One outing had been enough for the daywalker, so X decided to send a phone call over to Karma so she could bring Arkie over for a 'keep Nao entertained' session. Making sure to have lots of snack foods available for the two Fa'e, sugary foods for Nao and an assortment of much everything for Arkie, the vampire was sprawled out on the couch as she watched Nao watch TV.
The Fa'e was watching something possibly on Home and Garden, a gardening show that had caught his attention due to the many of flowers they were apparently planting in this week's show.
What was with this kid and his pretty flowers and pretty feathers?
Nao didn't seem to care about his mother's questions, and was intent on watching this lady plant the pretty flowers during the show. During the commercials he would draw some of the flowers he liked, as if he were taking notes on which ones he wanted Rae to help him plant in his garden.
Either way, X was damned comfortable on the couch and didn't really have the motivation to get up or grab the remote. Instead she just watched the toddler absently, giving him a forced smile whenever he would look back at her.
Oh she couldn't wait till Karma got here.

As it would turn out, her hopes would be answered within the next few minutes as a knock was heard at X's front door. On the porch, Karma stood with Arkie in an unsteady upright position beside her as she held his hand. He was starting to get the hang of this whole "walking" thing, but not enough to be able to get around gracefully. He'd developed an infuriatingly-slow stumble-stumble-fall gait that usually led to Karma's patience wearing thin and her picking him up and simply carrying him where they needed to go.
It wasn't that she didn't want to encourage his learning to walk, it was just that when there were people bustling around all sides of you who seemed all-too-happy to run you down, it was in your best interest to get out of their way as quickly as possible. That was something you just couldn't do with a wobbly toddler.
In mimicry of his guardian, Arkie bumbled forward and knocked twice on the door with his own tiny fist and a laugh. Karma smiled, gently tugging him back from the door before he could drive X nuts with repeated knockings and waited.

Once the knock was heard, the vampire grunted and managed to worm her way off of the couch and over to the door, opening it when she saw who it was. "Hey... Oh Arkie! You've grown too..." Reaching down, she pat his head lightly before giving a forced grin to Karma and turning to head back into the living room.
"Nao's in the living room, watching a gardening show..." She explained, motioning to the Fa'e who's attention was held only on said show, not noticing the new arrivals. "Sorry I'm distant... Things have happened lately."
Pausing, X continued into the living room, where the food for the two had been set up, knowing that Arkie would be attracted to it like Nao to a giant block of pure sugar.

Karma knit her brow, worried that X's frazzled expression might be directed at her. But...no, that couldn't be right. X had invited HER over, after all...
And then, hearing things had happened lately, she relaxed. "Its perfectly understandable, don't worry." The foxcoon didn't press beyond that, deeming it none of her business as she led Arkie into the house alongside her, allowing him to walk.
He seemed to be having a much easier time on carpet and linoleum than he had been on grass and pavement. True to X's prediction, upon seeing the food and recognizing it for what it was, he forcefully slipped his hand out of Karma's grasp and began to move forward as quickly as he could go.
Three steps, and his legs tangled beneath him, spilling him to the living room floor, so he resorted to crawling again. It wasn't a huge loss. He moved quicker that way anyway.

"So, how have you been?" Figuring that a good subject change was due, X glanced over to Karma as she followed behind the seaweed-y toddler into the living room.
Nao however, was seemingly undistractable from his on screen flowers, until Arkie came tumbling after, the noise catching and automatically redirecting his attention.
Hey! It was the green thing! Only he was bigger-er!
Squawking softly in jealousy when he realized that the younger Fa'e was indeed bigger than him, he continued to wiggle his feathers as he stared. What was he called again? "Xoxoctic aca ohueyac!" He exclaimed, forgetting that Arkie probably didn't understand him like the spotted one did.
