I lift weights, free weights only, no machines.
Usuall training consists of:
Bench press Bend over rowing Deadlift Biceps curls (No idea why actually, the first thing my brother thought me ; ) Wrist curls Farmers walk Plate pinching.
As for body weight routine:
Crunches Dips A whole lof of variety in pull ups. Actually, pull ups are my main exercise. Hand stand push ups. Bridging (on the hands and head)
Is it usefull for martial arts? I'd say yes. I disagree with whomever said that you need to learn technique first before weight training, thats just not true. You need to learn the technique's slowly and without a lot of power, just restrain yourself!

I definately would not foresake weight training for martial arts training. It is important that when doing martial arts that you're not "muscling" the technique as oppsed to properly executing it.

I lift weights sometimes, not all that often though.
I do wear 20 pound weights on each of my limbs whenever I do anything training-like.
Does that count?

That is so bad for your joints. Don't do that. If you want to train with weight. Do normal exerisces with them. If you really really want to do training with weights on you. Wear a weighted vest. NEVER EVER use ankle or wrist weights. sweatdrop

Yeah. You'll pay for it later. The wrist and ankle weights should be completely done away with/ The weighted vest is good, as is holding light weights. It shouldn't be overdone though.

Personal trainers are good because they make you accountable for not doing the work, and they know their stuff. My cousin was a personal trainer through college, he gave me lots of tips. I was doing so much stuff wrong.
