If you wanted to make something fun, easy, and relatively interesting for your family, and would be willing to go pick up some meats and such, you could try a hot pot. If you've got an electric wok or frying pan, just put some water in there, some little dried shrimps, put raw meats and veggies cut up on plates around the table, with the frying pan in the middle, give everyone forks, put some sauces like hoisin sauce, chili sauce, soya sauce, whatever about, some rice, and go to town!. Everyone just picks what they want, and throws it into the the pot. Afterwards, just chuck in the noodles, let them boil, and have noodles. My family and i do this when we have friends over, and it's really fun.

Bisque is a hard thing to master. it takes practice and time.
I would go with a stif fry over the soba noodles. Sautee the asparagus pieces with some onion, carrot, maybe some broccoli, and Mushrooms or what ever vegetables you like. I would also dice the tomato (for color)but add that last because it will disinigrate into the stirfry if added too soon.
Cook the veggies, add the shrimp and crab and tomato. a light sauce could be some soy sauce and/or asian hoisin sauce diluted with a bit of chicken broth. spread this over the cooked soba noodles, top with chopped green onions and a drizzle of toasted sesame oil. YUM Now I need stir fry tomorrow for dinner.
Oh yes, I have found there are a couple kinds of cooks. 1 is the person who follows a recipe to the letter. The other is how i cook. I look at a recipe and the first time will follow it to the letter. Then I will change it to make it to my own tastes. I will always follow a baking recipe to the letter. Baking (cakes cookies etc) is more of an exact science.Don't be afraid to experiment. Some of my best dishes i can't recreate because i cant remember what all i experimented with or measurements. but I have fun.

Not sure if anyone has said it, but sushi would be a good use of Rice, Shrimp and Crab. You can use your veggies in it as well. Sushi rice is fairly easy to prepare, all you need to do is get your hands on some nori and your rocking. Sushi makes a nice meal , if you say add with with a simple salad and fresh fruits.
Hope that helps.

designergrl Sadiakay Okay im completely new and i really don't have any knowlege on how to cook, even though i absolutly love to cook and i love experimenting with new flavors and trying new things. Okay this is my deliema(sp)...i have: crab meat shrimp soba noodels pasta rice(whte and brown) onion tomatoes asparagus all kind of normal hous hold spices and pratically anythignounder the sun and i live close to a small market store so i could always go buy what i need anyway i need some ideas on how to use the crab meat to make a good dinner for me and my family and the only limitations are no bellpeppers no celery Besides that, it's all fair game... now i was thinkingosmthing along the lines of maybe a crab bisque with a side of pasta or somthing...but i really have no idea what i am doing and could use some major help @_@ please ... I know you were thinking about a bisque, but how 'bout a stir-fry? You could do something quite tasty with the seafood and veg, served over the soba noodles or white-flour pasta. A simple sauce could be made with some white wine, light soy, ground ginger, and garlic (mmmmm lots of garlic). Maybe a sprinkle of sesame oil. Make the sauce separately and keep tasting it till you get a balance you like. A teensy bit of sugar is okay if you want to smoothe it out. Saute the shrimp in a couple tblsps of vegetable oil, over medium-high heat, till they're no longer see-through, then add the Krab and the asparagus (chopped). When done to your taste, sprinkle with some cornstarch (about 1 tblsp) and stir well. Then add the sauce and stir over medium heat till it thickens. Serve over your cooked noodles. Yum! Options: The tomatoes maybe wouldn't be so good in this, but you could try using some onion slices. Saute them first -- cook until soft and somewhat clear. Nice one!

kk I have 2 bisque recipies 2nd is better than other , but the 1st still taste good and is easier.
1st recipie: 1 can Campbell's cream of tomato bisque soup 1 can Campbell's consomme 1 can Campbell's whole green pea soup 1 can cream 1/2 can sherry 1 cup of crab meat (flanked or chopped depends on how meaty you want it. ) Combine three soups. Mix sherry and cream with mixer or blender and add to soup mixture. Cook until almost boiling, stirring often. Add crab meat, mix well and serve.
2nd recipe: start with a tomato bisque: 1 qt. tomatoes 1 onion, sliced 1 pint milk 1 T. butter 2 T. corn starch 1 t. sugar 1/2 t. baking soda salt and pepper to taste 1 pint sweet cream Stew tomatoes and onion for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, heat milk in a double boiler; into this put butter, cornstarch, mixed with a little milk. Stir constantly until it thickens.Rub tomatoes thru a sieve and return to the fire. Add sugar, pepper and salt to taste, add baking soda, then boiling milk. Into this stir in sweet cream.
Then do the crab part: 1 lb King Crab leg meat (in chunks) or crab meat of your choice 1 medium onion, finely diced 2 celery stalks, finely diced 2 cups of the tomato bisque soup (you just made) 2 cups milk 2 tablespoons butter Prepare onion and celery, peel and chop onions to a fine dice. Remove strings from celery, wash and finely dice. In a skillet, melt butter. Sauté onion and celery until soft. Stir in Tomato Bisque Soup, milk and crab meat. Heat to serving temperature. voila!!!!
