I have a discussion to open here… and I’m hoping that everyone will read and respond smile
1. I (Keppit… sister of Emelyn) would like to see the Skull Monkey thread continue… Ok… still here?
2. heart Quietsnooze heart is currently unable to continue due to a lack of time for it… (understandable and we would not want to over burden Quiet… )
3. Therefore we need to find someone responsible and capable who also has the trust of Qs….
I propose that Qs let Emelyn take over the Skull Monkey thread… not as her own, but rather as a continuation of the direction that Quiet had been taking it… I, as Emelyn’s sister, know her best (heck I shared a room with her until I was thirteen… ) and I know that she is a very capable person who could keep the Skull Monkeys that we have all come to know and love running and with this new management everyone would (in time) be able to enjoy the addition of more Skull Monkeys and more things like an Sm school run by the owners, and other things that I know only Em can come up with ….
It has been rumoured that Qs said that she wouldn’t give it to anyone… well… Em might not count in that… and It can’t hurt to post here saying that you wouldn’t mind Em taking over the thread so that you could see it continue and be a part of it all…or to post saying that you think this is a terrible Idea...
Let me reassure those of you who are ‘tut’ing and shaking their heads at me right now… that I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t have respect for Qs and all that she did for us…. If I didn’t feel strongly about Skull Monkeys then I wouldn’t be here would I? I think Qs did a wonderful job…. but I must admit that her closing the Skull Monkeys down makes me (and hopefully not just me) very sad… I felt before that this was as much our thread as it was hers because without us were would it be? Page 600 in the breedables forum? And no I’m not saying that without ‘US’ in particular… but rather without owners in general, for let’s face it… If it weren’t us it would be other people… but people who would now be in the same position as we are now… looking at the end of the road. No more… but we can change that…
I put this thread up for discussion on the point above…should Emelyn (who is obviously more than capable of running a breedable and a minishop, and has Qs’s trust and friendship) be considered for the job of continuing Skull Monkeys in the manner which it was working before…
I’m looking for both agreements and disagreements… what I want is honesty people… smile
((Emelyn doesn’t know that I’m doing this (trust me the Atlantic ocean is separating us blaugh )… but she is willing))
please post

While I love the SMs and would love to see them continue, I just dont think it would be the same without QS and Liz-Liz. I dont really think there needs to be any more babies and who is to say that we couldnt do schools or whatnot right here in the guild.
It was QS and LL's perogotive to close the shop. Its there baby. We cant just be like, "Give me your baby! I can raise it better!" Thats not cool.
I do think that we should operate in the bounds of their wishes, however, that doesnt stop us from implementing activites in the guild. The art exchange is one such example.
Just because there will not be any new SM, doesnt mean that SMs are dead. We are all very alive and well.
A better request would be that everyone continue to RP!
((This is in no way me saying Em sucks... for she doesnt! ... and I loves her!))

Well... I agree with Keppit.
I can understand why QS and Liz would want to end this on their own. It was their shop, so it's their right...but what about everyone who participated? I mean...what about everyone who owns a SM? By shutting down the shop, they sort of...end everything.
We we 'purchased' or SMs, we expected that they would grow, make friends, fall in love, whatever. They would be able to BREED, and the circle would continue....Fifth stage was a huge bonus, might I add.
But by suddenly shutting down the shop...it cuts everything else short. I mean, I'm not saying you HAVE to be able to breed to have a relationship. I'm saying...children's part of what holds it together, you know? And they can't even adopt, because there will be no more SMs. Ever.
Everyone on the SM thread knows Emelyn, and everyone knows how dedicated she is to the thread and to her SMs. ((Her comp's been broken for the past few weeks, and she's getting everything back under control right now)) She wouldn't have to take over completely, but.... We've talked to Em, and she would be willing to have a flatsale every so often, or allow breeding every once in a while...
Also, if Liz would rather not continue the fifth stage, my sister has volunteered to do them occasionally. ((e.< Picture in my sig was done by her, as well as Jack...umm...I could get more pictures if you'd like further examples)). The style would be a bit different, but fifth stage would still be an option at least...
No one wants to rob Liz and QS of their claim to the Skull Monkeys. They just don't want the whole thing to die out... No one can honestly say they're happy with the SMs just ending. And this would solve it... Why can't it just be passed on?

I agree entirely with Moofuls. I think Emelyn would be a great new owner ((shared, if necessary)) of the SM shop. We're not trying to steal QS and Liz-Liz's creation, no. All we want to do is continue it, allow more options. If they don't have the time, and we do, why not?
Also, for those of us who haven't been here long enough for our SMs to fall in love or get a fifth stage item...we're screwed over. They can never have babies, never become a new adult that we can all adore...I know there's lots involved in just Rping something you have, but that can only go so far, right? Eventually there'd be nothing more to do but for Odd to go and snog someone for the rest of his life, along with a bunch of other adults. Not the most fun thing to imagine, nyeh?
I know that there can still be fifthers, yes, but...school just started for me and being -that- active is difficult. I'm only human, and I just got into high school, which is a big change for me. I can't be on enough to get Odd to be a fifther, and I really -do- want that for him.
I know that QS and LL might be reluctant to give up SMs to someone else because it was their creation. But wouldn't it be better to see your creation flourish rather than to end it outright, with many bad feelings and a bunch of Rping that would eventually get boring? I would rather see a child grow than kill it ((relating back to the whole baby thing sweatdrop )).
Down to the point, I think that Emelyn would be a great owner for the shop, as well as all the people who would be helping. If so many people would gladly contribute to such a cause, would it really be so bad to just let them do it? Wouldn't it really make everyone that much happier? I know I'd be particularly thrilled.
We would promise to keep it active, swear to keep it alive and going. If we were granted such a wish, I'm sure none would regret it or think it would've been better off ended. Please, just give it a chance.

I agree with Moo. When I first came to the skullmonkey thread, I was a stupid noob, to say the least. I dont know even how I got a SM back then, only that I barely knew how to take care of it. As the time went by,I learned more, and a extreme bond was made between me and Sarabi, whose not just a pixel art thing on the computer to me...shes real, because I sculpted her and formed her personality myself. Her and Tawn are in love, and my utmost goal here at the skullmonkeys was to get them to breed. Not because I was greedy and just wanted more, but because I knew that Sarabi needed this, to teach her something about life. (Plus I really wanted to be called Grandma blaugh ) So I think its an excellent idea to have Emelyn run the shop, not to rob it from QS, to make the owners who've worked so hard for these, happy.

I don't think the SMs should die.
When I first got Mauli, I had no idea how things would turn out. She's become my best pet, and I even think of her as a daughter, albeit an invisible one. I had hoped that she would find a mate, have children, and grow old while meeting new friends.
Apparently, that's not the case.
Sure, it's awesome she's a fifth stager. But what if she fell in love with an SM that's not a fifth stager? Their relationship wouldn't work out too well.
I had hoped to see all of the SMs flourish, grow old, and turn into fifth stagers. I had hoped I would meet new people, and so would Mauli, and that one day she'd have twin siblings like her shadow friends. I had hoped so many things... And I get easily smashed. I have been, many times. First, at the five-hundred page mark, by someone... I will not name...
Then, when SMs died.
Oh, sure, you don't think it's dead. We've still got our SMs, sure. That's all fine and dandy.
But after every SM has been introduced to one another, after every plot has been finished...
What then?
Absofugginglutely NOTHING, that's what. SMs will die because of this.
And I, for one, think that Emelyn would do an AMAZING job at keeping the SMs going. She's a lovely person, very giving and kind, and she's perfect for the job. She loves her SMs, she's good with people, and she knows how to run a business. Saying no because you WANT the SMs to be ended... That's selfish. Think of all the people you're hurting with that. I can name two people, right off the top of my head, that I know WANTED an SM. Now they can't even get one from adoptions.
Aaaaaand i'm pretty worn out from typing all this. I'll go fume, and add more later.

Can people not let old wounds scab over and heal? Must you pick at them and make them bleed all over again? Seriously people. You're acting like the world is ending. I've put up with enough of not-so-subtle opinion stating and rants time and time again. First of all.. Quote: No one can honestly say they're happy with the SMs just ending. I can. I am happy this s**t is over and done with. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I'm slowly running out of patience with you and yours, Moo and Lenta. You've always wanted your way with the SMs. I'm sorry, this was my shop. I can't think of one positive, constructive thing you've ever said to Liz and I. It's always been, do it THIS way. I'm sorry, I'm not a pushover. I'm not going to back off on my decision, however much you decide to rant before or after this statement. I can't honestly think of something negative about ths SMs without thinking of you guys. It's the honest truth coming from me. I'm the type of person who tries to remain positive, tries to please the majority of people. Still, things always have to have a bad side to them and you guys seem to always bring that out. Fifth stage was a bonus. A flipping BONUS. Everyone is acting like its a right. Liz agreed to do it for the FUN in seeing your SM fifth stage [which is NOT anthro by the way, anthro would mean their skin is furry. Just thought I'd let that out too.] If you knew how much of a priviledge it is to get the fifth stage, I bet you'd be a lot more appreciative. Some paid even a mere 1.. 2k for the SM, and to get a jaw-dropping custom stage? Appreciate it. Though, do remember.. these are pixels on your computer screen. Feel free to take them away from their original form and turn them into original characters. That way, you can make them reproduce all you want for all I care. Just don't flaunt about it in your signature, it's quite repulsive to see how you make them act sometimes. All things end. An ending is natural. If I would follow your demands and open breeding for a few more SMs, who's to say there's an end? Once you get a taste, you want more. I thank you. Yup, I do. You've taught me of what I don't want to be. Seeing the way you guys act makes me thank God I have friends like Lizzi who are mature, sensible human beings. You've also made me learn, however difficult that was, how not to be a pushover. The SMs will not get a new owner. I've said it once, I'll say it again. I started them, I want to be the one to end them. I'm very, very tired of my art of the SMs, and the concept of the Skull Monkeys in general, as they're more than a year old to me. Absolutely nothing against Emelyn at all, because anyone in the world could offer and I'd turn them down. I'm going to lock this thread. Seriously, this place is for roleplay purposes for the most part, not for campaigns to make me change my mind. If I feel the need, I'll get the main thread locked up too, and perhaps find out how to get the guild deleted. Do you want that? If this becomes the case, future fifthers will receive their alert by PM. It's funny.. Not many people have ever taken in account my personal feelings in this. I never expected, when I started up these breedables, for it to be a shitfest all over me personally. Wow. If I could take it all back, I would. Thanks for reading the rant I've held inside for a very long time, and encouraged by many to finally let it be known.
