Okay, I'm posting this because I need some advice. I realized that I haven't really done anything for gay rights aside from talking to people about it (generally debates). I'd like to at least go to protests or something but I never hear about them until it's too late and anyhow they're generally too far away for me to go to since my mom wouldn't be willing to drive me more than maybe an hour and there isn't really anywhere within an hour of my house. I'm planning to hand out pamphlets at a music festival this summer, but that's just one thing that won't even necessarily help. I don't want to too much just think of something to do and do it because it might end up being counter-productive and I really have any right to take that risk. So does anyone have suggestions of something I could do?

Well, where do you live for one? Ask around and see what you can find for things such as 'Rainbow Youth' or other such organizations that help GLBT kids.
And if you can't find anything of ANY kind, then just sick with us here and inform the 'general public' when you can. The general public being those people that you debate about with.
Just remember to not be afaird of steping out on a lim and trying something bold and out there that could make a difference. You never know until you try something.
And don't worry. Just even being here is helping everyone. All of us here can be together and help one another so we can help others.

Do you have a GSA at your school? If you don't you could try to start one, and if there is you should join it. You can learn about a lot of ways to get involved in different events in your area that way.

There are groups just like them outside of schools that you can organize yourself or choose to join. For more information try looking up the book "Rainbow Boys"...I'm not sure of the author, but in the back they gave all kinds of information!

I read that book, but maybe I need to look at the information in the back again and really see if there's anything in there that can help me. (The author is Alex Sanchez, by the way.)

(Yah... sweatdrop I can be airheaded sometimes) And I looked in the back, mainly its information on starting your own...which may just be the thing to do!

And maybe you could take the bus to a pride event, or go with a friend and have each parent drive one way?
