Shrugging seepishly, Takiko looked to where Taia was with a thoughtful glance, before once more turning her attention back upon the girl.

"There is always the chance...but I guess the only determination is if you believe in the gods..." Sighing, she picked up the toddler so Taia was standing, before brushing off the sands that were on the girl's clothing. Not feeling out the bracelet, for it was quite small as of yet, she just passed right over it much to the pleasure of the young child.

"I apoligize Violet, for it is getting late, but maybe we could meet again? I would enjoy someone else to spend time with besides my fool of a brother." Turning her smile up a bit, she moved to pull out a spare scrap paper on the back of her grocery list, digging around for a small pencil as well she had used to cross the items off.

"Here is my address, if you ever would like to come over, you are more than welcome!"

Remove
She listened and nodded, she would have to do some reading.

"OH I would love to!" She took the paper happily and smiled, "Thank you very much for the story and everything. I shall hopefully come over at some point! Thank you!" She chuckled a little, smiling happily before turning and rushing off a little.

She wanted to go home and read and believe and examine the bracelet some more.

Final_Crucible
Watching as the other turned and rushed away, Takiko picked up Taia and just looked silently at the child before you.

"You my dear, are in dire need of a nice bath...lets head on home..." And with that she walked off, the child in her arms holding a very content smirk that Takiko failed to take note of. Had she done so, she might have realized just what was up, but alas that would be an event to be discovered for another day.

.:: Missing and Research ::.

She had rushed home to look up things, she had always been interested in odd things like this.

She didn't care much for her brother who seemed to be in a foul mood, she just got in with what it was she wanted to do. She didn't get the bracelet out her pocket, she ran for the bookshelf and started to read.

She read.

And read.

And read.

Once she had decided she read enough she smiled and looked in her pocket for the bracelet, however it wasn't there. She nearly cried but pulled herself together thinking carefully, where she had it and what she did.

She sat down breathing deeply thinking carefully. She had put it in her pocket, but then got it out again, she was playing with it but then she put it down, listening to the story and then Taia, no she wouldn't believe that. The toddler couldn't have taken the bracelet.

She sighed and decided that she would read some more and then look through all her pockets and her coat pocket again, she had to look again a toddler couldn't have taken a bracelet from her, it wasn't normal, a toddler, but then she probably liked it, oh this was so confusing!

She settled back down and flicked through the pages, scanning over them till her cat jumped on her lap, it made her chuckle a little and it cheered her up somewhat making a fuss of her little cat, kissing its head and hugging it. “Oh where is it, hmm?” She smiled, looking up to see a weird look from her brother.

“Violet, I worry about you.”

“You always do. You haven't seen a purple bangle about have you?”

“Violet? You been stealing again?”

She stared at him and laughed. “I take that as a no then!” She chuckled and stood up, holding the cat in her arms before turning to the kitty on her chair.

“Well if you see it tell me.” She smiled before looking through her coat again, it wasn't there.

She ran up to her room and cried, she didn't want to believe that a toddler had taken it but then didn't the women say something about shiny things? Maybe. Maybe not. She had to find out.

She stood up, washed her face and walked downstairs.

“I am going for a walk, see ya later!” The minute she was outside she ran, her tears welling up with tears again. She wanted that bracelet, after all the reading, it meant more to her then anything right now.

.::Return::.

Final_Crucible
The night grew young as Takiko settled within the kitchen, reminding herself of earlier that week when she met the other girl, Violet. A smile crossed her features at the idea, and she just looked back to the meal soon after. It all felt like it was slipping into place, her brother was home and she had a new friend to spend her time in the town with when he just got to be too much.

That and Taia seemed quite content and well behaived these past few days. Thinking nothing else on the matter, the teen finished with the soup and went to check on the chicken, readying a nice feast to end an amazing week.

Upstairs, Taia was slumbering away in her crib, the four mysterious stolen items all tucked safely underneath the pillow to hopefully never be discovered until she found her own better hiding place.

Remove
Violet was in a panic. She had spent all the time looking or researching fo her bracelet, then it clicked.

Taia.

She rushed to get her coat shouting at her brother as she rushed out the door and down the street, a piece of paper in her hand. She looked at each house quickly but the one she wanted was easy to find.

She ran up the path and knocked on the door a few times,

"Please be in, please be in, oh please!" She was pratically begging at the door, she wanted her bracelet back, it had been stolen and she wanted it back now.

Final_Crucible
Hazel gray eyes snapped in the direction of the sounds as they made way through the house. Waiting a moment to see if her brother would answer, Takiko just let out a frustrated sigh soon after.

"Thank you Inny!" She called out harshly, before setting down her food and closing the oven, "I'm coming, I'm coming!"

With that, she moved across the way and to the door, unlocking the thick bolt before opening it with a wide eyed gaze, "Violet...is something wrong?" It only took one look at the flustered girl for Takiko to know the answer.

"Please, come in."

Remove
She walked in and looked around, hoping she might see the bracelet somewhere. She turned quickly though, "My bracelet.. I think Taia has it." She didn't want to accuse the toddler but she had looked so many times to try and find it.

"I am sorry for saying she has.. I just can't find it and I know what you said about her liking things... and then.. oh I am sorry." She stopped talking and looked at her feet feeling very silly.

Final_Crucible
Closing the door behind them, Takiko just leaned against it slowly and glanced to a figure that walked through the far hall and to the kitchen. At least her brother could do something right, and helping finish the dinner worked fine. Looking back to Violet, she couldn't help the smile that crossed her face at her antics, though it soon turned into a frown.

"Why am I not surprised..." She mumbled lowly, before rolling her eyes and pulling a hand through her hair, "I love that girl to death, but she just really loves her shiny things...so I don't blame you for coming to me..." Trailing off, she glanced towards the stairs and wondered if the toddler was still asleep or no.

Remove
She nodded, "I wouldn't have minded but when thinking about your story, I just couldn't help wonder, I mean, what if?" She looked helpless and rather distraught, not quite understanding what was going on or what she was really doing about it. She had done her research, hadn't told her brother for he cared little about her.

She wanted a child so badly, she wasn't going to let a chance slip away.

Final_Crucible
Takiko forgot about Taia for just a moment, and just looked at where Violet stood. Smiling softly, she brushed a hand once more through her hair and let out a warm laugh.

"So you really do believe..." Looking down a moment, she got caught before shaking her head and moving to the stairs, "Come on, her room is right upstairs...that would be the only place for her to hide such a treasure, she doesn't have full reign anywhere else..."

Remove
Violet nodded and looked up at her, forcing a smile onto her face before following up the stairs to hopefully find the bracelet she was desperatly looking for.

Final_Crucible
With each step closer to the room, Takiko just had to wonder if indeed her child was a theif, though somehow she already knew the grim answer. For when her hand touched the knob, behind the closed door a child quickly placed the bracelet back underneath her pillow and fell back into her sleeping position.

A creak sounded in the room while Takiko opened the door, and light streamed to the small crib. Looking in with a solid gaze, the teen moved to go further and check on the child.

"Taia...Taia darling get up..." With that, she picked up the 'drowzy' toddler and settled her in her arms.

Remove
Violet moved carefully behind her, not wanting to move too quickly, or too slowly but she was slightly nervous. What if she had it all wrong? What if the bracelet was still at home somewhere?

She just watched, not saying anything, lingering in the doorway.

Final_Crucible
Lifting the child up, Takiko just looked at her a moment before letting out a mix of a laugh and a sigh. She saw those eyes open slightly to peak through. And with that she held the toddler with one hand and moved towards the crib with the other.

"I figure the only place it could be is here...under the covers or something..." And with that she started with her right hand to search the covers, ignoring the suddenly fussy child that sat in her other hand.

It was when she went under the pillow that everything stilled, her hand touching a small object that should not have been there in the first place.

Remove
Violet watched the toddler this time and the fuss she kicked up. It made her even more suspicious.

She did turn her attention to the toddlers mother for a while and when her hand stilled she stared. "Is it?" She wanted to know, she needed to know.

Final_Crucible
Pulling out the item, she blinked a moment before setting Taia down with a cold air. Back still turned to Violet, she hoarsly called out in the slight darkness.

"Could you turn on a light please?" With that she just starred at the item, disbeliving that a toddler would do such a thing though silenly understanding that the girl had no idea it was wrong, yet.

With that she turned, and opened her hand to show the bracelet sitting there, smooth still dispite how her hand was starting to shake.

Remove
Violet did as asked. Turning the light on she looked back seeing her bracelet. She didn't ask for it back, she couldn't even start to know what the girl was feeling.

She just stood there looking at the two of them and the bracelet, her bracelet, she had it back, or would soon.

Her heart was starting to calm down now, her imagenation flying, she could have her own child now, her own daughter or maybe a son, oh she couldn't wait.

Final_Crucible
After spending a good minute looking at the bracelet, Takiko quickly set the thing in Violet's arms, not sure if she even grabbed it. Turning back towards Taia, she blinked at the girl, slowly inhailing. Letting it all out from her nose, she shook her head and moved towards the door.

"Taia needs to sleep some more..." A soft whisper, she moved to pass Violet, and paused when they were shoulder to shoulder, "I'm sorry for what Sjestaia has done...and for all the inconvience it has caused, I do hope you can forgive her one day...but I can't say she didn't mean it, for she knew exactly what she was doing..."

Leaving it at that, she moved to stand by the door, and held it for Violet as she waited for her to leave the bedroom.

Remove
Violet nodded. "Thank You." She smiled and walked out, happy to have the bracelet back in her hand, at last, her bracelet and the chance that it might be a child.

"I can forgive her, if she knew what she was doing or not, she is still a child, they have to do wrong to do right sometimes." At least she had anyway. She smiled and looked down at the bracelet before holding it close to her chest.

Final_Crucible
Walking down the stairs, she glanced towards the kitchen to see dinner already ready, and let out another sigh.

"It seems my dinner is ready...I wish I could offer you some, but there is only enough for myself and my brother..." Her voice still soft, she was stunned at the revelation, and was currently thinking of other things that had gone missing. Her ring, her necklace, Inny's earring, were they all a part of Taia's collection?

Moving to the door, she gripped the handle before smiling softly once again, "Please come back again, we can have lunch sometime...and if you are blessed, I would love to see a new face in these parts as well. I just know it now, that bracelet is something special alright."

Remove
She smiled, "Its fine really, I would like to go home and, pray I guess." She chuckled and put her arms around Takiko giving her a hug.

"Thank you, for everything and I shall see you soon I hope!" She smiled and walked out the door, maybe now, maybe she would have the child she wanted.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 18, 2006 2:26 pm

She hadn't let go of the bracelet since she got back home, her brother had been giving her the odd looks that he always did but she didn't care, she had it back.

She had gone upto her room where she had prayed, and begged, what else could she do? She had gone back down to supper, leaving the bracelet in the front room, after eating supper her brother had pratically carried her up to bed, she had been so tired and thats where she spent the rest of the night sleeping.

In the morning however she was very rudely awoken. A scream from her brother.

"VIOLET GET DOWN HERE NOW!" She crawled out of bed, the thought of a child suddenly in her head, she rushed downstairs and looked around.

"What happened?" She looked so confused, their cat was curled up hissing ontop of the cabnet and the room was a mess.

"Follow me." He led her into the dining room where in the middle of the floor sat a girl, purple in colour looking ever so innocent.

User Image

"What is this Violet? Isn't that your bracelet?" He pointed the tail on the girl and then looked at Violet who was now smiling more then most could think possible.

Violet rushed over and picked her up, "Beryth, that is what I will call her, oh isn't she adorable!" She held the cat girl in her arms and smiled. Oh it had come true, she had her daughter, her own daughter and she was so beautiful!

However, it wasn't Violet who saw the smirk on the toddlers face, that happened to be her brother who saw it.

"Violet get rid of her, she isn't yours." He walked out the room, he wasn't having anything to do with that creature.

Violet however was shocked by his words and just hugged her daughter. Her own child. She had to go and show Taia, they could be friends!

.::{Q}Mice or Rats?::.

“VIOLET!!!!!”

She woke with a start, rubbing her eyes before jumping out of bed, across the hall and into Beryths room. She sighed. Beryth was still in her bed and still sleeping, thank goodness.

“Oscar shush, Beryth is sleeping!” She got downstairs and saw Oscar holding Amber next to a pile of dead mice. “Whats going on?” She looked a little confused to why Oscar was so angry, so Amber had been out hunting that wasn't the end of the world.

“Amber has been hunting the mice in this house!” He spoke quieter now, he hated the thing upstairs and while it was sleeping it made no noise or chaos. “I am going to get some poison.” He threw Amber into Violets arms and stormed upstairs to find his jacket.

“Oscar, wait, what about Amber!” She chased after him, blocking his bedroom doorway. “If we get poison and then Amber eats one of the dead mice....” She looked at him sternly and then sighed. “Fine, Amber will have to stay shut in Beryths room and I am coming with you!”

“Your gonna leave her alone?”

“Amber will be fine with Beryth they get on so well and Beryth is still asleep it won't matter.” She smiled at her brother and took Amber to Beryths room. Leaving the cat in the cot she went out, made sure all doors into the room were shut and got her jacket before following her brother out.

Amber was having far too much for the cat of her age. The house had been infested with rats not mice, silly humans, which meant lots of time to play with them, chase them and occasionally eat them! She had caught one just before she was taken up and dumped in Beryths cot, though she didn't mind one bit with a part human as a best friend she had the greatest idea. Listening till the adults had gone she then set to waking Beryth. They had some hunting to do!

Beryth unlike most children didn't cry when she woke up and saw a cat right in front of her, instead she smiled and chuckled a little while reaching out to hold the cat. Amber however jumped from Beryths grasp and mewed a little before jumping and releasing the door on the cot. Beryth just had to jump out and then they could hunt together.

Beryth made it out the cot with a little trouble but she did it. She landed and hurt herself but didn't cry as Amber was obviously in a hurry which meant there wasn't time to cry. Following the cat they managed to open the door between them and crawl along the corridor. Beryth stopped at the top of the stairs and looked a little worried. She watched Amber who jumped onto the banister using her tail to keep her balance. Beryth couldn't jump but instead she used her tail to help her get down the stairs though she slipped a couple of times she made it down mostly unharmed.

Amber led Beryth to where the rats were coming out and sat there staring and waiting. Beryth was a little annoyed about the whole thing and wished that she could hunt like Amber. She wasn't letting Amber have all the fun though.

She moved around the house crawling on her hands and knees and looking around. She couldn't find anything of interest as of yet but there had to be something around somewhere. She let out a noise something like a snarl and crawled back towards where Amber was now eating her fifth rat. Beryth made the snarl like noise that scared Amber a little making her leave the rat and turn to watch the purple cat creature.

Somehow in a way that most would never be able to understand Beryth managed to communicate with Amber by making these odd cat like noises. She couldn't speak human language but she seemed to be able to hiss, snarl and purr. The combination of noises helped her communicate to Amber so that the two of them could do some hunting. She was small but she wasn't stupid.

With Ambers ability to get anywhere in the house Beryth used her to find a way outside. Beryth couldn't get out, she was, well, too small to reach any window and climb out of it. The idea was that Amber would be able to flush the rats into the house where Beryth lay in waiting. She was part cat, the Goddess of cats so this meant that she had some cat like reactions and though she was nothing more then a kitten and her reactions were slow that meant she couldn't catch any rats.

She waited and listened, sitting right at the hole in which the rats entered. She heard a noise, a hiss, some scrambling about and then the first rat appeared, rather slowly in fact so it didn't take long for Beryth to catch it and put it in the box she had found. The rat was a little too confused to think about chewing through the box. However as more rats joined the first they together started chewing and Beryth didn't know what to do. She was after all only a kitten.

Amber appeared again with a couple of bites on her sides from the rats and a rat or two hanging from her mouth that she dropped at Beryths feet. Beryth looked at the dead rats and threw them into the box as well. Then something interesting happened. Amber and Beryth watched as suddenly the rats started eating the dead rat and then started to fight each other.

Then the door opened.

“Look you got what you wanted I am going to go check on...” Violet stopped mid sentence looking down at Beryth and Amber and their box of rats. She scooped Beryth into her arms and looked back at her brother. “Sort this out now, Beryth needs to see a doctor!” She rushed back out the house.

When they got back and Violet was happy that Beryth was fine she took Beryth to her play room and then collapsed in a chair. “Did you manage to sort the rats out?” She asked taking rather deep breaths between each word.

“It seems Beryth and Amber sorted them. I put the poison in the box and it killed them, I tried to find some more and I couldn't. Maybe I got the wrong impression of Beryth, maybe she isn't all that bad and is defiantly no normal child.”

“I told you that already, we are blessed, Beryth, my daughter.” She chuckled and let herself rest for a little bit.

Beryth, who was now in her playroom was stroking Amber who had managed to trap two live rats still. Beryth smiled and chuckled before taking one and rather horrifically killing it. She tore limbs apart and other things that most would find rather sick. She was no normal child and defiantly not angel.

.::Cats::.

Remove
Violet for the first time had dared to take Beryth out the house. It was something she had been dreading in a way, the young girl seemed to be very good at making good things turn bad.

They had gone to the park, Beryth was tied into a pushchair as tightly as it possibly could be. Violet wasn't risking anything. They had settled near the sand box and Violet was slowly and carefully untieing Beryth but at the same time looking for somewhere else to tie her to while she played. The girl was prone to being a monster so wandering off wouldn't be a surprise.

Eventually, Beryth was tied to a tree while in the sand box and Violet ended up sitting down beside them reading a book and slowly dropping off. This was how they stayed, while Beryth started to explore the strange parts of the sandbox, or maybe it was just a big litter tray.

Taejira
Mister Paws was out. Sure, he generally stayed in Jira's house simply because it was warm and there was food, but he was a cat, and cats made their homes where ever they pleased.
Besides this, he was a TOM cat, and that meant that wandering was in his very blood. Now he strutted proudly along, tail held high, glossy black coat gleaming in the sunlight. He'd spent quite a time grooming it earlier, and now everyone was going to see what a magnificent specimen of feline he was.

As he neared the sandbox, his ears perked and he paused mid-step. Sniffing the air, he narrowed yellow eyes. Something smelled like a cat... but different. He strode slowly towards the magenta toddler, still looking suspicious. Could it be? A creature that was both human AND feline? Approaching her, he let out a cautious purr.

Remove

Beryth looked up at the cat and clapped her hands and then looked round at Violet, who was now asleep, whether she would ever admit she fell asleep with her daughter tied up, seemed unlikely.

She turned back to the cat and tried to crawl towards him finding that she was pulled back. She ended up sitting still staring at the cat as if daring him to come closer. She was too young to speak but she knew how to communicate in other ways.

She was also growing very sharp teeth.

Taejira
Mister Paws watched her smugly for a moment, amber eyes gliding from the toddler to her sleeping parent, and back. He strutted closer, now only a few inches from her reach, still purring and looking rather...curious. What exactly WAS this creature?

Opening his mouth and emitting a soft myowling sound, he sat down and curled his tail round his haunches, still fixing his gaze on Beryth.

Remove
She tried to get hold of him, making a slight mewing noise as she was doing so. She wanted him to come closer, if she could touch him she could communicate as she couldn't exactly make alot of noise, that would wake her mother.

She turned and pulled on the lead that held her before turning back to the cat still pulling to get at him.

Taejira
Giving the toddler a warning glare, as if telling her that tail-pulling was NOT a good idea, he slunk forward, pawing gently at Beryth's arm and purring. Most small children he'd encountered had only been interested in dribbling on him and yanking his fur, so he certainly had reason to be cautious. But this one seemed... different. He looked up at her almost thoughtfully, tail waving.

Remove
She smiled as he moved closer and she 'pawed' at him with her hands before headbutting his side but softly and in an almost affectionate way. She then turned and pulled at the lead again before looking at the cat hopefully.

She did keep turning to look at her mother, who was still sleeping, then again Beryth hadn't been the calmest of toddlers and had made sure to keep everyone awake all night long.

Taejira
Mister Paws purred louder, licking Beryth's cheek as he might have one of his own kittens. Golden eyes focusing on the lead that tied her to the tree, he lep off her lap and circled it, before leaning up against the tree and using it as a scratching post, a wicked little cat-smile on his face. He clawed doggedly at the part of the tree the lead was tied to, making it fray and twist. No one was going to tie HIS feline kin to a tree!

Remove
She smiled as she watched him claw at the tree, her eyes seemed to narrow a little as she turned to look at her mother, holding the giggle back.

She continued to pull on the lead and after the cat had scratched enough she was able to get free, the first thing she did was stroke the cat in her own way of saying thank you.

Now, it was time to cause trouble.

She crawled out the sand box and looked about, turning back to the cat she smiled, he was to lead them and she tried to show it in anyway she could.

Violet was still sleeping, her mind elsewhere but the snap of the lead stirred her a little but it didn't seem to click in her brain that something was wrong, she moved a bit and then went back to reading. She hadn't adapted to being a mother yet.

Taejira
The black cat let out a small satisfied sound as the lead snapped, strutting forward and looking very proud of himself as Beryth stroked him. Taking the toddler's cue, he kept a wary eye on Violet as he stepped carefully out of the sandbox and began to pad along the grass, glancing back at the magenta child to see if she was following. Where to go? He had been just aimlessly wandering... though..hmm. The sight of a collection of sparrows clustered around a bit fo bread someone had dropped caught his eye, and he opened his jaws just slightly, making soft clicking sounds. His gait slowed, and his eyes narrowed... Mmm. Plump, delicious sparrows...

Taejira
Mister Paws glanced back at Beryth and flicked his gaze to the sparrows, again. Perhaps the two fo them could catch a few... after all, he could sometimes catch sparrows on his own, and with a helper it would be much easier...

His ears perked as he heard Violet speak. He looked back in the direction of the sandbox and smiled a smug cat-smile. Humans were so dense most of the time.

Remove
Beryth had heard her mothers call but ignored it, smiling at the sparrows and the cat, it was far more interesting then her mother and being tied up again.

"arrooooos" That was her attempt at saying sparrows, she said it quietly but was trying to get the cats attention back to the task at hand.

Violet was picking up Beryth's things and putting them in the pushchair. Why did she end up with a toddler who was far too intelligant for her own good?

She sighed, she could never take Beryth to meet Taia, it would make Taia look like an angel.

"Beryth, come on, Amber will be waiting." Mentioning the cat normally worked.

Taejira
The cat took the toddler's hint and focused his attention back at the sparrows. He padded lightly around them in a wide arc, slinking quietly and flatening his body to the ground. Now, if Beryth chased them, they'd run right towards him...

He silently cursed Violet's calling. She was going to distract the sparrows! He could only hope they were too fat and stupid to realise that he and Beryth were stalking them..

Remove
Beryth cralwed towards them but the sparrows obviously realised that a toddler was no threat, this didn't make Beryth happy in anyway what so ever. A result of this, though she didn't like the option meant she started screaming and crying as loud as she could.

If they wouldn't fly from her, she would deafen them.

Unfortuantly for Beryth, Violet heard her and came running, "Beryth... oh Beryth, shhh now come on Beryth its ok." She picked up the cat girl and cradled her before noticing the cat.

"What a surprise." she rolled her eyes and laughed. "Beryth, did you make a new friend?"

Beryth was ignoring her mother and trying to get back at the cat, "arooooos!!" She kept calling out, the cat knew what she meant.

Taejira
A few bedraggled sparrows hopped suspiciously away from Beryth, having eaten their fill of the stale bread...and right into Mister Paws's waiting...er, paws. He pounced, and there was a flurry of feathers. All the other sparrows panicked, flying away into the low branches of a nearby tree and scolding loudly. In the scuffle, the cat had lost his feathery prize. He looked sulkily up at Violet and twitched his tail, stalking up to her and looking very regal in spite of the fact that he had a few stray feathers hanging out of his jaws. He looked up at Beryth and purred.

Remove
Violet looked at the cat and then at Beryth and sighed.

"Hello there kitty, would you like to come back with us? You can have something to eat and meet Amber, she is a beautiful cat." She spoke as she tied Beryth into the pushchair, she was going home and to her room where she couldn't leave.

Taejira
Mister Paws simply stood and gazed a bit disconcertingly up at Violet. His tail swayed slowly behind him. He looked momentarily at Beryth, with what appeared to be sympathy. Anyone who tried to tie HIM in a chair would get a faceful of claws.

Remove
Unfortuantly Beryth didn't have claws and though she was throwing everything she had, Violet tied her down, so Beryth sulked.

"If you are coming kitty, we are going." Violet sounded annoyed and somewhat angry.

She walked, pushing beryth home at a rather fast speed, it was obvious that she was in a stress and the banging of the gate when they got to the house confirmed it.

Taejira
Mister Paws looked nonplussed by Violet's outburst, and he trailed after them at a leisurely pace, strutting along as though he wasn't at all bothered by the woman's mood.

When they arrived, he padded past Violet and Beryth and seated himself on the doorstep, looking up at her expectantly, as if to say "Well? I can't wait all day!"

Remove
Violet sighed as she looked at the cat, "Oh please dont let Beryth turn out like that." She opened the door and took Beryth out the chair, letting her crawl on the floor.

Amber, their tortiseshell cat trotted happily to greet them, stopping suddenly at yet another cat in her house. She looked at at Violet and mewed softly her greeting as usual.

Violet smiled. Stroked Amber and left the two cats and the half cat alone, they were home, she couldn't do too much more damage then she already had.

.::A Stranger with a Golden band::.

Remove
Violet had gone out to the shop where she had first found the bracelet that turned out to be Beryth's tail ring. She needed some answers but didn't expect to get any.

In her arms she carried what looked to be a bundle of cloths, she still wasn't ready to show her purple baby to the world so the material had been wrapped around Beryth and the young kitten had fallen asleep quite quickly as Violet had hoped for.

She moved quite quickly walking down an allyway before coming to a stop outside the shop. She just stood there for a while looking at the shop infront of her not knowing whether to actually go in or not.

ShortGreen
As she was hesitating, still deciding, a lean young man with touseled dark hair stopped beside her and tilted his head to one side, also eyeing the shop. Thoughtfully, he reached back and scratched at the short, scruffy hair at the base of his neck and a frown appeared on his face. Then, suddenly aware of her, he flushed beneath his tanned skin and offered a sheepish smile. "Oh. Hey." He pointed at the sign dangling in front of the shop. "Has this always been here?" he asked.

Remove
The voice startled her a little and she held Beryth a little closer to her chest.

"Oh.. yes I think so. Its a strange little shop, you planning on looking around?" She smiled trying to keep her voice clam. The shop had always scared her a little and gave her the chills especially after giving Beryth. She wasn't exactly the best present, beautiful yes, disobediant, definatly.

"Are you new around here? I haven't seen you before!" She smiled and chuckled a little. "Its nice here..." Most of the time.

ShortGreen
"Yeah, I just moved to the area." He seemed a bit shy himself and jammed his hands in his pockets, turning his hazel-eyed gaze back to the shop. "What do they sell here? Or make? I'm kind of looking for a job and..." His mouth twisted and he shrugged, sheepish again at being too open. "Sorry. Never mind. The name's Devon, by the way."

Remove
She chuckled, "Its a strange shop with very interesting items you should come in and look around." She smiled and was about to walk in and he spoke his name.

"I am Violet. You are very welcome to this village and good luck in finding a job, I kind of gave that one up. Then again I had to, my little Beryth came along." She didn't look down at Beryth as she didn't want to show her to a new person, a guy at that. Beryth was no normal child.

"Come on in and look around/" She smiled again and with that opened the door and walked into the shop that gave her Beryth.

ShortGreen
"Sure, I'd love to but..." He followed her in, blinking as he tried to adjust his eyes to the dimmer light in the shop. "I just can't give up like that. I get bored if I don't work and," he cut himself off again and instead paused at a long low table to look at the various items haphazardly arranged on it. "Anyway, every town's got a tat shop," he finished quietly.

Devon barely brushed fingers over what looked like an elaborate mirror. Then he turned his attention to a guitar of sorts but without strings. "Violet? Just, uh, what -do- they sell here?"

Remove
Violet nodded as they entered the shop. She kept Beryth in her arms wrapped up and looked around for the shop keeper who seemed to be absent. Was she ever here?

"oh? They sell odd things, there seems to be at least one thing for everyone though." She knew that for sure! She looked down at Beryth who was thankfully still asleep. She didn't want the youngster waking up that was for sure.

ShortGreen
Devon scratched the back of his head as he moved on down the line to peer at a chain-link necklace, a plain scepter, a ring. "Really? What is it?" he asked, wry cynicism in his low voice. "Magic?"

Remove
Violet looked up and smiled, "Magic? What makes you think that?" She held Beryth a little tighter and turned to pretend to look at something so her back was to the strange man. She wasn't sure what gave her Beryth, it could have been magic or a curse or both.

ShortGreen
Something glinted in the far corner of the table and Devon resisted the sudden urge to pounce on it. Casually, he turned, squinted, and then finally reached for it. There was nothing at all special to it - simply a golden circlet, too big for a bracelet, too small for a headband. Upon having it in his hand, it proved to weigh almost nothing but it was so warm to the touch that he frowned. It was gold, wasn't it? Gold shouldn't act like that. Something seemed to spark at his fingertips and he bit back a gasp, hurriedly setting the item down. Then he glanced over his shoulder to see if Violet had noticed anything.

It felt really strange to both want and hate something but there it was. The little golden circlet winked slyly at him in the dim light.

Remove
Violet had turned to watch him and chuckled as he put the item back down. "Take it, its obviously yours. Like I said everyone has something in here. I had a bracelet which turned out to be a tailring." She chuckled but it was true.

She walked towards him and moved some of the cloths back from around Beryth who was still sleeping, this was the longest time she had slept in history! "This is Beryth."

ShortGreen
Devon's eyes went wide as he stared down at the little ball of lavendar fur. "That, um... She's cute?" he tried. Tilting his head, he looked a bit closer and noticed the ring on her tail. He frowned a bit. "That... You got that here and it turned into... Her?"

The golden circlet flickered just out the corner of his eye and he jammed both hands in his pockets. He had never been a shoplifter but, wow, his fingers were itching to grab and run. "This is weird."

Remove
She chuckled a little, "Cute doesn't quite suit her." She looked at the circlet and went to pick it up. "Is this it?" She looked at him and then hande it to him. "You may as well just take it. No one buys things from here, not that I know of anyway. Each person has something, here because, well it belongs to them." She smiled as she wrapped Beryth back up in the cloths that she had, hoping the infant wouldn't wake up.

ShortGreen
Devon looked down at the circlet. Now that it was in his hands, it felt even warmer and he fought back a shiver. It was nearly alive. Which was a stupid thing to think but he couldn't help it. Glancing from Violet to the bundle of blankets and back, he finally shook his head. "If this turns into... Something," he began, "I don't know. I mean, I'm in no shape to take care of a kid... Or whatever it is."

Remove
She smiled, "If it turns into anything like Beryth you can always come and stay around mine for a bit. I am still trying to get use to it so we could always try and get through it together, as long as you don't mind my brother or our cat." She laughed a little wondering how her brother would react to her inviting a stranger to stay with them.

She didn't mind. She wanted to help him settle in to the neighbourhood or at least this area.

ShortGreen
Devon offered her a sheepish, lopsided smile, attention momentarily drawn away from the circlet. "I'd appreciate that, yeah. Thanks." Then he started a bit and set the circlet down as he began searching the pockets of his jeans. "Got a pen and paper here somewhere."

It took a few minutes but he was rewarded with a slightly bent pen and a little pad of paper, half-covered in doodles. He managed to find a blank page. "Can I get in touch with you?"

Remove
"Erm.. sure." She gave him her address and a phone number so he could cal if he wanted. She also explained how to get to her house if he wished to come around at any point. It all made sense in her mind.

"I hope thats all ok for you and not too confusing." She smiled, feeling a little shy all of a sudden. Oh what would her brother think? He needent know unless this guy turned up on the doorstep.

ShortGreen
"Nope, I'm spatial," he replied bafflingly. Then he slipped the circlet over his wrist and leaned the notepad against the edge of the table as he scribbled down his own information in neat block capitals. Tearing it off, he handed it to Violet. "And here's my info. I promise I just won't, y'know, turn up. I'll call first."

Remove
She laughed a little, "Oh please just turn up anytime you want! You might be more successful at that then trying to call. Beryth might be small but she seems to know how to prank call already so our phone is off the hook most of the time." She smiled shifted Beryth about in her arms, a small mewing sound coming from the purple cat girl.

She took the information from him and slipped in her pocket making a note in her mind about taking it back out her pocket before washing her clothes.

ShortGreen
Devon smiled a bit vaguely in the direction of the blanket-wrapped child. Then the smile was offered to Violet. "Well, I'll still try," he answered quietly. "I mean, if this thing turns into a kid or something..." He shrugged and looked down at the golden circlet in his hand. "I'm not even a brother so I don't know how being a dad'll work out. I'll need pointers and you look like you're working it out just fine."

Remove
"I have help, my brother watches her when he isn't working and because he is working it means I can stay at home with Beryth." She smiled at him and then looked around the shop.

"I should probably head back to him, it seems the shop keeper isn't here and I wished to talk to her, maybe another time. I do hope to see you around again sometime, especially when your little one appears." She smiled and curtsied before wrapping Beryth up tightly.

ShortGreen
"Oh. Yeah." Devon cast another look down at the golden circlet and then offered Violet a crooked smile. "Thanks again. I'll... Well, I'll catch you later. Thanks a lot for..." He shrugged as he slipped the circlet into the pocket of his baggy jeans. "Well, everything, I guess. You're been great." He hesitated for a moment and then, half-laughed, adding, "And tell Beryth that I say hi when she wakes up. If this thing turns into a kid, they can have a playdate."

Remove
Violet chuckled. "I am sure you will get to say hi to her one day. I am just glad she has managed to stay asleep, she isn't the easiest of kids to deal with but then there always is a bad one!" She chuckled and smiled.

"Good bye and good luck, you know where I am and if you get a kiddy I will be happy to baby sit him!" She smiled and bowed her head briefly before slipping out the door. It was nice to talk to someone other then her brother.

ShortGreen
Devon watched her go with a faint smile. Well, that had been nice, he thought. Then he patted his pocket, starting a bit at the sensation of warmth through the denim. He sighed. This was too weird. Running a hand through his hair, he stood it further on end as he looked around the shop one last time. When no one appeared, he finally gave up and turned to leave.

"And if you turn into a kid," he muttered, "I just hope you're freakin' potty-trained already or something."
