I went to the local Mexican hangout here the other day and little did i know, there was a Mariachi shindig goin on! They were runnign around playing stuff like Santana, Pink Floyd, and even Lynyrd Skynyrd for all us americans xD. I had thsi terrible urge to yell out "FREEBIRD!!!" when they were playing Sweet Home Alabama.

i'm half mexican... though i dont play flaminco, but i do like the style and how the rythem can cover bass and percussion. woot. and plus if i play chop suey or toxicity around older people they think its flaminco...

Both my parents are mexican and I was born in the states so I guess that makes me Mexican american or American of Mexican desent. Anyway I play flamenco too, I like the fact there are things you could do in that style that would never work on any other style like (dont know the name of this technique, or if it is even a well known technique) I sometimes strum all the strings of a chord but I use three fingers one following closely behind the other so its kinda like a triple every time i go down. and to get fancy I strum up with my middle finger as my hand comes up across the strings for another triple. I wish I had a sexy spanish dancer at my disposal tho..
